It actually takes 6 skills to get teleport assault. But just the same, yes, I would consider taking it against certain factions. As I said I've playtested it and it worked out nicely in some cases. You're not really wasting much since taking teleport assault means you don't have to invest in a magic skill. You just spam teleport assaults all fight and suddenly your pit spawns are going just as often as your nightmares and you can get them wherever you need them.
Demonlord is the only faction I'd recommend. Wizards and Warlocks have better things to do with their hero turns and it would be a complete waste not to take advantage of their spell power and racial perks.

For demon lords it takes 6 skils, but only 4 of them are useless. For wizards, warlocks and runemages, it only takes 4 skills, and only 3 of them are useless. I have hardly tested it, so I don't really know. Thats why I asked. I am planning to do some testing soon

Well I kinda agree it could be useful but only for Demon Lords.
btw, does Teleport Assault work with Sorcery? (since Sorcery is also useful to get Distract against very powerful magic factions)

Why wouldn't it? On another note defend us all and battle commander are kinda ineffective for this map so don't try any experiments during the tournament Defend us all in particular gives 15 goblins only.

Teleport Assault + Expert Sorcery + Empathy = Inferno acting A LOT. 
Too bad Empathy is so hard to get... why does it need Arcane Exaltation anyway? I thought only magic factions need that for Empathy.

Interesting TA seems to be effected by Crippeling Wound. If you TA a crippled unit it's atb value will not be 1.

TA doesn't set the ATB to 1. It adds +0.5 to the ATB, so it CAN be 1 if the current ATB is > 0.5, but it can also be below as well.

Demon Lord turns worthless? Even with spellpower of 5 or so (easy to get on this map) you can be very effective with dark magic! Mass Confusion, Mass Slow, Frenzy, Blind, PuppetMaster, Vampirism, Mass Weakness...
TA on a stack of pit lords/fiends would be "okay" I guess but between gating and the Devil special ability you can get 3 stacks of Pit Fiends/Lords going which is enough I think.
I usually start with mass confusion then try to one of frenzy/blind/puppet master whatever stack is about to attack next that I know will do some heavy damage to my units. Mass slow if nothing is about to attack.
I don't think the Demon Lords turn is worth sacrficing for TA. And Dark Magic only takes 4 levels to be very useful (Expert and Master of Mind)

But if you're fighting Dungeon you don't really need to weaken the enemy's units that much since the biggest problem is the Warlock's spells. Also, if you're fighting with someone you know has Light Magic it's not such a good idea to cast Dark Magic either (it will probably get dispelled with the opposite spell)

Destro vs Odiak result 2-0
Game 1 Destro23 Inferno vs Odiak Haven
Game was a close match, with puppet master, mass confusion, and nice placement of obstacles being the deciding factor. I believe end of battle left standing were my pit lords.
Game 2 Destro23 Academy vs Odiak Sylvan
Game was not so close as first, with again dark magic in the form of puppet master, nice fireballs from arch mages, and a big big phoenix led to Odiaks eventual defeat. There were some battle errors made on sylvans side in this duel but I think the outcome would not have been affected tooo much.
Destro23 wins 2-0
