Isnt that a bit... to many races?

Blizzard usally wants there games as balanced as possible, all those factions sounds a bit much

I would like it set 10-15 years after WoWs last expansion (aka the downfall of Sargeras).

The Legion still exists, but is weakened.

The races would be:

The Horde - the Hordes members are Tauren, Orcs and Trolls. Taurens are the usual tanks and spellcasters, trolls shooters and also spellcasters and the Orcs are the traditional melee damagers.

The Alliance - the Alliance members are Human, Gnome, Draenei and Dwarf. The humans are the main infantry, the Gnomes and Dwarves have lots of siege vehicles (including the Dark Iron Sabotuer).
The Draenei replaces the High Elves as spellcasters.

The Forsaken - the Forsaken consist various of flesh constructs and undead "speices". The flesh contructs are the main tanks and siegebreakers, while the normal Forsaken undead are adept at both spellcasting and normal combat.
The Banshee also cast spells. Death Knights is no longer a hero class, but a strong unit.

The Union - the Union is as the name implies, the Night Elves union with Nature at the times of war. Several races are part of the Union including the normal Night Elven infantry and druids to the Dryads etc.

There is one expansion town however...

The Legion - much weakened, the Legion fights for their place in the universe. The Legion has various of speices in its ranks including the fericious Shivarra, the small Imps and the heavy Doomguards.

In contrast to everyone, i would like WC 4 setting to take place in eons ago before WC 1, in the time of the titans.

Lore wise, Imo, WC universe lore is not as complete as tolkien universe or D&D, and that's why i hate WC universe (not the game), my point is, it miss its event of the past, this is also the same reason i hate Might and Magic universe (including H1 - H4 too), it never told more about ancients and kreegan, as for WC, it never told more about titans and other godlike beings except old gods (at least titans were believed to be gods there), unless ofc there are no other beings equal to titans (but blizz never confirm it), still even if this is true, i would like to play and know the titans and many things in the very past, many genesis always include two primal antithetical beings or things like that (sometimes even there is a being that create those two primal beings, Io/Asgorath of DnD for example), and i would like to know those in WC universe and eventualy play them and their early creations. Sometimes i got the feel that WC universe did copy tolkien in its genesis, in their role, good titans = valar and valier, sargeras = morgoth/melkor, except that WC universe never mention things beyond the titans, if titans equal to valar, there must be The One that create them and the antithesis of The One that influence Sargeras to become evil, not nathrezim, something beyond them, the true evil itself, HoMM 5 universe did mention asha and urgash as those two primal beings (even if it never mention who create them).

Why do you people always turn a topic that has "Blizzard" in it into a WoW/anti-WoW topic?

It's like running out of wanking material.

Indeed, we dont know much about the Titans and their orgins yet but im sure we will see the Pantheon and their leaders in some expansion...

I only know about the Titans on Azeroth (its very advanced with lots of "matrix failed" stuff).

The only thing we really know is that the Titans are very much like the Xel'naga in Starcraft.
They are a very powerful race, and their leaders are almost equal to gods.
They basically travel through the universe and help worlds to develop etc, "shaping" them.

They also constantly battle with the Old Gods and the Burning Legion. Sargeras himself was either corrupted by the whispers of the Old Gods or because he couldnt understand how evil the Nathrezim could be, and thus didnt belive in the Titans shaping campaign anymore.

We do know much more about the Titans on Azeroth though.
The Titans came two times, and will come back a third time in the future.

Before they came the first time, Azeroth was a desolate (spelling?) planet with only chaotic Elements and perhaps some speices like Trolls etc.

The the Titans came. They "shaped" Azeroth and helped life develop there. They created Aesir and Vanir giants to watch over the world and breeded Dragon Aspects to guard it.
They created life from stone, including Earthen and Vrykul etc.
Then they left to shape another world.

Then five Old Gods came to Azeroth. The Old Gods enslaved the Elementals and developed/mutated there own speices such as the Qiraji and Faceless Ones (who look like mammoths in WoW).
The Old Gods spread the curse of flesh among the Titans creations and the Titans creation turned into a stasis, where they developed flesh instead of stone and metal.

