On that search for reality (OOC)
Ok whoever is interested in this help me out. Do you want stats? Or would you rather .... play it by ear. I would prefer stats and levels. The levels would be called insight but there would also be strengh and all the other basics.
Down to the story.
A philosophicle based understanding, with no evidence, has determined man kinds outlook upon life.
To play out this story
You must know how to roleplay a charachter wether you agree with what they believe or not. Generaly what all the PC's will believe is that there are alternate awnsers. They dont believe for starters that the world is flat.
I'm now taking input, for now.
We are now taking new characters.

A prequal visionary from the game
Some Skills and masteries.
Sword
Knives
Blunt weapons - mace, club, ect
Bow
Bow and sling (no mastery available)
Sling
Some items
Lamp
Candle
Rope
Tar
Glue
Pen and paper
Matches
Tinderbox (1 point in skill required)
There will obviously be fights
There will also be intellectual battles which over all raise insight more than physical bouts.
Feel free to add more but I have a feeling this game will end up challenging many of real lifes questions with mesmorizing awnsers in the end of the game.
The stats will go along the lines with something like this
You have a 6, a 5, a 4, and a 3 to put into these 4 groups
Strength and agility
Intelligence and "street" smarts
Charisma and intimidation (works well with some, works poorly with others)
and finaly Natural healing and Luck
So if you put a 6 for luck and natural healing you can choose 6-0, 5-1, ect.
Stats go up

A very new and interesting concept. Sadly, I'm not sure if this is the thing for me, and I know I don't have time to get heavily involved in a new RP right now. You might wanna consider promoting this in the OSM though, sounds like the perfect RP for people like mvass and baklava to get back to RPing.

Thanks geny, I already started the game here though. Soon the players will be asked to come here for charachter development, then this thread, recruiting and development, will have served its purpose.

I didn't mean you start the game in OSM, I said - promote. You know, send a few HCMs, maybe post a link somewhere. It's just that the more philosophically inclined members rarely visit the Glade, and I think that your RP could benefit greatly from their contribution.

I dont want to give out the end of the game but the only thing I ask is that the charachters be open minded to the point that they will estimate anything, but will believe nothing without solid proof.
I might do that geny but for now I am happy with the positive responce I've recieved from you and Joonas. I hope the start will be enticing enough to get some starting characters playing soon.

You might wanna describe the men taking the teacher hostige a little better. How are your players going to know how to react when they don't even know how they are armed?
I'll definitely will be following this one closely.

Character development
First Main SKills.
You have a 6, a 5, a 4, and an 8 to put into these 4 groups and divde amongst the 2 within that group.
Strength and agility
Intelligence and "street" smarts
Charisma and intimidation
Natural healing and Luck
Street smarts and luck result in IMs or ingame sequencing
Next Secondary skills
This, since is an RPG will be the coolest part in my uneducated opinon. List ALL the skills you want now, and at any part of the game, and skill level 1.
Fire making
Mining
Crafting
Leather working
Gem cutting
Enchantment
ect
Now, some skills wont be existant but most will be.
Depending on your charachters background, you will have so many skill points to level these skills up.
Oh yea you have a basic weapon of your choice (add in skills)
Note. Thats all for character development for now. All you need is to request or adopt a background. Most of you were born into the university. Some of you came from the Mainland erathia (I heard it somewhere before, sue me) Some of you came from here or there. Most of you will create your own background. Ok, GO for it.

I had so much in store for this alternate reality.. The descriptions would entice its reader from its unique universe not exactly like ours or those from empire earth.
I guess someone wanted me to have more time on my hands so I wont start this RP unless people sign up. I'll post one more time on this very soon.

