The Tharandrian Epic

This RPG takes place in my own world called Tharandrias. If you want the back story of Tharandrias email me at Bernardabear@Gmail.com.

You can play as a human, dwarf, high elf, dark elf, demon elf, demon, orc (archlord type orcs), goblin (smaller orcs), troll (a smaller Lotr troll), ogre (WOW type with one head and two eyes), giant (Homm3 type), naga (Homm3 type), lizardman (Warlords Battlecry 3 Ssrathi), draconan(dragon man), darkling(think of Lotr uruk hai), imp (Homm3 imp), minotaur (Homm3 type), faun (half man half goat), satyr (like faun but with ram's horns and more hairy), centaur (like in Narnia), faerie (think of Homm5 sprites), and Aedlan (i know you've never heard of them, just calm down, they are like humans with bird aspects). I know, its a lot of races.

Each race can only start in these areas:
Humans: anything that ends in "eon", Hradra, Azrahn, or Vellena
Dwarf: sorry, only Hrevrell
High elf: Khan-Mar or Archeon
Dark elf: Khan-Var or Faey
Demon elf: only Garlath
Demon: Garlath or Marcalath
Orc: Ra-Vak or Vae-Gren
Goblin: Ra-Vak or Vae-Gren
Troll: Samar or Ra-Vak
Ogre: Samar or Meruk
Giant: Hradra or Faey
Naga: Nagila, Draklos, or Serathist
Lizardman: Serathist, Nagila, or Draklos
Draconan: only Dracofar
Darkling: Halvron or Khan-Var
Imp: Marcalath or Garlath
Minotaur: Meruk only
Faun: Enyi or Enya
Satyr: Enyi or Enya
Centaur: Faey or Khan-Var
Faerie: Faey or Khan-Var
Aedlan: Griphoth only

Subraces:
Undead: only humans can become undead (not mindless zombies-anybody can be those), you can be transformed in a specific place in Ardanair(you don't have to be evil to be undead, in fact most aren't)
Vampire: humans and elves can become vampires, you can be transformed in a specific place in Devos
Lycanthrope (werewolf): humans and orcs can become werewolves, you can be transformed in a specific place in Lykon
Devil "race": everybody can become one of these, you can only be transformed when you sell your soul to the Demon Lord Morranon(you have to be evil)

To join, all you have to do is just post in, stating your character's name, nationality, race and brief background if you want. Then you can just start playing. I am playing as the "NPC's, Big Bad Boss at the end of the game, and I have my own hero just for kicks.

Rules:
-no spamming
-no unfair or inappropriate posts
-all of you have to be present to face the Big Boss Latherikan, unless you have joined him, in which case you shall join him to defeat other players
-players cannot be killed until the end of the game (unless you are undead, in which case you can't die, but you can be banished into the underworld and you have to fight your way back into Tharandrias)
-any posts with objects or things that have been made in the 1600's or above are not looked upon kindly by me
-I am writing a story on this, and you all are helping me create it with your characters and actions, so please do something you think would be best for the story if possible

Enjoy! I hope this becomes a great and successful RPG!!!

I suggest you post at least an overview of the backstory, so people actually know whats going on in the world. Right now, I have no idea what the difference is between a Hradran and a Vellenan human.