Then the Titans returned, imprisoned the Old Gods and the Elementals and restored some order.
Then they left. A titan who remained called Loken, got corrupted by the Old God Yogg-Saron and a civil war broke up between the Aesir and Vanir giants (which contiunes to this day).

Also the flesh Vrykul evolved to humans over time.

It's still not complete, i say that's too few info, my point is, blizz should explain more about titans and their other creations that is not related to all azeroth story and other worlds related to azeroth too so don't mention them (in other words, create new story beyond the event of WC 1 - WoW). Then connect it with WC 1 - WoW story.

Like what i said above, DnD gods in all their multiverse has their progenitors, and all their progenitors has one progenitor. In tolkien worlds, valar and valier which are equals to titans and old gods (since blizz only told that old gods = titan antithesis), have their progenitor, The One, and The One itself has his/her antithesis, though it never mentioned their creator. HoMM 5 universe has demons and dragon gods which are equals to titans, they have their progenitor, though it also never mentioned who was their creator (creator of asha and urgash).

My point is, there are many rooms to make WC universe become epic, and honestly i want it to be epic.

Personally, I would love to see a WC game based on the War of the Ancients events and trilogy.
It was 10,000 years ago and a global world which resulted in the whole continent shattering, leaving a wast ocean in the middle of the world.

Chapter 1 - Mythos

Chapter 2 - The New World

Chapter 3 - The Doom of Draenor

Chapter 4 - The Alliance and the (gay) Horde

Here is the offical lore and incomplete encyclopedia (not crapwiki):  http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/story/index.html

War of the Shifting Sands also sounds interesting.

What about a Wc4 called...

Warcraft: Orgins
focusing on wars and events which started many thousands of years ago.

(also that Road to Damnation story is pretty awesome, escpessaly Anub'araks lines)

Ofc that's also good.

But imo it still better to take place in the event of the titans.

I'm sure it would explain many things. I'm sure there are another story beyond azeroth story (WC 1 - WoW), WoW itself mention there are many types of dragon flights, then there are many aspects to guard (Azeroth guard five aspects, i know it's the dragons that guard it, but those 5 were placed in azeroth because i think azeroth were meant to guard 5 aspect, time, life, earth, magic, nature, many other worlds guards other aspects), from this fact i'm sure there exist another story about worlds not related to WC 1 - WoW. In WotLK, there are proto-dragons in Northrend.
Here, I uploaded a screenshot on two Bronze protos:

Although there were many different kind of dragons in the begining, only five were blessed and evolved from proto-dragons.

And yes, thats the spire of Dalarans Violet Citadel in the background (its faded out because its far away).

I'm pretty sure there's a lot of info about the Kreegans, at least in M&M.
For example, we know that they are SPESS AHLIENZ!
A War of the Ancients one would be cool but IMO since the plot is predetermined, and we all know the outcome, the campaign wouldn't be as thrilling.
The pop caps would also have to be readjusted, Starcraft style, to lend themselves to more epic battles than we had in WCIII.

I am firmly convinced that the Naga should be their own race; they almost were in WCIII, and I was very disappointed that they weren't fleshed out more and put into multiplayer.

Problem is... unless you want to ignore WoW totally (which is pretty certain that Blizzard wont do), then there aint much to do.
Empress Azshara will certainly be the end boss in the sea expansion and the Naga hasnt really done anything interesting.

Naga history:

1. Highbourne drowns. Azshara makea pact with the Old Gods. They mutate to Naga.
2. The Naga hibernates/builds a nation.
3. The naga awaken. Warcraft 4.
4. Most of the race gets killed in WoW.

But the 10,000 year gap between Wc3 and WotA could perhaps then be filled with some kind of campaign on how the Naga dominated the oceans.

Alternaly, Warcraft 4 could be hundreds of years in the future when most "villian races" have recovered and the Gnomes have spaceships lol.

That's why I feel WoW wrecks the storyline, the need to provide epic bosses and such but at the same time no concrete definition of who kills them just mucks with everything.

Given as how it should be nigh-impossible for any other race to mount a full-scale invasion of the Naga domains, though, I could easily see them recovering from any attack. Plus, they're so damn cool.
