I accept any challenge. For the record earlier we had a match haven vs sylvan and I crushed him Had enlightenment though.

Nothing wrong with light
Just bad luck with f.enemy strike, really bad i mean, i had f.enemy on squires, crossbow and conscripts. If the dragon's strike triggered at least once, battle could have been different.
And no morale , sort of a necroish sylvan

Quite Meanwhile it's high time I awarded a shiny to fiur, he has helped much with the project be it mapmaking advice, testing and improving the map. Plus he is a great guy

Btw Pera will now have to face Arcax for a place in the finals. Best of luck guys, hope your replays will be suitably epic.

Pera and I, ended our games yesterday. It ended 2-1 for him.

First one was Sylvan (me) against Stronghold (him), so I won, and the remaining 2, he got Sylvan and Inferno against my Stronghold both times.

The 2nd match I really had a good Stronghold hero, but on the 3rd the hero had a bad build (forced to get offensive) and worse atributes (because on the 3rd, enlightment didnīt come)

Awesome games

In one of those Sylvan vs Orc games, the Orcs had too much bad luck and ignored the AAs and Druids too much (should have used Horde's Anger on them)

In the other, the Arcane/Druids weren't taken out fast but in this one it's more because of the Treants that entangled the Chieftains - awesome move on Sylvan's part

In the last one... what can I say? Dark Magic really hurts a pure might faction like Stronghold.

Fortress needs to be rebalanced.  It is insta-win on current map version.

Get rid of the summoning gimmick and ban rune of res.

Yes, and since the Stormwind is also modified it is extremely easy.

Just open the GameMechanics\RPGStats\DefaultStats.xdb file in the map with Notepad and search for <ReviveSpellPercent>

Modify the value to whatever you like.

About stronghold how do you feel about its balance right now? Sometimes it feels like it could use a slight boost but I have not played it often enough to tell for sure.

Edit: Alright found it. What would you suggest is best, 30 or 25%?

I also have some suggestions. I had considered not going that far but as it is some upgrades are never chosen and with good reason. But if a few things are modified the game variety will be improved and with it your potential strategies. At worse you'll still not pick the weak upgrades so nobody gets hurt


-One is the vampire princes. Their probability factor would be more balanced at 2 than 3.

-Similarly I feel that necro dragons applying expert sorrow is a tad too much while advanced is formidable enough.

-Brisk raiders are rarely chosen, maybe if I increased their special ride by charge between 30 to 50%? It is rarely a good idea to sacrifice the grim's charge so some compensation is in order.

-Sprites are sad. Maybe give them basic mastery to wasp swarm?

-Lava dragons are nothing compared to magmas. So maybe give them +1 init and slight boost to liquid flame?

-Wardancers need a slight boost to be competitive. Like +1 speed.

-About arcanes I suggest we lower their init to 10 and make master hunters 11. That would make their choice not a not too obvious one. That or somewhat decrease their armour piercing.

-Archdemons are basically a slower version of archdevils whose special is worthless because of their so low mobility. Speed 7/init 12 would be more reasonable.

-Maybe give marksmen precise shot a 4 radius or is it too much?

-Firebolt on firelords effectively makes them a third shooter for fortress and it is at 1.2 modifier too. Would be better to reduce at 1.

Thoughts, suggestions or objections?

All in favour of that one. But I may be biased since I don't like Aracanes wipeing out an entire stack (withoutluck there isn't even enough left to do anything xD luck is just to make it fall where it stands). But I don't think the reduction of the armour piercing is needed since an Initiative of 10 should make them easier to deal with.

Are we trying to change balance of the map or the whole game? If I were you, I'd let it stay as it is. Tweaking number of creatures is enough I guess.

Might as well make it hero6

Tweaking the creatures no. should solve the problem. As for alternate upgrades, what's wrong with them now ?

I don't see what's wrong with arcane archers now, they're already tamed as it is and for sylvan they have as good as none f.enemy only level 1-5 mostly which they can kill easily, least no. of troops and probably the weakest in this duel now.

cross bow men, they're the only good shooter for haven and the numbers aren't that great either.

Yes necro is strong, but they aren't if they don't have high defence really ..

The only true issue for me is vampire princes, the rest depend on how you feel about them. As already stated nobody picks sprites, brisks, lavas, wardancers. I don't strongly feel they should be changed but adding some to the weaker variants could add to the possible strategies.
