I'm not referring to Orcs being green, but rather that the Orc Grunt has the exact same color, body and teeth shape as a Orc Boy from WHFB. It's literally exactly the same. Things like the Dwarven Gyrocopter (which they renamed IIRC) are also examples of near-direct lifts.

Warcraft's definitively its own universe, though.

This would be my ideal Warcraft IV:
Pop Cap: Starcraft-style. Workers take 1 (cut down on worker numbers please!) as do basic foot units. Stronger foot units, flying units, take more. Heroes take 5-8. Total pop cap, maybe 200?

In-game factions:
Human Alliance
Night Elves
Forsaken?
Orcish Horde
Naga
And Burning Legion as campaign-only maybe

Yeah, the Forsaken makes much more sense since the Scourge is basically shattered by the end of WotLK.

All the mindless undead (ghouls, skeletons etc) will likely die or be crazy and just run around, and the Liches etc will probably capture there own groups of small undead or join the Forsaken (if they are allowed).

I'm still againts the idea of WC 4 = continued story of WC 3 and WoW.

Why? WoW will cover it. Most online games have more rooms for story than non online games. If WC 4 is to continue WoW and WC 3 story, i'm sure it will be 500 or 1000 years more than the events of WC 3, or at least in a time where WoW story won't reach it.

For non online games, its story will be updated if the developer release expansions or add ons, but every new quest in online games already update its story (though some update it indirectly). Making/Releasing add ons and expansions is much more difficult than releasing a new quest.

Burning Legion is too cool to be cramped into some sort of wuss skirmish/multiplayer race that can be actually beaten in 1v1

I mean, one side has big flaming golems, even bigger doom guards carrying mofo swords, bigger-then-bigger quadruped demons with ultra-mofo double edged spears and omg-its-so-fkin-big eredar warlocks, and they lose to, ughh, footmen? knights? Dwarven riflemen?

Much info on the Ancients was revealed in some spinoff games and MM2 and 3, as for the Kreegans they are also in Heroes Chronicles and alluded to in MM3 as well.

There are three groups of Blood Elves.

Those serving A'dal and the Naaru. The Scryers.

Those serving Kael and the Legion. The Sunfury/Sunblade etc.

Sorry for swearing but, snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had spent the whole evening creating the Troll race history, their tech-tree, pros and cons, unit descriptions, hero descriptions - everything!
Then I accindently deleted it!!!!!!!!!!!1

My anger knows no bounds right now!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the units atleast:

Drudge
Marauder, Trapper, Berserker
Witch Doctor, Hexer, Dire Troll
Wind Serpent, Bat Rider
Avatar

Shadow Hunter, Primal, Warlord

Great Hall -> Stronghold -> Fortress
Watch Tower, Rescourse Camp, Spirit Lodge, Trading Hut, Lounge, Pyramid, Burrow, Altar of the Loa.

It was so good that I even considered replacing the Horde in Wc3 with them. Then deleted in a couple of seconds, after I had wasted the whole evening on it -.-

Well, Blizzard has started to work on an unannounched RTS game which could very likely be Warcraft 4. Remember that this game would probably take up to ten years to complete, which would allow WoW to finish with its expansions.
This is one of the job recruitments Blizzard has right now:

Software Engineer, AI/Gameplay - Unannounced Title

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an experienced gameplay engineer to focus on strategic AI for an upcoming unannounced title. This is your chance to get in on the ground floor of a dynamic and focused team working on a brand-new project. Blizzard Entertainment offers a fun, creative, and technically challenging environment with excellent compensation and a full range of benefits.

Requirements:

Fluency in C/C++
Strong data structures, logic, and algorithm skills
Good observational skills and the ability to translate them into game ideas
Experience creating strategic AI that handles long-term goals, resource management, etc.
Self motivation and willingness to pitch in on many areas of small game development
Passion for playing games
Pluses:

5+ years of game coding experience including at least one shipped title
Computer science/mathematics/physics or related degree
General gameplay experience on a shipping game
Experience working on networked games
´

Does this prove Warcraft 4 is in development?

