Oh and serpent? Usually games with bad 3D graphics are much harder to stand than games with bad 2D graphics. But I know what you mean. I get those sometimes too. Just not very easily. But one such game is Starfox. I can't really stand that game.

Also, Bignose the Caveman and Bignose Freaks Out.
Neverwinter Nights has a lousy singleplayer story. The online multiplayer stuff makes up for that though.

Don't listen the whiners. Of course the first one always has that special 'classic' value in them tough the sequals often tend to be better.
I'm somewhat retro gamer myself so i understand why people have so high values for old games. Being angry about it is just silly. It's not like they are raping your precius Dante
Heroes 4 was big dissapointment for me and still don't like the looks of it but Heroes 5 is good proof that game can be "new-gen" and still be as good as it's predessor/s (Heroes 3).
Doom series is a good example. The first two games where great but the sequals weren't that good but nobody mentions it. Everyone does say what they tough about Doom 3 and how much it sucked combared to original Doom. For me it was completely different game, like playing a Resident Evil. D3 was alright game experience but it didn't bring anything new to the game and will not get that classic status what the original had.
Never liked Megaman X series or any of the series expect the old 8bit Megs. They made a new Megaman 9 (old school style) and i for one would like to play it.
Kings Bounty got worthy face-lift as well . I played the old King Bounty last year few times and frankly it needed some plastic surgery. Haven't played the new one much it's quite sluggish at my comp.
So yeah people should play the games they like and stop whining about the remakes they disslike. There are goodies for everyone and not all next generation games are bad, they are just unplayable easy and cartoonishly corny and buggy.. joking

Old games tended to be more gimmicky... story wasn't as important.
Take Donkey Kong country. a decent Platformer.
The story is that a bunch of drugged up rats, wasps, crocodiles, etc. stole a bunch of bananas.
For its time the story didn't really matter but...
NwN on the other hand was an rpg, AND came along later when story was becoming more important

What kind of stupid logic is that? The only reason that is happening is because you lie to yourself and think "hey, this looks different than X" or whatever, like forcing yourself to not like it.
Can you imagine how many people, for example, think they are listening to something stereo if they THINK that it is stereo (for example, it is written that way) and say "it's cool" when, in reality (without their knowledge), it's mono?
expectation is truly an amazing feat...
it's called double-blind testing...

Gameplay does change, and it's changed a lot from how games used to be in the 90's. I'm talking about most games, console and pc based. You can't tell me that the gameplay has not changed when it clearly has. Games these days mostly focus on graphics and not as much on gameplay.

I'm talking about the same game.
Whether you play Contra now or 20 years before, its gameplay (Contra's) doesn't change.

Exactly my point.
In that example, the guy would NEVER like to return to his place, since he knows how life is in town, etc.
Therefore, he won't enjoy the old life anymore

It still changes, wtf. You think they would honestly keep the same gameplay if the original game was released 20 years ago? I seriously doubt that.

The fact that is wrong in most games nowadays is that they are made for people who lack all skill in gaming. Let's take my sister (9 years old), for example, if I give her an SNES controller and super mario bros she won't make it after the first map...
...maybe after a few continues she'll make it to the first castle if she get's lucky but I doubt that.
That's pathetic. I got an SNES when I was 6 and I could al ready beat super mario bros at that time. Not to mention I played games such as supaplex when I was 5...
It also tells everything from todays games. If they are done for those retarded people that is youth today no wonder they are too easy.

Come on...
The RPGs on said platform actually had a proper story. The one in NWN is just a lousy excuse to make the game playable without other people so it can be advertised to a wider audience. Quite comparable, in fact, to the single player mode in Quake 3.
Also, I am not trying to say that modern games suck or anything. I was just trying to point out that the comparison did not necessarily prove what you wanted it to.

Just before this argument erupts, he is correct, as he's talking about the original game from 20 years ago itself, not sequels or remakes or anything.
Quote: And I take it the NES games have a lot better story?

Actually, the storylines of the Heroes series itself sort of prove that storylines are unaffected by the age in which a game is released. Sure you have NWN, but look at Heroes V And in favour of old games, there's Baldur's Gate, Final Fantasy, Blood Omen, MGS 1, Wizardry... *drones on*
Of course I am talking about 90s era games, not arcade stuff
