Heather walks out on the desert sand, looking around.

"I'll imagine dying in a desert...whatever storm later. Sadly enough, it's all gone."

Heather walks over to the corpse, and nudges it with her foot. As she expected, the corpse was also very dry. Seemed to have come to a bit more harm, being chilled, then heated so fast.

She then recalled the creatures falling from the sky, wondering if there would be some trouble.

Galen cautiously exited the wagon. On exit he looked up at the sky for a few seconds before returning his gaze to the ground.

"I wonder if I'm actually still asleep in the library..."

He kicked up some sand as though that would somehow answer his question. When it didn't, he scratched his chin before looking back up. He then held his arms out as if he was waiting to catch something. After a few moments of futility, his doubts were erased.

"Damn. Alright, wonder what are those other two are up to..."

Xerces's chest beat faster and faster.   He quickly pried his eyes away, covered them with his hands, and titled his head down in a vain attempt to ignore the dreadful force sitting across the room.  It had seen him.  It was here for him.

"Xerces?  Xerces?" Erin prodded the tormented teen in the side with a light jab.  David and Sherry remained transfixed on the creature.  David had never seen one before and while Sherry had, something was different about this one.  It wore the skin of a man poorly and its clothes were alien.  A matching black coat and pants, a white shirt, and a strange scrap of midnight hung from its neck.  Its skin was jet black except for two milky globes sitting in the middle of a face.  It had no nose, no mouth, no ears, no hair; just two ivory globes juxtaposed with ebony skin.  The Odd paid little head to the gawkers, keen on the wretched soul slinking away.

"Hey, Xerces are... you...... o............." Erin stopped.  Xerces stared at his friend, frozen in her mousey frame.  He flashed a hand.  Nothing.  David stopped too and so did Sherry, the partons; the entire world.  Xerces brought his eyes to match the Odd's, only to discover he was no longer sitting in the corner.  He blinked.

"Was it all a dream?" he muttered in the split-second his vision was detached from the world.

++No++

Xerces's blink ended, revealing the Odd standing in front of the table.  It raised its endlessly dark hand to Xerces's forehead and pointed a finger.  The teen could only watch in silent horror as oblivion loomed closer.

++You don't belong here, traveler++  Then everything went white.

What seemed like an eternity later, Xerces awoke to a chilly air kissing his body.  It was blowing fiercely.  Or at least that's what the disoriented Xerces assumed.  The wind wasn't blowing; he was falling, rapidly.

"No, no, no, no!" Xerces cried as he plummeted towards a yellow expanse below.  He braced himself for the impact that would shatter his weak frame.  "NNNOOOOOO!!!!"

The young man crashed into the ground, landing right next to an ancient skeleton and a confused looking woman.

Hearing something from above, Heather looks up, and sees a small dot in the sky. Louder and louder it became. Slowly, it increased in size.

“Great. Another one. Why are they all falling here...?”

Heather makes no attempt to save the individual from crashing into the hot, dry sand below. She made sure she was well away from being crashed into.

“...What is so special about this spot? Probably one of those careless magic using people Elder was always ranting about, messing around with things they shouldn’t...”

The individual crashed into the sand, sending some dust into the air.

“...‘Who are the ones that get hurt by the careless ones’ meddlesome ways,’ Elder always asks...”

Heather walks over to the person, and, taking hold of his shoulder, she turns him onto his back. She remains ready to kick him in the head, if she felt the need. The sight of the being in front of her was the confusing part. It looked similar, yet different enough, to that of the skeleton that rose from the desert sands before.

“...Well, in this case, I’m not sure what it hurt.”

Guess Who is Back?

When the snow started falling and it became to white to see, Najash stopped making sound with her tail and moved after what she heard from the others around herself.

She came in contact with an wagon, then she crawled up on it, and found it full of crates and one half-orc which opened them and took out both water and food. Trying to be as silent as she could, she lowered her body and crawled around the crates and tried to hide herself amongs them.

Soon after, the snow stops and the half-orc exits the wagon, giving Najash the oppertunity to really move and find a good hiding spot amongs the crates. Then other creatures fell down from the air.

Stargust looks around, right before the snowstorm and ponders the identity of the strange creature across from himself.

Suddenly, woosh!

Snow was everywhere.
Stargust made a feeble attempt to conjure flame but the sheer cold broke his concentration. Then, as suddenly as it had began, it stopped, replaced once again with the merciless heat of the desert:

"What...is...going on here?", he said slowly.

