Month 2, Week 2, Day 5

A silent day... The sun was shining brightly on the grassy lands... The wind blew over the treetops of the old oakforest. On the beach seaguls were having a physical argument about a small piece of food, but were chased away by a large wooden object that was gliding at them with a dangerous velocity. It was a ship that was being pushed into the water.
"Allright, thank you, Sorsha!" shouted Loynis from the ship to Sorsha, who was still on the shore. She merely waved her hand as the Cleric sailed away to horizons unknown, places to discover. She headed back to the Shipyard to see whether her ship was ready to sail as well.
"I'm sorry, milady," said the carpenter inside the yard. "You'll have to wait til tomorrow if you want to sail on this one. It needs maintenance first."

Month 2, Week 2, Day 5

Jaeger was exhausted when his troops finally reached the north of the island; the beastmen were eager to join Tazar, but the warlock was weary of the forced march through the marshes - after all, he was a Troglodyte and spent most of his life in the caves.

By the time his troops equipped their new armor, another army approached the town from the east: it was Gird, leading Tazar's units to be upgraded. Soon enough the battle mage commanded the combined forces, which she led to Tazar - who was still waiting in the ship near the Tatalian coast.

The boarding was done surprisingly quickly this time, and the beastmaster managed to get his reinforcements and cross the straits in one day. In the evening they landed on an unknown island in the north. When it started to snow, Gageteer the commander - being unfamiliar with this land - decided to call it a night and ordered a camp be made on the shore. His master didn't object; instead he kept watching the frozen treetops, wondering what lay beyond them.

Meanwhile, his scouts Bron and Merist were patiently waiting for their allies to clear their way to their respective Keymaster Tents...

Octavia first flagged the Hall of Sins. She then visited the mysterious Witch Hut in the North-West of the Island. Instead of meeting a cackling old hag, she met a beautiful young woman. The woman said:
"I am a master herbologist and healer. Why don't you take some herbs with you?"
Octavia left, and discovered that she had the knowledge of Basic First Aid. A useful skill, but not one that her master Zydar would want to learn. She went south, visited an empty windmill, and caught a glimpse of Axsis. Axsis flagged an ore pit and a gem pond that were still flying the blue banner, and Ignatius returned to his home. Erdamon decided to follow the road and expore south after seeing the numbers of the wolves. Zydar would be able to deal with them later.
Zydar, however, went North to recieve knowledge from the four learning objects in the North: A learning stone, a Star Axis, a School of Magic and a School of War.

Month 2, Week 2, Day 6

Tazar's troops marched north, knees deep in snow. Yesterday the beastmen enjoyed the sunny beaches of the Tatalian seaside and today they were whipped by the cold winds on this unknown island. But they didn't mind - their bloodthirstiness led them ever onwards, and they plowed through another garrison. After this skirmish with five Titans, fifteen Nagas, forty-five Archmagi and countless Golems, Tazar was thinking of only one thing: mastering Pathfinding, so that his mighty army can move even farther each day. The commander of his troops planned his advancement more carefully, practicing his Magic skill in combat or when they stopped to rest. He had no intention of casting Haste against the Behemoths: his goal was to learn how to Paralyze his enemy, or master the No Retaliation strike. But he knew the final battle was still far away... And in front of them, right beyond the Gremlin Pass, lay a Tower, defended by throngs of creatures hiding behind the tall walls.

Meanwhile, Merist got bored waiting near the Green Tent, so she sailed through the Whirlpool nearby (not as risky as it sounds, because she had only one Gnoll bodyguard) and went exploring the southern isles. Malekith was sent to recruit some troops and try to complete the witch's task...

Zydar was pleased!
First, he had increased both his spellpower and knowledge by one. Then, he had decreased the gap between the next level of power by 1000 experience. Finally, he had made a hard decision. Instead of building an upgraded Forsaken Palace, he built a castle gate in both Brimstone and Daemon Gate, allowing him to go through to his Main castle in two turns, recruit creatures, and then finally get rid of that pesky garrison and reach the Green Keymaster tent.
Erdamon decided to clear the shroud from the South-East part of the Island, and Axsis and Octavia prepared for setting off on a boat after the Keymaster's Tent was visited.

