William mate, welcome back to our happy (or very snowing unhappy) single club.

Sounds pretty lame to me. But I really wish you best of luck - perhaps there is more than meets the eye to that excuse.

I'm letting myself be affected by it because I still love and care about her, a lot. She knows how I feel as well, we had a video convo and she saw what I was like.

By the way, me wanting to commit suicide wasn't because of this relationship, it was other issues, but it's all just ombined and I feel like ****.

I'm glad to hear that you love her.

As you still love her, then no matter what happens, then you can always hold on to that, as long as you can do something for her, to make her life better, you've something worth living (in my experience the people you love are more important than yourself, whereby as long as I can do something for those I love, it doesn't matter much about me, and therefore I'd never take me away from this world, because then I wouldn't be able to help those I love).

Really sucks, Will ... but it'll get better, it always does. Just takes time, so hang in there either she'll come back to you or you'll find someone else, hopefully better!

My GF broke up with me. I was upset and angry. Punched a hole through my door and cried. I've never felt this sad before in my life.
My comment may seem a bit harsh, but you can't say some people including me didn't warn you about it.

What I'm talking about is that you were too affected by it, when I already said you have to take it more lightly because it has a high probability of happening. But of course, that doesn't mean you should not have a GF, it means you should be prepared for this, not be "devastated".

No one takes statistics into account, after all, it's just "the current happy moment" for most. Obviously someone else will pop up later thinking the same as you originally thought, it's a battle reason can't win over people's irrational "current moment" blindness.

But yeah my advice is always "crap" or so you always said.

Please note my post was supposed to not be harsh, but rather see it from a different perspective and hopefully, make you understand it's not the end of the world.

Cut him some slack, nobody is his age reasons in probabilities and statistics. You are talking from the pedestal of experience, you are older.

It is precisely because of that that I even gave him some advice in the first place (it's not like I am the master of advice either, it was basic). I didn't say he did something wrong at all -- but he took it too deeply which is why he's too devastated, and I'm pretty sure thinking of suicide is not a small deal at all. Imagine if he actually did it because of it.

No, I agree with thedeath.

Not with statistics and stuff but with taking it too roughly. You take every feeling with the max. Learning some control would do you good. By your story you overreacted.

Stop whining like a girl and learn some control. Are you going to keep breaking your stuff as you go along?

Stop being an emo and get a life!

Ps. Being single ain't that bad. Means you get to snow anyone you want.

Thanks everyone for the support. Yes, even you TheDeath. A different perspective is nice.

Also, Joonas:

I'm not whining like a girl. It's harder for someone like me to have self control, especially with controlling anger. I've already talked about the issues I have in this forum, multiple times in fact.

Harder even more so when you're depressed.

@Joonas: You, apparently, have never been depressed before, have you?

William isn't whining; he's just depressed. Take a cup of water for example. While it fills up, you're ok, no matter what it's filling up with (in this case sadness/anger/other negative emotions). Once it fills up however, it overflows, and you break down. It feels like a deep emptiness that no one and nothing can fill. What William needs right now is support from people who care about him.

@William: You, my friend, are NOT going to commit suicide, so banish those thoughts from your head. You are going to keep on living until the day you start seeing light again, and then you can keep on living.

I know it's hard...I know from personal experience, but all you need to do is hope. If you have no hope left, then get a good dose of stubbornness and grind your way through the days.

It's in times like these that one finds inner strength. One day you'll be back to normal, and will look back on these days, and will realize how much stronger you are as a result.

If you can't break through it by yourself, that's what we're here for. PM me if you want to chit-chat.

I'd advise a martial art. Anger is good, better than sadness. If you channel it into some sort of contact sport, like boxing, your frustration will just fade away.

Tested.

Thanks Winterfate for the kind words, although I already thanked you in HCM.

And Doomforge, I've been wanting to take up Boxing for a while. I have a punching bag of my own and when I'm angry I usually go out there and punch it. Just that this time, I didn't think and punched my door instead. Eeep.

Hey, what about me?

You're 18, he's 19, you're not the same age at all.

PS: Somehow this thread reminds me, that here in Denmark, they're talking about the possibility to send people down to age 19 into war now (I think it's 22-23 as it is now), and not only doesn't age tell you that much about how mature you are (I know people who're about 17-18 (5 years younger than me) who're much more mature, than I am, and I know people in their 30's, who doesn't seem very mature at all), but according to a science program a saw (yeah lack of sources of information), the age hasn't fully evolved before the age of 25.

At age of 25, it should then be possible to actually check how well the person does in these kind of situations, and if not well enough, then this person should never be send into war.

Well enough OT from me I guess.
