this looks really interesting.

Crucador Ename deCultivae
Age: Unknown, looks in early 30's (in reality 666)
Rank: Clergy (Crusader)
Class: Magic-enhanced warrior
Weapon/combat style: magic bloody scythe, conjured via magic whenever he needs it.
Extra: He fights with strictly controlled but near-bursting bloodlust, moving with inhuman speed to decapitate and impale his enemies in unnecessarily gory ways. Much better with less enemies; mobs overwhelm him. Quite a charming fellow when he needs to be.
Appearance:
True Form (kept hidden):

Human (shapeshifted) Form:

Background:
Cultivae was formed exactly 666 years ago during a chaotic civil war. He was the material manifestation of all the hate and greed that erupted during that time. Since then, he has gone through numerous identities and names to avoid suspicion, his powers waxing and waning as the emotions he was founded upon fluctuate in strength across the human lands. Currently, he has the power of an exceptional mortal man, and his current alias is that of Ename deCultivae, crusader. He fights by enchanting himself and his blade ith exceptional strength and speed which, added to his formidable natural combat skills, make him a force to be feared on the battlefield. The king recently knighted him, which he really didn't like because he did not want all the responsibility that comes with being a knight (i.e., taking missions). All that the king and his court know of Crucador DeCultivae is that he is a pious, religiously dedicated man.

Is that overpowered? Can spontaneously created demonic shapeshifters even exist in this game?

Just noticed the question. It fits beautifully in this game. Demonic shapeshifters exist, apparently...

-Deleted Character Entry-

When I think about it this character does not fit neither me or the RP. Atleast I don't think so, would just ended up being chased around by the kings knights. Gonna make a new character(Might be good this time )

Sox, this man is likely to recommend your person to the king.
I was actually kinda hoping that the person would either be someone's player character, or I would simply create my own NPC.

Did you plan on using this character as your PC or just as an NPC? And if as an NPC, will you use it a lot or just once in a while?

Because I had an idea for an NPC already if I wasn't going to be appointed by a player character.

B-E-T-A:
I don't like how your character spits at the king. That isn't believable to me. The king would have him hung for certain. You'd have to provide a long story of how he gets out of that mess.

Also you say that your character is offensive and defensive in combat. Well which is he? I don't see how you can be both.

Come to think of it, Septim is an NPC. I could always have a viscount who is more directly involved with battle and the war, but if you don't see that working, your NPC is good as well.

@ B-E-T-A: No spitting otherwise you'd be chased around the country by the knightly order itself. And there are many many fiefdoms in Mirth, so the fact that the king would be depended on only one would be questionable. King Harold the Saxon of Mirth might not be an extremely active king who is concerned with each and ever member of his royal court, but you're crossing the line a bit.

(and well I couldn't pass up the chance to get a Septim in court, if that's what you mean with the names)

Well, most offensive, the defensive part is if his first strike doesn't hit or his opponent get a chance for counterattack he goes in defensive, he also dodges more than usual.

Also, did I forget to change that with spitting literary? Damn! While I was thinking about what to write I wrote spit on him, but when I thinked about it afterwards I meant to rewrite it so it does not say "spit" literarly, just a metafore. Gonna change that now.

Edit: Dagoth, already know, and I have changed it.

Aslo with names I meant that your names on things are quite (un)original take the empire of Empiriana, why not just say "The Empire of Empire"?

Here's what I've planned out.

Name: Jhiz Raul

Age: 21

Rank: Commoner

actual class: Bardic Fighter

Desired weapon or combat style: Club and Shield

extra feats: Focusing mostly on the club, and maybe a few to allow for effective shield bashing. Others? Nothing really looked into, for the moment.

skills: Disguise, Knowledge: Nobility and Royalty, Perform: Act, Climb, Gather Information

appearance: Strong, charming, healthy looking man, with a club. Normally wears cheap clothing, but has a small supply of some slightly more expensive stuff for when he's out, in disguise. Wears the cheap stuff only because of fear of getting mugged.

