Neat trick in H3 (takes some time though, hehe)

Try this: Beat 4000 Dendroid soldiers (in multiple stacks) with one master gremlin (plus ammo cart)

It can be done!!!  The only thing you need is a hero with sufficient spellpoints to cast several berserks on the trees.  When they're all standing still, the fun can begin.  By the way, better use some titans to do the job, goes a hell of a lot faster

Beware, Dendroids are evil!

Morale and counterstrike on vampirelords is wellknown but still very good.

Man this is Heroes I-III forum so vampire lords are unaffected by morale.
Exp Prayer is best way to start the fight then bless or cure. A good way to start with Exp Armorer heroes is exp shield, than exp prayer, bless.
If my opponent doesn't have water i like giving exp curse...etc

Bless allows the creature to inflict maximum damage on anything, whereas curse makes the creature receive maximum damage from anything.
So mass bless is good enough, or mass curse. Don't waste a round trying to pull both off.
Well there's a point in mass bloodlust and mass curse however, or mass bloodlust and mass bless. Don't put bless and curse together in mass spell casting.

Curse only makes creatures give minimum damage plus a small reduction in their damage NOT making them vulnerable to attacks like receiving maximum damage from attacker. So if no exp water on your opponent put them together (also Exp Bless remove the negative effects of Exp Curse)

Have to agree with Icon on this one. What's the point of spell combos when a single spell is all you need? Berserk at expert fire magic, whoah, that rocks! You have to play extremely clumsy to lose when using that (unless the other player has anti-magic or berserk exp. fire magic himself!)

Combo's can crush your army even if you have berserk. All the other player needs is a Exp. Prayer, Cure or Dispel.
Play against humans cause comp on impossible are pretty stupid and easy to beat.

Well, the best combo depends on the strength of the enemy, the strength of your army and the place where you fight.

Usually, if I succeed, I cast something like "Clone" or "Chain Lightning" if I play against AI. Though, it doesn't work as a player's mind.

Today, I've played a map called the "Tale of Two Lands: Wog Version" that I got from the internet. I wrote the sequence of the fight down:

My Army:

Warlock Level 14: Sephinroth (random)

364 Inf. Troglodytes
144 H. Hags
56 E. Eyes
40 M. Queens
22 M. Kings
12 Scorpicores
and...
4 BDs (I turned off the level 8 characters)

Opponent:

Warlock Level 18: Deemer (random)

646 Inf. Troglodytes
--none--
6 BDs
4 RDs
10 Scorpicores
50. M Kings
120 H. Hags

Fight:

Fortunately, the opp. had no spell points so no spells available. The combat was similar to what I write here:

First List (mine) - Second list (opp.)

Trogs <- BDs / 3 BDs left  340 Trog.s Left
*spell* Mass Counterstrike
BDs -> RDs / no RDs
Scorp. -> Scorp. / 6 Scorps Left, Paralyzed
H.Hags <- H.Hags / 120 mine, 99 his...

battle continues... third round:

Creatures Left:

3 BDs
222 Trogs
44 M.Kings
etc.

Opp.

100 Trogs
50 M. Kings

*spell* implosion

no M.Kings

100 Trogs left

***no retreat ***

BDs <-- Trogs / none trogs

--------

that's almost how it was when I played. Some cute dungeon spells, nice Expert Cpu's army's death and happy win of the scenario (it was the quest -- defeat the hero...)

-------

so as I said I usually use damage spells or at least, Earth.

Against players, I mostly use Sacrifice, because titans are be better than none upgraded gremlins.

Chain Lightning and Counterstrike also suits the place, but mostly (when I'm tired) Armageddon finishes everything

-------

And the best combo goes to:

1. Exp. Stoneskin, Exp. Chain Lightning. Exp. Counterstrike
2. Exp. Implosion, Exp. Sacrifice, Exp. Inferno
3. Exp. Armageddon and no need of other spells

In several threads it was reported, that slow and haste cancel each others effect before taking effect themselves. That made me curious and I was looking for other potential spell couples. Yesterday I did some testing on expert air/earth/fire/water for:

haste - slow
bless - curse
bloodlust - weakness (with precision included)
mirth - sorrow
fortune - misfortune

as well as looking at disrupting ray and countermeasures.

Maybe it is old stuff to most of you, but here are the results.

Haste is casted on troops, than slow. Slow cancels haste, than the spell itself takes effect. Haste acts in the same way, if slow is casted first.

Bless is casted on troops, than curse. Curse cancels bless, than the spell itself takes effect. Bless acts in the same way, if curse is casted first.

After bloodlust and weakness are casted onto the same target, both spells are still in effect. The same is true for fortune-misfortune and mirth-sorrow. The resulting effect is zero. It does not matter which of the spells is casted first.

If you cast bloodlust on a ranged unit (e.g. a stack of marksmen) its attack value increases, but its ranged damage does not change. In melee however, bloodlust takes effect for the ranged unit.

If you cast precision on a ranged unit (e.g. a stack of marksmen) its attack value does not increase, but its ranged damage does. In melee however, precision does not help the ranged unit.

After disrupting ray is casted on a target (b.t.w. you certainly know that it can be casted more than once on the same target), neither cure nor dispel can remove the decreased defense value. Stoneskin does not negate the effects of disrupting ray either, but it adds points to the current defense value.

Conclusion: Up to my current knowledge, there are only two spell couples, namely haste-slow and bless-curse.

On a last note: while writing this message I noticed that I failed to check the effects, when haste-slow or bless-curse are casted on different skill levels like hast with basic air magic and slow with advanced earth magic. Furthermore I forgot to test anti-magic on expert after disrupting ray is casted. I will try to make these tests up for soon.

Edit On a post last note: I also forgot to test if weakness affects only melee (units), or if it cancels the benefit of precision as well.
