Depends how close friendship we are talking about, I have a feeling you are not the bestest friends?  I'd consider more how open she is to free relationships, if you are positive you can remain friends with occasional benefits I'm with you. Some people are cool about it, others may get attached which is probably not what you are looking for.

Sex with friends is just stupid imo. You either grow up and have a proper relationship or just dont mess around like that. Its not nice. Falling in love and having an physical relationship with someone is the most intimate thing we can do. It isnt a game - although some people treat it as such.

I'd say it depends on what you mean by the term okay. What is okay to you/your friend and if this term can be fulfilled you are probably the one to answer.
Otherwise I agree with spacebunny and say go for it, if you want.

Well I didn't really explain it in any detail and umm I don't think Spacebunny approved. She's pretty much accurate and ideally that's what would happen: grow up and have a proper relationship.
I need to clarify some things with the girl so I'll have a better answer but basically she is way more open about such things than I am and more "game-ish" if you will.
I just have a sour feeling about messing with friends since it hasn't worked out well in the past. But why shouldn't I take pleasure if it is available? So I'm see-sawing.

Okay, maybe Im just 'old fashioned', but the thought of randomly engaging in sex with acquaintances rather than taking each other seriously seems very cold to me! I may see it differently being female.

So if I understood correct, you actually have all the information you need.
That is, it is up to you if you want to have a relationship with this girl, but in that case it'd be rather open, i.e. you won't be bound to eachother, however you may enjoy eachother in a physical instead of purely intellectual way as it is with most girls you are friends with.
However you want it to be more you and her only, that is you want to restrict her.
If I should guess, I'd guess she hasn't found out what she really wants and she sees a lot of possibilites and won't settle yet, though maybe I am wrong and she is just the type who'll never settle. Anyway, if you can't live with an open relationship, I would advice you to wait with having a relationship with this girl until she's ready to meet you on terms you can accept.
I hope I understood what you said correct.

I mean sex is what you make it. It is plausible that if you make it to something special, the partner one ends up with would probably have the same viewpoint, or one would not have ended up with said partner. However to me, it is an unnecessary limitation of possible partners.
To me, sex is just a relatively random function of the human body which is used for reproduction. The human body is nothing more than a shell through which we can express our existance. The human body is not us, and its functions does not define us. It is what we decide to use our body to, the actions we make, that defines us in my opinion.

I think it isn't wrong but it may cause problem.
ignoring all the rules and beliefs of the society, do you consider it moral? if yes it probably isn't wrong. the question is if it will hurt someone. now or later.
then, the problems may come from other people who have their mind narrowed by the beliefs and rules of the society and will disagree with you. there is a high chance they'll be wrong, and proving them wrong will probably be hard.
also, people who will agree with you will also most likely do it for the wrong reasons (narrow-mindedness once again) 
maybe I should precise that except some rare exceptions we are probably all very narrow-minded
hum, I somewhat agree with what ohforf just said.
actually, it seems we set sex as the difference between friendship and "love" but there isn't really a difference, friendship is love too, and no it's not a different kind of love, the only thing differencing different kind of "love" are elements of egoism that we dare calling "love"
(actually, it could even be proven that our current view of love has actually nothing to do with love and is only egoism)

Riight ... try to be a bit openminded and consider that people have different opinions, aight? Don't throw around that "you're not mature enough" when someone say they don't mind random sex. It's pleasure, and that's it. Sure it's better with someone you love, but that's mainly because you've been with that person for awhile and you both know what gets each other off in the best way, and you're not afraid to experiment further. Some enjoy random sex and some find it discusting, it's pretty much like discussing religion.
