My RAM once refused to work in dual channel. Windows reported that some files are missing and hence can't boot up. A BIOS update was the thing that fixed it.

Dual channel is overrated anyway.
At best it's a 5% performance improvement, check some statistics

While still better it requires only a slot change, I don't see your point.

If your MB doesn't support it, or it is "broken", it's not much of a problem. That was my point

BIOS update is too much of a problem and can be sometimes dangerous.

BIOS update can be a bit of a problem? All I ever had to do was just install the update, then reset the machine and then it was installed fine. lol. It's not that much of a problem.

I had to update my BIOS to recognize the Processor as well.

Also, I re-updated it (with the same version - it's the newest) and that problem with BIOS not showing up doesn't seem to be present anymore (at least not yet... did this update only 4 days ago)

You should be careful when updating the BIOS though, and most definitely should have an UPS, since if the power goes down and you're in the middle of updating it you screw it completely and you can say good-bye to the motherboard

Like Ash said, if you don't have an UPS and the power goes a bit off, just for a millisecond, you can say goodbye to your motherboard.

Some BIOSes use poor flash memory (surprise... cheap), which might put an error if there are voltage fluctuations or whatever. If it's significant, again, you can say goodbye to your motherboard.

With an UPS though chances are a lot less likely to get it screwed up.

Go to Tools bar, select Options and hit the Privacy tab. There you can see how long your cookies will be active (you probably have 'until Firefox is closed' option selected)

Thank you, the suggestion makes sense. Unfortunately it says 'till they expire'. And I am still having the problem.

Edit: So annoying, all my sites are forgetting their info.

It's not only cookies, check the Private Data section on the same Tab (Privacy), just below cookies.

Click Settings and make sure some of those are not ticked. Like: "Cookies" and "Saved Passwords"

If that won't work there is a thread about this problem.

Apparently deleting previous cookies (cookies.sqlite file) helps in some cases.

Wow something is messed up for me.  I found an sqlite file but didn't want to just delete it.

I tried internet explorer to see if it would remember to keep me logged in.  IE wouldn't even let me come to HC saying it was a a malware site.  lol.

That might just be a google problem, unless it happens when you click the link then says it may harm your comp?

I've had some troubles with Internet Today; everytime I've started Internet Explorer (or any other browser), it would only display Google, but would be unable to find any other site beyond Google (which is my starting page)

it seems that I eithe have

1) some serious spyware on my PC
2) A virus
3) or a connection that fails every five seconds or so.

Has someone experienced something like that before? It's really, really annoying

____________
Coincidence? I think not!!!!
