Septerra Core
Anyone played this game? It was one of the best I have played in those times (1999)
It's a great RPG game. It has an excellent story that keeps you wondering what happens next, and also has many side-quests and puzzles that require some logic thinking.
The combat is also very interesting. It is turn-based, and each character has 6 special abilities. On top of that you have the spells which you cast using magic cards. The beauty of it is that you can combine these cards (not every possible combination, but still there are a lot), to get new spells & effects. For those that played it, if you're wondering, the most damaging and costing spell is the Black Hole, which you get by combining Destroyer (which you get with Gemma's Chaos + Marduk's Law) with the Mirror.
Oh and the music was splendid at times - it fits perfectly with the atmosphere IMO (well, most of the times anyway)
However, there were also some annoying things. One of them is the fact that the Joker card is too overpowered - it makes the game at the end become too easy. If you combine the Joker Card with the All Card, you get a Mass Confusion spell and render your enemies unable to attack. And it doesn't even cost a lot of mana - it's very broken. Of course, you can just refrain from using this combination, but it's still imba nonetheless 
Another thing that annoyed me is the Hell God. It just dies too hard and it's boring - not to mention there were some crashes happening in that long battle and annoyed me even more (since you can't save in battle and when it crashes you have to replay it - not a problem unless it's a long and boring fight like that one with the Hell God)

I didn't play it in a loooong time, I think around 7 years or so ago. I can't believe I still remember most of it 
Still I enjoyed it very much when I played it back then 
And what I found hilarious is that quest with those birds at that tower - how they open that door to some epic treasure after you collect all of them lol 
Another funny thing was Doskias' huge Boulder thrown at you.

I thought I was smart enough to figure that out and collect all of them and now you say this

BTW: the zombies were REALLY annoying meh (so slow)

I forgot to mention about those Summons (Thanatos, Fire elemental, Earth Elemental, etc) - those are awesome as well
