Regarding Heroes....
I am confused about one rule that some make.. I am wondering what is the explanation behind this.
No 4th level heroes as main... hmmmmm
who would take Jeddite over Hack anyway..
and isn't tazar untouchable (or close to it) without magic?
Why should these powerhouse heroes be included in main selection.. when in all reality they are far better than the run-of-the-mill lv4 hero.
IMO : Hack, Tazar, Mephala, Neela, gundula, thorgrim, Gurnison, Galthran, Isra, and undoubtedly others are far better heroes than most of the lv4 guys..
I mean sure you can scholar those powerful spells to your main hero.. but you can also build a guild. Lucky guild is no different than lucky level 4 starters..
Oh well just curious 
btw: In my opinion the best lv4 magic hero out there is that mad man Lyonis..

open maps make a difference
If you saw soly. deemer, ect week one or early week 2 on an open map, mebe that would be understandable, but I agree with your argument destro. I never use the lvl 4 heroes (I just want a scholar)

Indeed open Maps make a world of difference...
I guess more what I am wondering is when :
my line up consists of Piqueer, fiona, tiva, torrosar, raska, Xsi, sylvia, and soly.
its day 3, I have seen Tazar, Gundula, and alamar in the tavern.. loooooooooool
I can't use soly are you F*****g serious!

Well if you start with jeddite for example you can do alot of things way earlier than your opponent. Would take him a while longer to upgrade his guild to lvl 4 or get advanced wisdom forexample. So while he is building guild and spending coutnless resources youa re in the middle on SD3, getting unstoppable and all the goodies early week 2
Just an example. hehe
I personally dont care what hero they use! I agree with destro give me Isra and I will be happy =)

I like Tarosar ... yeah, he can't fire his ballista worth a DAMM, but he has tactics ... and Tower NEEDS tactics (for me).
Also, Rashka = good scholar who has wisdom and scholar already. If you really want CL, use him as main.
otherwise, if such is a rule I must live by ... I make Solly my power-scout (rook, not queen) ... he'll have all the iron golems, and perhaps some left-over joiners ... and when the time comes ... I can sneak in Solly in my town and hide, with just a few troops and Iron golems.
hehe, my opponent fell for it a few times ... and had to surrender

hehe, don't forget mullich
it's a tough choice with each of these, but I'd pick Mullich over all these guys, including the lvl4's (unless I'm necro ... because more skellies are a priority)

Hey!
Mullich rules rych
Everytime I have used him, the second skill he gets is logistics ))
adv leadership and log makes a great hero.
But I would still pick Thorgrim/Hack/Tazar/Neela/Melphala/Gundula over him anyday.
The skill specialty heroes rule at high lvl

I agree with this fact, I mean he is very good in the beggining, but at a high level (and almost on every map u get yur hero at least at lvl 12-13 even if it is open) the heroes that destro mentioned are much better than him (e.g. Hack, Tazar, Mephala, Neela, Isra etc).

I think Mullich is as good as those others even at high levels ... especially if you have speed boosting artifacts ...
to give dendroids / ogre magi a speed of 8 ... or have minotaur kings cross board in one swoop ... or even to have arch devils move before opponent's archangels every time ...
well, when I'm inferno on a large / XL map, I usually get 100 demons by beginning of week 4, and I'd prefer mullich over hack / tazar when I got 100 demons ... even though it IS a tough choice.
