If I were a different kind of person, I'd get mad at this, but instead I'll say that the ones who don't understand love and devotion fully are the ones who think that polyamory and love are incompatible.
Edit: In saying that they don't understand it fully doesn't mean they don't experience it, only that they don't understand that it's perfectly compatible with loving multiple people.

Mvass relationship gets thumps up from me. Yeah polyamory is not for me , but I wish people would understand that love comes in many shapes and forms. Very arrogant to tell someone that "they don't know love".

Well, you directly quoted a specific sentence of him, a sentence where he clearly defends his position against a counter-argument, so, I wouldn't say it was far fetched:

Interesting. There is a fair argument from the poly community that goes something like this: In the animal kingdom there are very few species that mate for life, or engage in consensual monogomy. Human beings aren't one of them and monogomy is unnatural.
Then they might point at divorce statistics, or offer anecdotal stories about how sex with just one person gets to be really @$×!ing tedious and boring after five, ten, or fifty years. And since we fantasize about sex with multiple partners, why not just be honest with and discuss boundaries that work for each other? It sure beats dishonest behavior in the form of cheating, which is pretty much a big eff you to your partner where you're telling them, "For me, but not for thee."

Or we could always show the animal kingdom a thing or two and practice what we humans like to call 'self control'. And show some respect to our partners.
If people want to have sex with many different partners, they can. You can just stop pretending that your relationship is the same as a monogamous one or even better.

I don't find the "monogamy is difficult" argument particularly persuasive, because for all the unhappy marriages that end in divorce, there are plenty of stable, happy marriages where no one is even remotely thinking of cheating. I could be monogamous if I needed to be, though it wouldn't be quite as good as polyamory. The "monogamy is difficult" argument is one of the weaker arguments for polyamory, IMO. Though the point of "it's better to be honest than to cheat" is a good one.Quote: Or we could always show the animal kingdom a thing or two and practice what we humans like to call 'self control'. And show some respect to our partners.
There's nothing disrespectful about polyamory, if that's what you're implying.