Background: Recently captured while fleeing from his last attempt at impersonating a noble. Only guesses can be made as to who he's tricked in the past, seeing as how only a select few of the noble wives have come to the court, with any suspicions of odd goings on from their 'husbands'. There have been a few more than those who have whispered of having secrets being revealed to someone they were no longer sure was the one they had thought.

Disguise: looking like the noble I'm impersonating, obviously.

Knowledge of Nobility and Royalty: Know how to act around them, and such.

Perform Act: Put on a good performance, with my disguise

Gather Information: Know how to get information from them, or about them.

Climb: To help in the getaways that I sometimes need to make, should the main floor be blocked.

And what's so bad about some of the DnD skills?

Oh. Noticed I left out alignment. I had him marked down as one of, LN/LG/NG, before I erased it. Only reason for him doing what he does, is he wants to be a noble. I don't really care what alignment he is, as long as it's one of those.

What exactly do people worship in this world? They do have clergy so they must worship something!

The Light? The Shadow? Thor? Hades? Odin? Heimdall? Ares? Ra? Osiris? Interdimensional aliens? Chuck Norris? Our beloved moderator, Pandora? The Great Cthulhu?

I think it would really help to know (especially helpful for those roleplaying the clergy)...

P.S. Sorry if I haven't read stuff thoroughly enough to notice if the object of worship for the majority of the population in the kingdoms of Mirth and Empiriana was already established.

I think the Church of the Silver Flame from Eberron dnd setting would fit perfectly.

Presented here in slightly modified form:

The priests and paladins of the Silver Flame have battled the forces of darkness for hundreds of years. While it is a relatively young religion, it has found staunch support across the land.

Brief History

The Church of the Silver Flame was born just a few hundred years ago. A massive and unexpected volcanic eruption released a demon lord and its minions, and for a time it seemed that darkness would cover the land. But the upheaval had also opened a path to the force that had bound the demons for an aeon. This silver flame found a vessel in a young woman named Tira Miron; empowered and inspired, Tira rallied the forces of good and drove the fiends back to the black mountain, sealing them in its vaults once more. But Tira's work was not done. Traveling to the cavern where the flame rose from the earth, she allowed her body to be consumed so that her soul could join with the flame itself. Tira now serves as the Voice of the Silver Flame, the intermediary between humanity and the divine.

Over the centuries the Church of the Silver Flame has spread across Khorvaire. Its followers are engaged in a never-ending struggle against the forces of evil. They have fought demons, hunted the lycanthropes (werewolves) almost to extinction, and battled all manner of monsters. But all too often, it is human corruption that proves the most dangerous foe.

Five Edicts of the Church
1. Trust in the Silver Flame. The Voice of the Silver Flame never lies. It will light your way to glory and salvation.
2. Heed the words of the Keeper. The Keeper of the Flame is your emissary. Through the Keeper, the Silver Flame speaks.
3. Fight evil in all its forms. Not everyone can have the strength or conviction of a paladin, but there are many ways to fight evil that don’t require one to draw a sword. We must also remain vigilant, for the one thing evil does well is hide in plain sight.
4. Lead a noble life, and encourage others to do the same. Temptations abound, but the wisest of us can recognize and avoid them. If you die with a pure spirit, you will be forever bound with the Silver Flame.
5. Share the faith. The Silver Flame can purify the darkest spirit. Share the power of the Flame with those who have not yet embraced it.

The Organization

HQ: Flamekeep
Leader: Jaela Daran, the Keeper of the Flame
Alignment: Lawful Good
Secrecy: None
Symbol: The symbol of the Church is a silver arrowhead engraved with a stylized flame.

Hierarchy
The Church of the Silver Flame is divided into the church militant and the church ministry. The ministry oversees the administrative functions of the church. The members of the ministry are also responsible for providing spiritual guidance to the followers of the church. They are shepherds rather than soldiers, and they battle evil by nurturing good. Each kingdom is overseen by a network of priests and bishops; this chain of command continues up to the Council of Flamekeep and the Keeper of the Flame. The current Keeper is a girl named Jaela Daran, who was appointed just a few years ago.