That pretty much applies to Scourge too. Or the Zerg in Starcraft.

Quote:

Undead

No, no and NO!
Possible factions:
*Alliance
*Scourge
*Forsaken
*Naga
*Nigth Elf
*Blood Elf, most likely merged into 1 faction under Illiaden together with Draneis.
*Dranei, most likely merged into 1 faction under Illiaden together with some belfs.
*Horde
*Troll faction based around the worthship of the old gods
*Burning Legion, or its splitted down to 2 factions

And i would say this is quite serious for the matter.

What?

Illidan is dead. Hes forces do not exist anymore. All remaining Blood Elves follow either the Sha'tar and the Naaru or under regent-lord Lor'themar Theron on Azeroth.

The Scourge is basically completly breaked down by the end of Wrath of the Lich King. The Forsaken will replace them as the new villians.

Same with the Naga, their Empire will likely go under after that expansion. Blood Elves are likely to either rejoin the Alliance of Lordaeron 2.0 or the Forsaken. The Forsaken and Blood Elves already have good relations in WoW.

The Draenei stuff has been retconned. There were no Dranei following Illidan. Those are now called the Lost Ones.
Those who followed Illidan were a group of Broken (mutated Draenei) who were called the Ashtounge Deathsworn.

The Zandalar Empire are godo guys.

Likely they will go the same route as Starcraft 2 and keep the orginal 4 races (just replace Scourge with Forsaken).

Alliance (including Draenei and perhaps High Elves)
Horde
Union (Night Elves and the forces of nature)
Forsaken (and Blood Elves)

What we can be sure at that Blizzard is developing an RTS which is very likely Warcraft 4.
Blizzard games takes long so WoW will be able to "complete". Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 has been in development since 2003.

Not really, they got Lich King Arthas. He itself is more than capabel of turning the tide.
And i can't se who is capabel of killing him, since it does now require more than a well placed blow.
As a faction, they are just more than impossible to take down. A thing noticeable in WoW, is the amount of gods the players are suppose to have killed already. Its ridiculess going by the scale of the lore in level, and how hard its to kill stuff.

PS: Wonder how long its til the players is going to kill the arch druid, its a ticking time bomb from what i have heard.

WoW IS official lore
And Maiev executes Illidan in a "cut-scene" in WoW. Then she runs away to look for Naisha in the Tomb of Sargeras or something.

Arthas will die by the end of Wrath of the Lich King, Blizzard has stated that. Keep in mind that Ner'zhul no longer exists within the Lich King. Ner'zhul is elsewhere, and there could very well be a new Lich King after Arthas.

Arthas is rumored to be killed by the legendary sword known as the Ashbringer, forged by the heart of a Naaru (the naaru are living beings of light). Arthas has been weakened twice in WotLK. He was affected by the Forsakens own plague during the Wrathgate event and was damage when hes heart was destroyed.
There is no humanity left in Arthas.

Actually, in WoW you dont kill many gods without aid or in their full shape.

Ragnaros: Elemental "god". Recently summoned and weakened.
Hakkar: Same as above.
Kil'jaedan: You get help of the Blue Dragonflight and the Sunwell itself turns against him. Kil'jaedan doesnt die.
Illidan: Maiev executes him and Akama betrays him.
Malygos: The Red Dragonflight assists you.
C'thun: Same as Hakkar and Ragnaros and you dont really kill him. His spirits live on and will cause devasting effects to Azeroth.
Yogg-Saron: Same as above.

I do not think we will kill Mal'furion, but its possible that he is a so-called "Unwakening One" who is stuck and corrupted within the Emerald Dream.
Rather I think he will be the faction leader there. Fandral Staghelm however... he is very likely to become a boss.

Naisha is dead, maybe she is going to make her a funeral.

Last time i checked, the plague was more than cureable. Just check the people working under him. Add on the power of the Lich king, i guess its more than cureable even when using arcane to heal.