Here is the Bad guy Backstory

Part One: The Demon Conquest
Latherikan was the tribal shaman of a large demon clan. His magic and clever mind allowed him to become the leader of the clan. He then joined with smaller tribes and invaded the larger ones until he conquered all of his world. He was so full of pride that he named the world after himself (Lath). After learning all demonic magic that he could, he created a dimensional portal that was fueled by the blood of 1000 innocent children. The gateway led into the Orc home world. The demon army consisted of imps, familiars, efreeti, fiends, devils, overlords, incubi/ succubi, etc. Imps were the main warriors of the demon army. Demons believed that overwhelming numbers will conquer the enemy. They were right, to some extent. Orcs were only in their tribal era and did not form civilizations yet. Therefore, they were easy to conquer. The surviving orcs became the main demon warriors. Though slaves, the orc's thirst for conflict was insatiable, but the demons fed their warmongering with war and gladiatorial battles. Once the orcs were conquered, Latherikan learned as much of their tribal magic as possible. He then created yet another portal to a another land to conquer. This portal led to the lands of the elves. The elves have already established civilizations and had a powerful military. So when the demon hordes attempted to take the elvish lands of Khan by force, they were defeated and had to return to the demon home world while closing the portal as to ensure they won't be followed. Latherikan opened a third portal. This one led to the human world. The humans were uncivilized and had just found the technologies of fire and farming. Latherikan actually pitied them, he did not kill them, for they received the demons as gods. Latherikan took liberal amounts of humans into his army and not only trained them, but educated them.
Latherikan favored the humans more amongst his enslaved populace. In a way, he saw himself in them. He saw their desire for something greater, a hunger that could not be quenched. However, humans had no magic abilities, which proved to be an extreme weakness. So Latherikan took it upon himself to grant them demonic magic. In doing so, he made the humans more powerful than many of Latherikan's elite overlords. The elites were enraged at this and rebelled against Latherikan and his hordes. Latherikan then sent many legions of his human "Hell Knights".They easily defeated the overlords and took the position of Latherikan's most loyal warriors. Latherikan then decided the time was perfect to invade Khan. He reopened the portal and first sent in the overlords and made a deal with their leaders saying that if the overlords defeated the elves by themselves then the overlords may suceed from the demon hordes and own Khan. Blinded by desparation, the overlords agreed and attempted to invade Khan. They were slaughtered by the elves with ease, but Latherikan used the overlords as a distraction so that the humans could station themselves in strategic places unnoticed. Once the overlords were done with, human agents sabotaged and spyed upon the elves. Once the elves were weakened from the inside enough, hordes of orcs, imps, familiars, and devils poured from the portal and attacked the elves. Then the humans destroyed much of the elves from the inside out. Human Hell Knights slaughtered the elves with much brutality and kept spared none. However, many of the elves escaped through a portal that many of their acanists conjured. Though the Hell Knights were loyal to Latherikan, many of the other humans knew that what they were doing was wrong, but had nowhere to escape to, and if they tried fighting the demons, they knew they would be crushed. However, when the portal opened, they escaped through after the elves into a wild world without a name, though it would soon be named Tharandrias.

And now some other stuff...

The elves had traveled through the portal into Tharandrias. However, most of the human rebels followed the elves. The humans split into four groups.

The first group settled along with the High elves and formed an alliance between them and the dwarfs of Hrevrell. The humans of this alliance formed one of the largest nations in Tharandrias, but it broke apart due to squabbling and corruption. However, though the humans may be split apart, they are all still part of the alliance. The humans of the alliance discarded most of the demonic culture that they have received, and adapted a combination of dwarven and elven culture.

The second group was once part of the alliance, but seceded and traveled deep  south under the equator. They  found the Theocratic Monarchy of Vellena. They started worshiping a new god and left the Alliance because of their fanatic beliefs. They had no allies and were despised by most people in Tharandrias. The first Vellenans may have actually believed in their god, but as time passed the people became corrupt and discarded the old principles that differentiated them from Latherikan's humans.

The third group was composed of mostly rebellious Hell Knights and militaristic humans that were in Latherikan's service. They went along with the more secluded and aggressive Wood elves. Both groups formed together with the mystical and mysterious Faey. The humans founded Hradra, using a combination of demon and faerie culture. The Hradrans (along with their allies) then set off to conquer the land of Tharandrias. Their conquest was a huge success, and the empire stretched down from North Hradra to the borders of Meruk. It also extended from Khan-Var to present-day Ardanair, though they did not try to conquer the Alliance or the Arughal Nations (I'll send you a map if you don't have one). As time passed on, the empire fell into ruin until only Hradra, Faey, and Khan-Sar remained as definite nations. They then tried to discard the empire ways and became a republic, but left the imperial family with no power, which started a brief feud, but created two parties. The Republican and Royal parties. They both quarrelled amongst each other until they came to an agreement. The senate would govern the people, but the imperial family would command the military.

