Let's keep HeroesCommunity away from becoming it HeroesEliteSociety
Let's keep it as community...
Let's discontinue threads which will make us virtuall uneven one against each other.
Let's not promote/propose/provoke "fake" awards, fights, rivals or whatsover like it. We are here to talk, not on a battlefield, movie or soapopera - after which we got the prizes.
See if we were putting here maps to be judged or campaings - or something in which can be given some value - then - we may organize something like this. But just for the sake of organizing award show... gee - we don't need it.

Yep , I agree with u here Malkia, It'a always funny to see how the same veterans do those award threads in which they award themselves ( of course there are exceptions). But different from u, I don't mind that at all - let them award as many prices as they want, maybe after a while they'll get sick of it  .

Yeah, reminds one of high school
Popularity contests or something... I'm not sure. I guess all groups eventually start doing that though. Some people just need to feel loved and accoladed to function. At least it's still relatively open, some newer posters win some awards, so if it's an equal opportunity elitist society...

I disagree. The award threads are for fun! We can see who's the best in what. Everyone is good at something. And with the award threads, we can see what their talents are!

I see no problem with a thread like the awards thread. I mean, it's mostly harmless, and isn't spamlike as long as people don't start a handful threads about the same thing.
It is true that it pretty much is just a popularity contest though. At least for some of the questions.
I also get the impression that people are feeling "down" when they don't get votes in some places. Heck, I was a bit irked to see that RMS had like 3 or 4 times as many votes as myself in the Favorite Mod thread, but I guess people have their reasons.
I also thought that the "biggest spammer" award is sort of mean-spirited. I mean, all it can do is make the people who are picked feel bad. I just felt bad reading it when I saw Milena get so many votes on that one.

...I don't think there's nothing wrong with is, so long as nobody is offended...and since the original intent of the "biggest spammer" award was not intended for the purpose of making some of us look stupid, but rather to point out some supposed flaws in people, and get them to amend their ways, I guess it in itself is not wrong...but it would be nice to remove that category...
...and actually I was quite suprised that I got voted for at all...not that it makes me feel any better about myself or anything...just seemed interesting
...being the huge "spammer" that I am and all...
...and besides, what's wrong with an elite, anyway? no matter what, it's an unstoppable element of life, whether formally recognized or not...