The church militant is comprised of warriors, paladins, clerics, and exorcists. Where the ministry attempts to kindle a spark of good in the human spirit, the church militant battles the forces of evil wherever they appear. Members of this spiritual army live ascetic lives in monastic fortresses, alternating periods of devotion and training with circular patrols across the territory protected by the Flame. The church militant has its own internal hierarchy, but it is under the rule of the Keeper of the Flame, and the rank and file of the army are expected to defer to the ministry. The church militant is the sword of the Flame; the ministry is the mind that guides it.

Within both the ministry and the church militant, a promising initiate is often sent on an extended and unstructured pilgrimage, charged to discover the true nature of good and evil by walking in the world and to try to make a difference as an individual. These pilgrims are expected to respond to the needs of the church in the communities they pass through.

Motivation and Goals
The Church of the Silver Flame seeks to purify the world. Its most obvious work is its war against supernatural evil; members of the church militant roam the land fighting fiends, undead, and magical beasts. But the church also seeks to fight corruption, greed, and other human evils. The common layman is not expected to fight zombies and ghouls; this is the work of the soldiers of the church. But he is expected to live a noble life and to encourage others to do the same. It is said that those who purify their spirits in this life will join with the Silver Flame after death, strengthening the flame as it binds the forces of evil within the black mountain.

Sadly, the priests and parishioners of the church don't always live up to these noble standards. Within Flamekeep, the warriors and ministers of the Silver Flame are generally dedicated to the ideals of the church — sometimes with an almost frightening zealotry. But the further away one gets from Flamekeep and the watchful eye of the Keeper of the Flame, the more common it is to find corrupt ministers and warriors who abuse their reputation for personal gain. Periodically, the Council of Flamekeep sends agents to seek out and eliminate corruption within the church — but the foul often find shelter in the shadows.

Allies

The Silver Flame has close ties to the Order of the Golden Cross. Most of the Order are devotees of the Silver Flame, but they have chosen to serve the crown instead of taking up the monastical rule of the church militant.

Notable People

Jaela Daran is a nine-year old girl who was called to serve as the spiritual leader of the Church of the Silver Flame. She has a streak of pure silver in her hair, a sign of the touch of the divine. She is disturbingly intelligent and charismatic; while her body is that of a little girl, she speaks with the voice of all of the Keepers of the Flame who have come before her.

While Jaela is one of the most powerful clerics, she is bound to the flame and cannot venture far from it. She is not an adventurer, but she has been empowered to recognize and guide such heroes, and adventurers may be summoned to Flamekeep to receive messages from the Flame.

Listening to the Voice
The Voice of the Silver Flame whispers from the depths of the everburning fire located in the Cathedral of the Silver Flame in Flamekeep. The Voice, said to belong to Tira Miron, usually communicates through the Keeper of the Flame (currently Jaela Daran). Others of the faith sometimes hear the crackling Voice, and many make pilgrimages to Flamekeep in hopes of participating in just such a miracle. However, some scholars outside the faith believe the Voice isn’t Tira Miron, at least not solely.
Some believe that in rare instances the demonic entity that shares the flame with Tira and the rainbow-winged serpent can speak through the silver fire. In these rare instances, these scholars believe, the demon lures people on to acts of terrible evil by whispering to them that they will accomplish good works. Some of the crusades and inquisitions undertaken on behalf of the Silver Flame may fall into this category.
The Church of the Silver Flame, naturally, rejects this theory.

Yes, this is more or less what I had in mind (except perhaps the little girl, but she's not even in Mirth, so that could even be ignored partially)

I tried to remove all references to Khorvaire in the description, to make it fit. The city of Flamekeep, I think, should be in Mirth since that's the center of the religion.

I can change the part about the little girl easily, if you want.