The final group of humans tried to distance themselves from all of the rest and formed a group of nomadic tribes that tried to live as they did before they ever met the demons. Eventually they all crossed the great Eastern seas and settled in the large, mostly unknown continent that they proceeded to call Ramaha after the name of their great leader. They eventually formed a nation, which grew into an empire that spanned the entire continent. Nobody dared to attack the Azrahn empire (that is the name of the empire), for they are master warriors and hunters. Azrahn is also a haven for those that wish to improve technologies of Tharandrias. Azrahn is one of the few nations with universities and schools that teach both warfare and science. They have developed guns, advanced medicine, and automatons. They are currently the greatest human power in Tharandrias, but do not have the influence of the Alliance, the military of Hradra, or the zeal of the Vellenans.

The four groups are major ones, but there are an assortment of other humans that live in other countries and in their own small nation or province.

Bibiano

Name: Bibiano
Nickname: Red Tongue
Race: Imp
Nationality: Marcalath
Age: 13 (young male, Imp lifespan is 30 years according to Berny-Mac)

Physical Description: Shorter than average, stout, excessively long tongue (not ripped off of Homm5), bald head, long arms, and short legs.
Deep emerald green eyes, pretty strong for an imp, huge hands, smaller than usual wings, and is adept in illusion magic.

Back story: Was born as an unhealthy youngblood, but was miraculously saved by his mother's healing magic. He was born into a very low class family, but his mother had her healing power than no one else knows of. Was raised by his mother and had a deadbeat father who didn't take care of him. In his childhood, he was very adventurous, and whenever he was in danger, his mother would heal him, therefore creating a very risky habit. He gained his illusion magic through his father by means of genetics. He has only started using it, but uses it to great effect in his wild expeditions with his more cautious friends.

well, seeing as i really havent done much with the dwarves, you can  make up culture and background as long as it conforms to the main plot

as for undead dwarves, they aren't accepted in their former nation so they can only reside in the Ardanian Confederacy of the Undead.

WELCOME... TO ADVENTURE HALL!

A burly man approaches you. He looks very stout with a slightly unshaven face. He is very strong judging by the size of the armor he had just taken of a moment earlier.

"Another adventurer eh?" was the first thing he said.
You nod nervously looking around the place. The place the locals call "Adventure Hall". It was large and white with two levels. There was a court yard next to the building. A handful of men were fighting with wood swords and shields.

"Well lets get you on yer way then!" he seemed very exited.
Walking to the door of the building he grabs another man in a one armed hug.
"This here is Claus, if you want to learn how to land an arrow between someones eyes you talk to him! Best damn archer this side of Cheon!" said the man giving Claus a nuggy.

Claus broke into a mix of laughter and pained cries.

"HAHHA ouch hahaha ouch ahha. That's right. And if you want to learn how to give your enemy a nuggy Greg here is guy to talk to but watch yourself he'll get you in your sleep!" said Claus who went back to training.

He hit the bulls eye a couple of times and left.

"Lets get moving theres lots more to see!"

Greg opened the door and went inside. It was wooden and had white walls. There was a small red carpet leading through a long hall.

"If your wondering how we got all of this we get huge chests of gold from the adventurers who came through here as a thank you for teaching them the 'basics'." said Greg waving his hand to point out how neat and clean the place was.

"This aint your ordinary guild neither! This place aint requiring you to do anything to get in or tax or any of that dog nonsense!"

Nina's Never Winter Wares

Nina's place is run by a Fairy! It's been dubbed by the villagers Nina's Never Winter Wares because Nina is never present at her shop during the winter time. She leaves Shaliya in charge. She wares a deep blue gown and is almost identical to a normal human except that she levitates an inch of the ground. You can find great fruits and vegetables and some apparel objects but its generally fruit.

The local church

No coment

Old Pete's farm

Where the adventurers go to earn a little extra money for their personal fancies.

The Nomads Venture

Here there are fabulous displays of weapons, armor, and other trinkets. The smart traders know that this is where to go sell the most fabulous of things. Adventurers who have earned personal wages may go here and spend it on things that will embroil their blood into going out in the world and find amazing treasure for themselves.
But be quick, here no display lasts long before moving on to the next town.

The Headless Ghost

When an adventurer isnt training or exploring he blows away time in this tavern. If they are lucky someone might just come along and recruit them for their cause. Its needless to say that the tavern is popular and a few recruiters come now and then. It is named after a ghost that came once and pulled of its head to show that being beheaded had its uses.