He then noticed the half-orc and the halfling and waved towards them, just before...

This time it was someone falling from the sky. He started casting Feather Fall. To his horror, the spell had the opposite effect, causing him to land with an even louder thud than expected.

Stargust rushes over to see if he is okay.

Galen failed to notice the gorgon as his attention was on the latest thing to crash to the desert floor. He saw Heather and Stargust and jogged over there. Once there he peered over the new arrival before nudging it with his boot.

"Is it-is he alive?"

"I...didn't...mean...to", was all that came out of Stargust's mouth before he started thinking of ways to wake him up. Coming up blank, he asks those present ((that he knows are there)):

"Umm...there wouldn't happen to be a priest, ranger or paladin among you guys would there now?"

He smiles awkwardly as he looks around for something to bind Xerces' wounds:

"If I can't heal you, I can at least keep you alive."

A strange stench fills the air near the wagon.  It is vile and sickening, and getting worse.  Eight tendrils errupt from under the wagon, and start feeling around.  When it feels the corpse, two pull it into the ground.  The rest keep searching, and are getting awful close.

Stargust pauses for a moment. Recognition enters his mind as he quickly identifies the creature:

"Carrion Crawler! Don't let it touch you!"

Stargust starts to walk back and then attempts to cast Scorching Ray at the giant worm. A bead of sweat drops from the side of his forehead. Nothing is certain with magic being as it is. The spell could fail, or worse...

The ray goes off as normal, and damages the creature.  Not before one of the tentacles smacks into you (Casters and their low armor class), sending you head over heals.  Your high resistance to paralyzation saves you from being paralyzed but not from the damage inflicted.

Pain. This was something Stargust had not suffered for quite a long time. He felt lots of it when he was smacked by the creature's tentacle. He slowly gets up, lucky to still be able to move ((I made the save. )), and quickly considers his options:

"I'm going to need help, so there's really only one action to take."

He turns to the Crawler, knowing full well it can't understand Common, and says:

"Time to stall."

He starts chanting Daze Monster.

When the giant bug showed up, Najash prepared herself for battle, she started crawling against the end of the wagon, closest to the bug. She putted her hands on her swords, ready to draw them, and waited for an oppening.

When the elf wizard started to attack, and the bug blew the wizard away, Najash saw an opening. She jumped at the enemy, and used the "draw sword"(don't know what the attack technuiqe is called. The one where you draw your sword in a quick strike and cut your enemy to shreds before shetting it again) attack on the bug.

"Don't ruin my food!" Najash yelled.

*Flashback*
"Arroh, Arroh, Arroh, you never do learn."
Location: Courtyard
"I'm trying!" I exclaimed.
If front of me was Master Yoritami, with his Zwiehander.
"You are a fool! Use your sword! You will be great if you master it someday!"
Master Yoritami was the last of the wanderers, a group of legendary heroes who used their weapons to the greatest extent, and they felled all who stood in their path.
I, was his last hope.
Master Yoritami swung again, and I felt the air harden as he used another art.
I quickly dodged and then swung towards Master's leg.
He was an old man, and he failed to block, his sword rebounding off mine as my sword sliced through his leg.
"Good!"
Master Yoritami dissapeared, and then I saw that it was only one of his clones.
"You really are tricky." I told him.
He just said,"It is time."
*Present day*
I wandered. Wandered and killed. That was why I was here. To kill those evils, and to find those worthy.
Then, it began to snow.
I was alarmed. Surely this must be some sort of cruel joke! It was a desert!
Suddenly, the snow stopped, and I smelled a carrion crawler. It was some distance off, but I could sprint there in a few minutes. What I saw was a surprise.
There was a wagon, with three people. A halfling, a Half-Orc, a man who looked like a mage, and there was a corpse of someone. It looked like the man died before the others go there. I called out to them.
"Hail, unknown travelers! I am Arroh the Wanderer, and I wish to join you, if you are going North. I have not been that way in a long time......"

"Yeah. I smell it."

As the centipede erupts from the ground, Heather takes a quick step back, with the hands going for her shield and shurikens.

"Carrion Crawler! Don't let it touch you!"

"I don't plan on it."

Heather starts running around, throwing shurikens at the Crawler.

She heard something odd though, in a familiar voice.

"Don't ruin my food!"

Heather took a quick look around, and saw few who it could be. This was not the greatest time to be searching though, so she returned to dealing with the matter at hand.
