this is heroes of might and magic and heroes of might and magic is a turn-based strategy-series. This is DEFINITELY a point that should be kept, IMO. If I want to play a realtime strategy game, I play mark of chaos, total war or whatever...but not heroes!!!!!!

TBS. On a more serious note, this shouldn't warrant a poll, or even a suggestion. There is no way you can make HoMM6 a RTS game and still be able to call it part of the HoMM series, I mean you might as well remove heroes or towns.

TBS! That's the game's charm. Otherwise there are a lot of RTS games out there which we could play instead.

Now, a HoMM based RTS would surely be fun, but then I'd demand that Nival hire another game developer to make it while they're working on H6...
I don't want a HoMM RTS to hinder the development of the "real" game.
But still, I'm sure it would be fun

Umm.... TBS x 1,000. I thoroughly enjoy RTS as well but there are a plethora of RTS's out there I could play and Heroes is a longstanding TBS game. If it was changed to RTS I wouldn't even consider it the same game series anymore. It's like saying that World of Warcraft is actually Warcraft 4; the Warcraft games and World of Warcraft are two completely different games even though they're based on the same world.

Its been discussed before and the best idea I heard was calling it generals of might and magic, a new series.

RTS would be godawful.
RTSs are fun, but TBSs are great because you can take it leisurely relax and really enjoy yourself while simultaneously plotting out great strategies.
RTS in a Heroes of Might and Magic Game= no thank you.

TBS, for me, are relaxing but they usually take a lot more time than an RTS would and after a while it just gets boring. I don't think that a HOMM RTS would be necessarily bad, but it would have to be done very well.
I mean, if you think about it, right now in HOMM you can have a stack of monsters right? Well you can divide the stacks and then they might become a single unit. Well if it was an RTS game then it would be the same kind deal except that you would be controlling them in an entirely different way. I'm imagining something like AOK since that is one of the best RTS games imo.
Actually, now that I think about it, something like Age of Mythology would work quite well. You could have the Mage Guild and be able to cast spells on a building or on a group of units from the enemy side. If you think about it, it would work quite well. It would be different yes, but the player would probably adapt quite easily.
I guess i would want something different for a change, so I will vote for RTS.

TBS Definnately keep it as turn based.
I world like a might and magic RTS game but it should be called something like Lords of Might and Magic or Might and Magic Strategy
Game(please no!)not a part of heroes of might and magic.

As they made a rpg/adventure variant of this series and universe, they could consider to do also a rts variant. Of course not naming it heroes. Something like Warlords, which is originally a tbs, but they made also Warlords battlecry, a rts equivalent, which is pretty good game, maybe little outdated (lol, isometric 2D games in 2004).
I once tried to make heroes gameplay in warcraft rts style, but they I dropped, because of other things (terrain, story, and other design issues).

TBS. It wouldn't be heroes if it was RTS.
However, there might be a spin-off in RTS, or a Sequal of Dark Messiah (RPS/FPC/HNS)
But Heroes of Might and Magic 6 has to be TBS ofc
