@ TheDeath

My posts were a reply to Asheera's and then you come in here and start saying what your definition of bad and cartoonish is, when I don't even think you really understood what the conversation was about. Everyone has different likes and dislikes but my replies were to Asheera and not you. Maybe you should re-read my posts...

Why do you always resort to such out of the point replies when you realize that what I said makes perfect sense, but only after you have asked something? If you don't expect others to reply then use HCMs

And yes Adrius, some games are meant to be with cartoonish graphics, and might be enjoyable -- however WoW tries to be serious and cartoonish at the same time, that's what makes it

I'm sure TF2 wasn't ever conceived as being serious

Seriously, stop. Read the posts in this thread. You suddenly come in here and then start saying that I might not have understood Asheera's point, but i did understand it since she was talking about cartoonish graphics (the same as I had been doing). It's YOU that isn't making sense. But let's drop this, I'm just sick of you trying to make some kind of argument out of every thread, usually directed towards me when I disagree with Asheera (most of the time).

This is going too off-topic though (like we usually do )

Just think what would happen if there was a hard metal music in a game like Heroes, and then you can understand what I mean with "silly" graphics ruining the game for me

Silly there means inappropriate for the game type. As Death said, cartoonish graphics might fit some games, but when it's done for a game like WoW (which should be "serious") then it's like having hard metal in HoMM.

I hope it's clear now.

I don't care who you disagree with, I'm not taking this personally like you. I only presented the difference between cartoonish graphics and bad graphics. I haven't been as off topic as you think I have, since I talked about GAMES and gave example of graphics from two games (Gothic and TF2), which are a part of game, so I haven't really been off topic. It's not me who gets personal about it.

If you want to have fun for a while playing a cool game then buy Fable.

If you want to throw away all care factor for social life and friends in exchange for an outdated and poorly drawn cartoon grind-fest that sucks out your soul and replaces it with the slow growing but ever present realization that you are wasting your life on a nonexistant personality in an environment engineered solely to waste as much of your time and money as possible, then get the new WoW.
I mean I heard there's like a new class, or something.

I COULD NOT RESIST!
How dare you attack the might of the World of Warcraft!!!!

Anyway Fable 2 looks awesome but I will buy WotLK (which looks amazing - in graphics, lore, gameplay, new game technology = ultimate expansion) because its the most awesome game ever.
Fable 1 was also one of my favorite games but it was too short.

And now I will go off-topic and defend top number one favorite game!

1. WoW is 4 years old - the graphic is not good (but seriosuly, the graphics in the second expansion - Wrath of the Lich King - is breathtaking).

2. The Graphics are not very good because most computers should be able to handle WoW - which it does. That is one of the reasons of WoWs success I think.

3. WoW graphics are Warcraft graphics. Look at Warcraft 3 - its basically the same graphic style. WoW would be a completly other game without it.

4. What is wrong with the Warcraft lore?
I have to say that the progression of the story in WotLK is amazing. The truce or pact between the Alliance and the Horde is finally over and the intentions of the undead Forsaken is revealed...

But I do admit that WoW is a grind game
Either you are grinding raids for epic items, grinding honor in the battleground PvP, grinding reagants for your potions and crafted gear etc, grinding gold etc...

However PvP will be so much better in WotLk with siege engines and all quests are so much cooler.

Here is an example of good lore in WoW

After a long quest chain its revealed that the Forsaken (undead who are "members" of he Horde) have betrayed there allies.
So you go into there capital (Undercity) and find out that it has been occupied by demons and the forsaken betrayers.

With the help of Warchief Thrall, Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner, Witch Doctor Vol'jin you destroy the gates and fights inside the Undercity.

However the elevators down to the actual city has been destroyed, and down there is huge spikes.
So Thrall calls upon the elements to slowly levitate down in the destroyed elevator.

You fight lots of demons and a demon boss and then Thrall destroys the gates to the Royal Quarter where the leader of the forsaken betrayers (aka Varimthas - a dreadlord) is located.
You kill him with a legion of Kor'kron (elite soldiers of the Horde) and with the help of Sylvanas and Thrall.

But suddenly, after Varimthas is dead, you hear the noice of Alliance horns.
The returned king of Stormwind - King Varian Wrynn - comes charging in with his royal knights and a fight starts.

But then the archmage Lady Jaina Proudmoore teleports into the room and freezes everybody - stopping the fight.
She says "It did not have to be like this" and teleports the Alliance army back to the capital of Stormwind.
Anyway, the Alliance declares war here and all the many year Jaina and Thrall worked so hard on restoring the relasionship between the Alliance and the Horde has been crushed in a few seconds.

Back in Orgrimmar, the Horde capital, you see Forsaken refugees everywhere and Orgrimmar is in chaos - all shops are closed and the citizens are demanding answers...

--------------

That was only a small part of a lore quest and there is an Alliance version too (where you also attack the Undercity - at the same time as the Horde does but with Jaina, Broll, Valeera and Varian).

Geez man how many times must I point out those examples with bad vs cartoonish? It's not whether the graphics are "not very good" or "good", it's whether the DESIGN is cartoonish or not. Period. Absolutely nothing to do with performance excuses.

Inappropriate Graphics = Bad Game

And this is what I was talking about with the trees:

Everybody knows that Heroes 5 has a cartoonish style, right? Well, it doesn't bother me, because it's well-made, unlike the Warcraft 3 one.

Let's compared the Heroes 5 Tree (right) with the Warcraft 3 one (left):

As you can see, the Warcraft 3 one is not only cartoonish, but made in a childish way as well

It's enough to look at the buildings to see how cartoonish it looks

This wouldn't have been a problem if the lore was not meant to be serious, but look at the cinematics for example (how "serious" and real they try to look like).

Gothic 1 is older than Team Fortress 2 and yet it is less cartoonish. Did you read what I posted regarding this?

Warcraft doesn't just have bad graphics -- it has cartoonish graphics. BIG difference. Bad graphics are fine. Cartoonish are not, especially when set in a lore that is partially serious. Mixups always suck.
