the skillwheel(3.0) i use states that both require scouting, but i am playing the original toe, not the patched version

This is extremely strange... am I the only one that has a "special" version of TotE?

This is what my Skill Wheel shows:


And I checked the game's internal files, and it's true!

I somehow must have a different TotE

I'm quite sure it's wrong, since the game's internal files say that Teleport Assault requires Pathfinding.

Maybe you should test and see how it is with your game... I mean, it can't be possible that I have another version of TotE, right? Otherwise, I couldn't play online.

Yes there are two skillwheels:
1.Aurelian_skillwheel(hosted on Celestial Heavens)

This is showing that you can't have SwiftMind and Teleport at the same time

2. You can find skillwheel in GameFolder/FanDocuments/ and it shows that you can have them two at once

That is the source of the problem but someone must check which skeelwheel tels the truth

When you mouse over the "Skillwheel 3.0" a version number is also displayed, mine says 3.01 and it's the later one, where you can't get both.
Then again i use Xazardous_Skillwheel_3.0.2 MOD for the ingame skillwheel (you can look at it in the middle of an upgrade (after you see what is offered))

In 3.0 ToE, i can confirm that dungeon teleport assault 100% require pathfinding, not scouting.

Might dungeon with teleport assault is great.

Those foul hydras and red dragons is great with teleport assault, ofc this is not againts dark abusers, but be warned, you almost never cast any spells, just tele assault those two and the rest, usually red dragon get the highest priority, since he will be your opponent most favourite target, but if you get some lucky position (i mean your opponent formation), foul hydra may be the first to teleport. Sometimes if you have phantom image and lucky in atb position, you can dual breath attack with red dragons, but i prefer TA+incinerate than dual breath attack (phantom imaged red dragon + real red dragon) because in my experience, TA+incinerate have much better final outcome/result.

If i'm not mistaken, in very late game fight, a teleported creature do much more dmg than emp lucky implosion with 50 SP.

Also, you can exploit elemental chains easier with teleport assault, you can taste might elemental chains.

If you are sure you can pwr creep without magic, forget about magic, get all those might skills and teleport and elemental chains.

The only drawback for teleport assault is you must forget swift mind.

Well, i somehow feel teleport assault is best used with dungeon, not inferno, not academy, not fortress.

I never try it in path 3.1, no comment for patch 3.1

If you're wondering why dungeon can't have swift mind and TA at the same time, i belive this is for balance reason, i tried it once, using swift mind + TA on red dragon and foul hydra, it is too imba.

As i was thinking about this TeleportAssault+SwiftMind combo they seem do not fit together. SwiftMind is for Heroes who want to win using magic as main power and the teleport is for might army. And i the better combo seems to be Empathy+Teleport.

I still prefer swift mind + TA, you can first strike.

Ofc empathy+TA is better in the long run, while swift mind + TA is better for first strike. In case of dungeon, which has a fragile troops i still prefer swift mind + TA. Though againts fortress and another high def factions, empathy+TA maybe better.

I really wouldn't classify the Dungeon troops as fragile some don't have the best defense but they are not fragile. I think against high def factions magic works great because you can soften them up with magic and then send in all you troops to finish them off.

A good combination of Might and Magic. You have leadership for might, and defense + destructive for magic, plus luck to boost both ways. I prefer Socery over leadership, though. Dungeon's might is usually not "might' enough and I think it is better to stick to destructive.


Haha, this is almost exactly how I play Dungeon (my favorite town)! And Kythra is my main hero usually. lol!

I think Defense is way to powerful to overlook. 10-20-30 % damage reduction? Just think about it...

ok so mabey its not the absolute best to depend on magic alone. like greendragon said defence is pretty good esp because the dungon relies on a fast paced close combat style. but I really think that thats all you need aside from a full repitour of magic.

my ideal sinitar(me and a friend of mine always play until we cant choose anymore skills) is like this
enlightenment: entelligence, scholar and mentoring
destructive magic: all masters
luck: soldiers luck, magic resistance and warlock's luck
sorcery: arcane training, erratic mana and arcane excellence
irresistable magic: empowered spells, dark ritual, elemental chains and rage of the elements
then i've got one slot left; I fill it with light magic if I know i get divine vengeance(and empowered divine vengeance)
if i know i wont get it it depends on my friend's civilisation...

the only prob wioth that is that usualy we don't get the opprotunity to wait a long time and get full skill slots. which is why I preffer mostly magic abilitys.

But that would be fun some time I am playing with my brother I will have to try that
