Id say this is a great idea, my only theory is that I strongly suspect that given tradition, Ubisoft will go for the same universe as HOMMV for the time being.  I suspect that such an idea for Heroes VII though would be very interesting indeed .

Im always a sucker for dark/low fantasy aswell as high/light fantasy but as I said for the time being, I think Ubisoft will stick with what they know, they've already milked two spin offs from it.

going on with the 2-faction abilities:

Jangsin-Carthan: Patience (+defense, max hp; -ini, speed)
Carthan-Lyrian: Protect Ally
Lyrian-Ruska: Block Path (+defense, -speed, ini, attack; automatically attacks passing enemy units, causing them to stop on that field)
Ruska-Norse: ?
Norse-Numador: Battle Rage (+for damage, ini and speed; -defense)
Numador-Tarakee: Skirmish (makes unit capable of passing through small units (either friendly or hostile, yet getting damage from the latter) and some small obstacles)
Tarakee-Asrin: Rush to Battle (high +for speed, if attacking in melee!)
Asrin-Jangsin: Maneuver (The unit gains the comabt ability with the same name, beign able to avoid close contact to enemies)

(wow, you've been busy Jiriki)

those skills are great.

as for the Ruska/Norn skill, possibly something like "double heft" meaning more damage is done per attack, but the unit has a initative decrease.

yeah, sure.

I will say that these skill will transfer special abilities to the units. so these skills are abilties based.

the faction specific ones are all abilities based, like manevuer and skirmish.

carthians: Carthian fire-  when the unit is being attacked, the enemy has a 20*number damage and be stuck for 4 turns.

Norns: against all odds- when fighting a higher level unit, the unit blessed with this tactic gets a multipler on attack, damage and initative.

Jangsin: death before dishonour- a unit with this tactic will never be subject to negative moral or fear.

Asrin: explosive demise- upon defeat, a unit with this tactic explodes.

numador: lay traps behind- if a unit ever retreats due to fear or is killed, then the space they occupied becomes boobytraped.

Ruska: Purge the minds- any unit fighting this unit has all their tactics removed.

Tarakee: brother bond- links two units together. if one is defeated, then the other becomes enraged.

Lyrians: steady in the ranks- the unit cannot move, but receives bonuses for defence and moral.

something like that.