Autumn fest

This is when the last leaves fall and the villagers give Nina a goodbye until winters end. Dance and song give way to drinks and a group hike through the woods to find the treasure Adventure Hall has hidden for the event. Even though there is always treasure to be found in the woods thanks Adventure Halls idea of putting small treasures for their pupils to find and exercise their scouting abilities.

I refuse to let this thread die because of inactivity

So weird thing occurred to me. I was doing homework and i had to make a myth to explain a thing that happens in RL. I thought of using the dwarves of Thandaria

This is what i came up with

Long ago... when Rorick ruled the land, the seas roared like lions smelling a feast after seven months of being starved! His chaos was so fluent there was no such thing as calm. It went on for centuries until a mortal stepped up to challenge his madness. The challenger in a supreme act of defiance sat down and did nothing. Rorick took notice of this from the first second and thundered down.

“Who dares stand still? The chaos must go on!” said Rorick in his booming voice which was enough to split the mountain!

“This is pointless! There is no point to anything! Why does every moment have to be here or there?
Why can't we stand and enjoy this thing called life?!” said the brave one.

“What is this? You defy me? You will pay dearly for this!” said Rorick who took out a hammer big enough to smash a small island in one swipe.

The hammer smashed the mortal where he stood but so chaotic was Roricks land that even he could not control what happened. Instead of the mortal meeting his end his name was simply lost to all the world.

The Nameless mortal left realizing he could not do anything to stop the madness.
He went high up into the mountains where he found a squat woman who approached the Nameless.

“Aye!” said the squat woman “That be me 'usband you just met! 'e is so messy he couldn't find where his own fingers are!”

As The Nameless came to talking more of his problems the squat woman named Talia interrupted him.

“Listen. Me 'usband needs to learn to sit in one bloody place! Take these two icicles and stick 'em in his boots heel learn to stay still whether he likes it or not!” said Talia who sent The Nameless on his way.

The Nameless sat down again and Rorick thundered down again.

“You!” Said Rorick angrily.
Before he could do anything The Nameless stabbed the boot with the icicles and Roricks feet were frozen in place.

“NO!!! The chaos must go on!!!” Rorick howled.

He puffed up his chest and drew his breath and kept drawing breath until he was as big as a small mountain.

He then blew out all the air and the ice broke and Rorick kept flying in every direction. He was blown far away.

Though calm had settled on the world Rorick kept blowing out air reminding the people of Hrevrell that chaos was just a wind away.

i think it is PERFECT for the dwarf wind/sky god and il figure out something out for Talia unless anyone got objections

p.s. i havent bothered to proofread the thing yet so

..........wow.......
that is a perfect myth for Tharandrias!
good job, Lucky_Dwarf!
sorry about my inactivity
I was focusing on other things

but that is great!

okay, now i should probably get started with commonly worshiped gods of Eldrass

Arman-
King of the gods, and is the god of Light. Is bound with
Kalia and rules over the world of Armandrias. He is patron god
of the celestials (angels, genies, efreeti, and seraphim.).

Kalia-
Queen of the gods, and is the goddess of nature. Is bound with
Arman and rules over the world of Kaliadrias. She is the
patron goddess of normal animals(deer, wolves, sheep, etc.)

Khan-
God of Immortality. Is bound with no one, and rules over the
world of Khandrias. He is the patron god of the Elves, Giants,
      Titans, and Dragons.

Aliana-
Goddess of Mortality. Is bound with no one, and rules over the
world of Alianadrias. She is the patron goddess of Orcs,
      Goblins, Trolls, Dwarves, Ogres, etc.

Tharan-
God of Beastmen. Is bound with no one, and rules over the world
of Tharandrias. He is the patron god of all beast and mortal
      cross-races (Satyrs, Lizardmen, Minotaurs, etc.).
Nethero-
God of the Nether. Is bound with no one, and rules over the
Netherworld (which was created by Arman to house the spirits
of the dead). He the patron god of no one except souls of dead
celestials (Nethereals), and dead immortals/mortals (undead).

Sero-
God of the Forsaken. Is bound with no one, and rules over the
three worlds of Serodrias, Erodrias, and Ladrias (now known as
Lath). He is the patron god of the discarded creations of the
creator gods and goddesses (demons, imps, humans, etc.)

Yes, humans were discarded creations of the gods. I just thought it'd be cool to add that little twist to it.
