Sorry for singling out one point among the many in this discussion, but - 5-6k euros a month to be financially independent? Unless Europe is extremely expensive, that strikes me as implausible. In my first job out of college, I was making less than half of that, and yet I still lived in my own (rather sizeable) apartment, paid for everything, saved money, etc - I was definitely financially independent, even though I had to be somewhat careful with money. The dollar equivalent of 5-6k euros isn't just independent, it's comfortably upper-middle-class.

The convo in this thread reminds me of the whole thing with Chloe Dykstra, a woman who stayed in an abusive relationship. So why on earth would a smart, attractive woman get trapped in something like that? She gives her own reasons but It's just been my general observation that women are genetically susceptible to snows. Wait, let me try to expand on that. It's been my observation are genetically susceptible to assertive, confident behaviour from men and this frequently overpowers their normal ability to discern self-centered, assholish behaviour. This is the whole root of the 'why do nice guys come in last?' question that many males feel at some point in their lives.
Am I saying anything new? Probably not, so good night and sleep tight.

my mom stayed with my dad for some years, in an abusive relationship(long enough for him and my mom to produce my two sisters, anyway). she would still be with him today, most likely, if she hadn't found out that he was abusing me as well, when he got me alone.
but it works both ways, too. many men will stay in an abusive relationship(hell, they do it all the damn time when they're married), themselves. my old friend loved one girl in particular because she was so controlling and physically abusive to him(which made sense, since he actually hated himself). i never really understood it(or him), myself(or why guys stay married to abusive or controlling women, or even GET married period, without a prenup). i've been through abuse, and i don't want any more of it. which is one of the reasons why i'll never, ever marry. because once you are married, as a guy, you're smack-dab in the middle of a system that favors females, over males. even moreso that usual. snow THAT snow. 
that said, it's not like i'm jeremiahemo 2, or something.  i love females even though they are DAMN crazy(even MORE THAN ME)!

There's a variety of reasons, but a common one is that they think that they're not being abused because that kind of treatment is normal. For example, there was a woman who thought that all men were alcoholics - at least some of them are honest about it, she reasoned. You can guess what kind of relationships she had. But someone in that state sees little to gain from leaving - what's the point, if they just fall for another abusive person?

Exactly, my personal experiences support that, been in a few (heroes classification less than 5 more than 1) relationships where the woman in a remarkably short while just gets used to the abuse (mostly verbal and almost always very one-sided). They get edgy, they get a little fight in them on occassion, but mostly they just take it, never once sensed that they even had the nerve to consider leaving.

I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that. When to survive without love you need to cling and learn to enjoy the bite of cold, then have to give it up, it's so hard, ever so hard. Why should you give it up when it has brought so much success, sure you are still dead inside, but it works, you have everything, except the one thing that you actually have to make a real sacrifice for. Will you be the same person afetward?

So i read the very first post, and it comes off as imaginary.
But if it just the way the OP communicates, it's obvious she didn't like your living environment.
I might just add, I feel love is very shallow and therefor fleeting. What constitutes "love" in reality for most people is just friendship put nicely, needing the other person put clinically.
You cannot have what you want, because once you have it you will want something else. Don't overestimate yourself.
