And now I am a graduate of Pomona College with a BA in economics (and a minor in computer science). Now, to get a job...

Are you now aiming for a masters in Harvard after a few years of work experience?

I can't make up my mind if I want to study law or political science. Law is the safe bet, political science leads to the most interesting (but hard-to-get) jobs. It also requires me to study another math course which I'd hate...

Thanks, Corribus.

I'm looking for programming jobs right now. I majored in economics, but it’s not what I want to do in life - college taught me it's not what I expected it to be. (Too much statistics. Also, getting data is impossible.) I don't think I'll go to grad school. Programming jobs pay enough, the only issue is finding one.

As for the quality of instruction, Pomona is a small liberal arts college (graduating class: 373 people) and relatively many professors. It's also highly ranked. So the overall quality of the institution matters, but the student-to-teacher ratio as well. Of course, I've had bad professors, but they are in the minority.

seeing the state of the economy and that experts only come up with solutions that make things worse, I really wonder what you learn at school... do they only hire the worst ones of you or what?
