What's the point? I think Opera pwns all the others in speed because it's a little less complex.

And btw I've seen some statistics that suggest Firefox 2 was twice as slow as 3, so Firefox was even slower back then (but old IE versions were even slower I think ). Still, it's the only one that supports extensions (correct me if I'm wrong) which makes it outshine the others.

That's completely false. I have Firefox 2 in "portable" mode because Firefox 3 is unstable in BartPE ('live' mini-Windows XP, can be run from USB/CD) and it isn't slower at all, I could say even a bit faster.

Why should I buy a new car when my old one serves me well?

Just what I think too. Most of my friends tell me I should update my browser, because they complain it's waaaay slower than their browsers which are better. But it works well for me,so I don't see a reason why should I do that.

FireFox with FasterFox is the fastest browser. Being less complex does nothing; its loading the same pages. All that mattes is how you get the info to your computer and how it loads it. FF loads better and with faster fox it can load faster, see the fasterfox thing for how.

As far as I know, Fasterfox is obsolete and not even compatible with Firefox 3

But you can manually do all of the things it does through about:config, it'll just take 5 min.

Yes, so am I. Well I just downloaded it and it seems to work. You have to download it then drag it into the add-ons section of Firefox and it should work fine.

You can install it, but it won't work. Just click "check for updates and compatibility" (for addons) and you should get an error message about it.

Also, I don't even think it's needed anymore (probably that's why it's obsolete) I think Firefox 3 already has that speed-boost from Fasterfox.

help

Once in a while, somewhat of the screen becomes blinking transparent. To fix it, i must use a recovery, but i want to put an end to it. I have a (updated) GeForce Go 7600, but i can't find the right options to get away as before. Well, i can fix the transparency, but then everything would work very slow it never happened before i updated the graphic card...

anybody can help me?

I don't get it. If you use a recovery and it works fine then leave it at that?

Or try updating your drivers. Are you sure they are updated to the correct drivers for your card?

Either that, or the drivers use something in the video card that is broken so if all else fails, try to replace it.

it automatically changes to these options.

Also it's the right drivers, i'm pretty sure (i use DriverAgent)

I don't think it's broken either, becouse when i reformatted my pc (before i updated to the newest update, it worked fine)

But if the driver uses a feature of the video card (which wasn't used before) that is broken, then of course you'll only see it when using that driver or using that feature (aka play games, probably).

Either that, or the respective feature is badly implemented in the drivers (and the card is fine), which means UPDATING them, although you say they are updated...

Install the dam drivers then! Since its geforce its Nnvidea right? Install the beta drivers from their site! Your hardware detector should give away the correct hardware and thus drivers with it.
Install the stable drivers if those fail.

The problem with auto driver install are if they suddenly give you BAD or outdated drivers.

If you install any drivers, then install the stable ones first, because like the name suggests, they are stable. Beta is not yet stable and therefore may have some problems with it.
