The endless possibilities part reminded me of something funny. Say you want to find a specific path between N points. To find the path you're seeking, it'll take N! [That is N * (N - 1) * (N - 2) * ... 3 * 2] steps to compare all possibilities. On the other hand, if you just want to create all possible routes out of N points, it only takes N + N - 1 + N - 2 + ... 3 + 2 + 1 = N * (N + 1) / 2 steps.
Which is order of magnitude N vs. order of magnitude 2.
So to find the path you want to take may be much more difficult than to find all paths there exists.