But a few questions first.
Can you provide additional details about the kings and the entire ruling system, along with underground groups and subculture?
Is there a map available?
Do non-human races exist and are they playable?
Do we have fixed class choices when we make a character?
What are the available starting positions right now?
How come the philosopher whose philosophy all kings are bound to is a playable character? Does that character receive more points than those who start at the training center?
Maybe it would be best if you gave an example of a finished character. Might help a lot.

baklava the library closed and i felt bad all weekend.
note to anyone else. over the last two days I developed 3 pages of information and 2 pages explaining the battle system which is statisticle based and incredible considering this is a forum bassed game.
but one player isnt enough for me to type type and type.
I willjust say you missed out on some incredible stuff.
baklava if you want to play this game alone i will type all of this. After people see the battle system I am sure they willwant to play.
heres the just of it.
Red equals a skillthat reflects changes in combat,
Str. More high cards, less low cards (I'm using playing cards todetermine the battles outcomes)
agility. Get away faster.Get more attacks per turn. I was seriously working vigorously to integrate agility into combat balanced. The only possible way to do this was to introduce defence, which in a small way required another skill so I came up with 6th sense.
street smarts
Natural healing Take more damage... I'm thinking to turn this skill in to HP or something
luck. An ace card in the battle deck. maybe more than one.
Charisma. Affects social relations
Intimidation. Affects social relations
Defence just as it says... less damage or no damage taken with better defence rolls
6th sence. fuzzy feelings
I lost motivation to typethe REAL Character development sheet.

Sure. Glad to help out.
We'll see if people get interested. If not, spare yourself from typing It'll become futile if I play it alone after a while anyway.
Though I'm not sure if it'll work. This was off to a bad start, with a grand total of two people saying how the concept is wondrous but they don't have the time.
As far as I see it, this RP would actually require less time than any other. But never mind.
The harsh reality is that people like playing RPs here "by ear", as you called it. That can be fun, but eats up heavy amounts of free time, and in the end comes down to the same thing I did when I was a kid - playing with LEGO blocks with my buddies, with everyone having their character and everyone constructing the storyline as we go.
However, you mentioned right at the beginning that this was going to be a "stat" RP. That automatically turned off TA and several other options.
What you need - though I don't know if it's too late - is a compromise. Something between stats and ears.
But let's leave that for later.

lets take this slow. FOr now I'm going to plainly, simply describe the background...
2 kings, east and west between a body of water (5000 clicks)
war on land and water over a chick
gems are fired thorugh enchantment
gems are sold by a crazy guy to both sides
11 years later the crazy guy dissapears
for 5 years the war persists with mideval weapons
both kings are poor from buying all those gem bullets
after the 5 years the war stops, not ending really, but it stops
years later after they had kids, the kids were grown and the kings die
THE GODS
The god of creation, west. Fire and wind - created things
the god of reality, east. Solids and water - real things
The kids are named after the elements
(we'll worry about the names next class but their names start with an F, Wi, S, and Wa ((this makes things easier to remember too  )))
Ironicly all the kids are bigoted against all other elements and this creates a schisim
(this is kind of a map... i cant draw in the library)
Fire /ocean ocean ocean/ Solids
land /ocean ocean ocean/ dens ect land
Wind / ocean ocean ocean/ Water
now all 4 of them stopped alllll the killing which the kings used to do if people worshipped other gods. But these kids put them in shackles and prisions, and slave camps.

Is this form of info giving easier than reading and reading and reading a story??? I hopeith so... cuz I didnt want to type 3 pages of story, nor rewrite it to compress things down.

So wait, you basically have four kingdoms which, if not at war, at least strongly dislike each other? And Fire and Wind are brothers, just like Water and Metal Gear Solid?
And all of them are terribly biased against each other but now they all accepted a philosophy which unites them?
Besides that, people on the left enslave people who worship the god of the right side, and people on the right do the same to people who worship the god of the left side?
Ok I think I got it. Correct me if I understood something wrong.

I WILL type everything out in a few days in the Logics end OOC, after characters have been developed.... The crazy rich philosopher has not come into play, if he will at all (the future i s unknown) so let me go above and scratch him out. Thats what made things confusing and I'm terribly sorry.... But I will say that was the only change there was.
2 kings, 4 kids. The kings have died and the new 3 kings and 1 queen (Wattilia - water) enslave anyone who believes in any god at all not their own... See, the two kings believed in FAirious and SWarum. All the princes and the queen believed the element they mastered is the godly one.
I would rather awnser questions, and feed the information a little bit at a time until I get around to typing the story version.
