Winter has arrived - or not?
well, I just can say it for Germany: The winter seems to finally have come and, after the poor last ones' the start of this is really promising!!! Snow fell all evening and now my hometown is covered by a soft white curtain of snow - not big, but it definitely is a beginning! I have to confess I'm rather happy 
And how about you guys (and ladies)...how is the weather in other countries? Is the winter allready there? Or is, in your home, summer just approaching? I'm just asking because I'm so happy for the winter and got a little interest while surfing here

Here in Romania the weather is somewhat screwed. I don't know about this year, but the previous year we didn't have any snow in December, but then there was snow even in April IIRC.
No snow yet... but it's a cold weather though.

We have white snow in Warsaw/Poland currently, but it always turns black the very next day

We had a snow storm here today.
There was a five hour blackout from 3-8pm or so. Half of the town was out. (Of course my half  ) Add to that the fact that sun sets at 3pm and you know how my day was. 
Of course the electricity had to go out when we had just gotten to the decisive battle with a friend in H5.
So we've got some snow. Not much but some. It's snowing currently.
EDIT: First blackout in ten years BTW. 
Oh and Darksy, I share your pain man...

I know both of your problems. our last two winters were much like asheeras - except we did not have snow in april - if i remember it correctly, april 2007 we indeed had almost 30° Celsius (a temperature that we Germans usually only dream off even in hot summers^^) and I fear tomorrow our snow will also become as black as in Warsaw XD. But its nice to have it whte right now...

Isn't it better to have a snow-free climate with lots of warm days?
You can go cycling every day.
That's what I'd love to do.

I personally like the changing of the seasons - every season has its good (and bad^^) sides and by this changing, it never get boring
I personally would not like to live without snow completely...but snow is rare enough here

No. I hate warm days, especially sunny ones. Give me an overcast day with the ground covered in deep snow over a warm one any day!

Yes, the first "real" snow has finally arrived.
Im very happy because snow is rather rare - even in Sweden.
And black snow = eww...
Time to think about the enviroment then
But then Winter is the season I hate the most (except for "Yule/Jul" which is like your Christmas except it is not religious) because there is ice everywhere and that makes it hard for me to bicycle to school.

Hot is when I sweat even in my home and I need the air conditioner turned on at all times almost.
Cold is when I freeze to death () in the morning or when I get sick quickly.
I've never particularly paid attention to the temperature in degrees though, it's more like instincts

Here in Norway (Atleast where i live) it's -15 degrees celsius(?) at the moment and we had a blizzard yesterday, but we didn't got a blackout Joonas, fortunely.
@Xerox get a kick/spark (no english words for this). It's much better than a bike on snow/ice
Worlds biggest kick (i'm not sure. I've heard some rumor that Finland had a bigger one, but really not sure) and a normal sized one, around 3 km from where i live.
