Thank goodness at least someone agrees But out of respect for people's opinions and the sake of consistency I will not go down that road. At worst I will reduce rune of resurrection and make vamp probability factor 2 and that's it. Vamps are NOT good as they are now and reducing their numbers will only make it easier for destructive races.

Just remember if you weaken down arcanes and princes, that you can afford to boost their numbers up again (if I remember correctly, you've already decreased the numbers of both of those stacks). Because even though princes are individually broken, necropolis on the whole is well-balanced.

Of course but that is something to consider for the next season should I eventually go for it.

i was just watching the sq(necro) vs elvin(haven) duel.

some notes:

i thought that the vampire princes' torpor is too powerful(it looks like triggers almost as much as the blackbear's paw strike!)
dougal should have stuck the crossbowmen by themselves in a corner and anti-magicked them ASAP
stormwind would have helped significantly against necro(it has 3 flying/teleporting units)
having another small paladin stack(w/ last stand) for healing/uncursing might have been preferable to conscripts; although in this particular setup, it's a bit hard to say, since it seems that you need all the troops you can get.
the charge move by the angels might not have been the best...
zealots was a good choice

necro's strategy and choice of skills was sound; the key always has been to play defensively(having a bigger/slower army) and use dark magic against the enemy

Note that in the first 3 blinds which was pretty decisive, the vampire's hp was higher than the haven troops.
Also the advantage for necro is the hero's turn came directly after haven's hero, which obviously is good for dark magic and a 50/50 chance which necro was luckier.
Even so, the battle was far from a slaughter though ..

yeah, i see what you mean. btw i can see how a destructive mass spell would wake you up from torpor, but i don't understand why it counters blind??? where is the logic in that?

i guess the only way to disrupt that "unlucky" sequence of hero turns w/o waiting is to have empathy or cast a non-negatable mass spell.

Pera is advancing to finals after defeating me in a great style *sigh*

1st round

Necropolis vs Stronghold

Enlightment with Power of Blood and Bodybuilding instead of shatters was a good choice. Even Goblins acquired 2nd stage of bloodrage somehow heh

2nd round

Stronghold vs Inferno

Light Inferno failed versus that massive outcome of Strongholds damage.I played too hot-headed that one...

3rd round

Haven vs Sylvan

Destructive Sylvan vs Light-Dark Haven. Matter of morale triggering. High Druids hadnt got even slight chance to act

In the first game the only thing I have to say is that Decay on the Slayers and then concentrating everything on them was a waste, the spell triggered only once. A better target would have been the Earth Daughters.

In the second one, the Shamans should have attacked the Cyclopes, so that their retaliation would have also hit the Centaurs

Cool games

Orcs without shatters is an unorthodox approach when against the dark arts but arcax calculated the odds correctly, a risk that paid off. My summoning-might necro worked against mamga but would probably fail against this stronghold, battle elation and bloodfire accumulate rage faster than you can contain it. Btw good move placing the shamans under taunt radius before the princes' turn, pretty smart. The only time torpor didn't work.. For those nay-sayers I can only say that they even put 295 12hp goblins to sleep when they were 35 with 34 hp.. But seeing how they torpored just about everything is proof enough, not just in this game - everytime.

The second was well planned from pera. Aura of swiftness and battlecry allowed an effective counter charge that sent inferno reeling. Certainly helped that centaurs acted first.

Final one offers a few reasons why destructive can fail vs haven For one there is the matter of druids falling before you can use them. Destructive cannot counter dark. Should you end up with weakened army and the opponent casts immunity in a key stack it's game over.



Interestingly enough the final will be between tohers. Let's see if pera can deprive sq from a second tournament under his belt

only had time to watch the arcax(sylvan) vs perathekojot(haven) match

for this match it was definitely worthwhile to get both light and destructive. at least you could partially counter mass confusion with mass cleansing, and stormwind/resurrection would have helped high druids and pristine unicorns. would have evened things out considerably...

The decisive part of the game was stats it seems. Nothing much sylvan could have done about that anyway really.
Pera did well with both light and dark, to cover both sides no matter haven hero came before or after sylvan hero.

Agreed. A Destructive Sylvan should aim for more defense, you could check my replay in the Brawl thread to see how hard my creatures were going down with 22 Defense. And although I had a pretty weak build and crappy artifacts, I managed to win (ok, I was lucky that my opponent didn't have Magic Immunity, but still...)

While waiting for those lazies() to finish here is the new version for the upcoming tournament, Chaos Duel.

Every battle has an element of randomness. Weapons slip from sweaty hands, troops stumble on rocks, mistakes are made. But here Chaos truly reigns supreme! Embrace the randomness and may the luckiest win.

Three rules only.

- Do not hire units from town.
- Haven cannot have more than 25 champions.
- Academy may not create lvl 3 mini arties.

All spells and artifacts are enabled with a few exceptions like pendant of mastery, scrolls and wands. For some extra mayhem I threw in a free relic, enjoy. For the record I made no changes to the game files though I reduced vamps by 4.

I'll start adding those who want in to speed up the process, would be no fun to wait a week after the final takes place.
