I then noticed the carrion crawler.
It was preoccupied with those travelers, so I had a chance to strike.
I prepared my sword for an ancient technique.....
*Flashback*
"Keep yourself focused!"
The Swirling Flame.
It was a technique that was used in conjunction with a fire aura.
I was practicing it, even though I was horrible at that sort of thing.
"You are a fool! Focus on drawing out a flame from the void!"
Master Yoritami was always like that.
*Back to present*
I then charged and tried to draw that flame from the now collapsing void....

Galen drew his great blade and prepared to make his assault upon the creature. He was momentarily stalled by the sudden appearance of the gorgon coming from the wagon. Where did that come from? No matter. Galen began his assault ready to cleave whatever came his way.

Faced with so many foes from all directions the Crawler lashed out with all it's tentacles while retreating back into the ground. One of the tendrils connected with the wagon and the whole thing became a raging inferno.
Right as the flames hit the Crawler, so too did the attacks from it's multiple foes. Half buried in the sand, it had nowhere to go, and each hit connected. The creature died with a horrible shriek, but the attackers also were not much better off. The flames that helped destroy the Crawler lashed at them also, leaving none uninjured.

Jared decided to bide his time, treasure sounded good but it could wait. Not that he was not excited at the thought but for now a fair maiden had caught his eye. Which proved to be married. Jared didn't mind either way and when the husband came knocking he did what every gentleman would have done - run the hell out of there. Jumping out of the window he happened to see an elf passing by. Might as well go for it since there was nothing better to do at the moment.
"Just the man I was looking for! Greetings and well met my friend, I heard you were looking for me?"

The elf instantly went to one knee. "Majesty! We have found you at last! It is my dire news that half of your family lay slain, and by process of elimination..you are our new King." he bows his head.

He looks as if he symmpathizes. "Your Highness, I fully understand. Our people are homeless, many are injured, and many more have died. It is your right to give the crown to the next in line, in a ceremony, should you choose. Would you turn your back on your people who now look to you to at least see them through the worst attrocity to happen to them ever?"

Jared can't help but feel things will get worse before they get better but hey, he's always managed to pull through adverse situations. And this time he had considerable motive, high risk high pay.

Najash quickly covered herself in sand and litted ut the small fire that had started to burn her. She then stood up again, her injuries were not so big, so she turned to the elf
"This battle has made my hungry, it's me and you now elf!"
Najash took her hands on the swords and prepared to draw them, cut the elf to bits and the sheat them again. Najash rushed forward.
OOC: I'm attacking! But I don't feel like killing anyone, lets just have a short battle and make friends somehow...

Stargust stares down his new foe...a Gorgon. Rare creatures they were, and this particular one wanted to eat him.
He realized that he was almost out of spells, but he had one left to use:
"Ray of Enfeeblement!"

After using her shield to block the majority of the flames from hitting her, Heather quickly rubbed the shield in the sand, to prevent it from going up in flames, itself. Turning to head back to the others, she saw a familiar being with the mage. It was the same creature as she encountered not that long ago.
"Don't ruin my food!"
Heather finally placed where she had heard the voice. This creature was going for the mage. That was the food!
Heather started running for the two, getting her shield ready once more. Once at an appropriate distance, she starts throwing shurikens at the gorgon. Then, continuing on, she gets ready to bash her shield into the gorgon, just to be sure she is between the two. Once there, she takes out an ax.

((As I have gotten past my block, I want to move this forward..so..time for me to cause a distraction.))
While everybody is squaring off, somebody passes the group. They do not seem to notice the group, but they are somewhat hard to miss. Riding what looks like a giant iguana is a somewhat attractive female wearing 'tribal' clothing. She stops, still unaware of the party's presense and takes out a staff. One of the stones is attached to the staff.
Cutting herself slightly she points the staff toward the ground .. and a spring bursts forth once the blood reaches the stone. She fills her canteens and points to a different patch of ground. Plants grow rapidly, containing small melons..which she picks. Then the vines decay rapidly, leaving more fresh melons just lying on the ground. She gets back on the lizard and prepairs to leave.

Stargust completes his casting of Ray of Enfeeblement, which fizzles horribly and does little more than to give the gorgon (Najash) a cramp on her right hand, causing her to drop one of her swords.
He then notices the female on the iguana and sees what she is doing. He races towards her, asking:
"Where did you get that stone?"

The stranger looks at you and takes a defensive posture. She says something in a strange language, but after a few seconds it seems to translate itself. "The Highlords have gifted me with this. I am a seeker, of what concern is it to you?" The 'iguana' lumbers up behind her, you could swear it is getting in position to protect the woman if needed.

Stargust takes a step back, and then speaks:
"My name is Stargust. I am a mage...a Evoker to be exact, and I've made it my personal mission to try and fix what's going wrong with magic in this world. Apparently, those stones are a step in that direction, although I dislike the requirements for usage. Blood magic always has consequences."
He then takes a deep breath before asking:
"Seeker? What do you seek, m'lady? Perhaps I can help?"

Najash dropped her sword because of the cramp in her hand.
"Curses! Damn wizards and their stupid tricks."
Najash streched her hands a little to get the cramp away, the elf seemed to ignore her as he had walked right up to the female at the lizard.
"His asking for it" she thought.
She picked up her sword and sheated it, she then started digging into the sand((I think I read somewhere that snakes got almost no prolbems with diggin into the earth)) and start crawling against the elf((still under the ground)). She made herself ready to attakc the elf, when she hear what the conversation is about, and stops to listen.

Having the gorgon no longer within the immediate area, Heather turns to the newly arrived woman the wizard is speaking with. She puts the ax away, but keeps the shield in grasp.
Though Heather doesn't recognize the looks of the tribal clothing, being from a tribe, herself, she recognizes them as being such; or similar, at the very least.
"Who are you, then?"

Galen for the most part ignored the new arrival and tracked the gorgon as it dug under the sand. As he followed the trail of displaced sand he had a bit of wisdom for Stargust.
"You know you really shouldn't leave your loose ends, uh, loose."
And with that, Galen slapped a spot in front of where he believed the gorgon had stopped with the flat of his greatsword.