Month 2, Week 2, Day 7

While Loynis sailed away into the unknown, Sorsha was sailing away into a different direction. She was just reading the ERATHIA DAILY when one of her men shouted "Land in sight!" She got up and saw the shore, where another ship already had been anchored. Will their adventure end in a fight? They would reach the shore next day.

Orrin was still waiting in his castle, not wanting to miss the reinforcements.
Cuthbert was exploring some more land that once belonged to the powerful kingdom of the bearers of the blue flag, and discovered a garrison similar to the one back in Orrin's duchy. This could be the location of another keymaster's tent, Cuthbert thought. It seemed less heavy guarded as the other garrison, so this one might be an early conquer.

Month 2, Week 2, Day 7

Tazar ordered forced march through the windy Gremlin Pass, but his army fell straight into a trap! Two thousand little critters came out of the frozen trees, wielding their dungeon balls. The beastmaster quickly cleared his way through the woods, but this event taught him a valuable lesson; now with Expert Wisdom, he knew not to rush in.

So the Tatalian forces sieged the castle before them carefully, using the Haste spell and avoiding land mines hidden in the snow around the walls. When the beastmen slaughtered the defenders, Tazar was pleased to see that the town had been fully built. He climbed the Lookout Tower and enjoyed the view, being able to see the entire island. That's when he spotted another Kemaster's Tent far in the east, among the Magic Clouds. It would be his next destination!

But before he left the city, he visited the local Artifact Merchant and spent the kingdom's daily income on the Boots of Speed and a Dragon Wind Tabard. If only there was a Market of Time so that he could unlearn this useless Ballistics... Alas, no such place in these lands!

One day!
Only one day until Zydar could collect his troops and clear the garrison on the next!
Erdamon, who found a dead end, decided to go and sleep in Ashden.
Octavia went to the town under her custody to prepare for her Lord Zydar.
And Axsis, who had six efreeti sultans, decided to deliver them to Zydar. He also decided to prove himself worthy of a real army.
To do so, he killed the iron golems that were defending the School of War. He managed to survive with his six efreeti and his commander, but his 22 familiars died. He delivered nall but one efreet to Zydar, and he increased his defense skill by one. As a gift, Zydar gave him the useless Shield of The Dwarven Lords, crafted many centuries ago. Axsis now had beginner's skill in attack and knowledge (1 each) , but he had Magic of the Fourth Level of power (4 spellpower), and he could block four blows before tireing(4 defence).
Thus did Axsis make himself a more useful underling.

New troops, fresh manpower, an army full of energy, but mixed with the old experienced troops they decreased the stack's professionality. But Orrin had no choice, he needed more troops if he ever wanted to get past those garrisons.
Cuthbert wandered a little around his land, Sorsha landed on the seashore, which took her an entire day, and Loynis sailed away to unknown horizons and treasure islands...

Lost in his reveries, Tazar was standing on the watchtower of his Fortress and looking somewhere above the treetops of the Tatalian jungle, when he heard a chorus of squeaky voices coming from below the castle wall:

"Grandpa! Grandpa!"
"Easy, little ones, the stairs are steep and slippery from the rain", the warrior replied.
"Grandpa", the red-haired girl spoke up when she caught her breath,"You promised you'd tell us the end of the story after dinner!"

Tazar smiled, took the child in his arms and went inside, surrounded by a bunch of noisy toddlers.

A few minutes later, they were all sitting or lying quietly around the fireplace, impatiently waiting for the old man to begin. Tazar took a few puffs from his pipe, leaned back in his armchair and finally continued his tale:

"Where was I...? Ah, yes. That windy morning, having mastered Expert Wisdom, I decided to pay a visit to the local Mage Guild, just when we were about to leave the snowy Tower. Among the dusty scrolls I discovered a parchment with strange runes and a miniature of a man entering a gate and exiting on the other side of the world. Yes, it was the spell called Dimension Door! Now before you all jump on me, let me tell you that in the good old days Dimension Door was a most powerful enchantment... before the Mage Council decided it was too powerful and banned it.

Anyway, it was clear to me that our original plan was obsolete: there was no need to visit all the Keymasters' Tents anymore... So I made a decision to slay the dreadful Behemoths before they could take another life."

"What about your allies, Grandpa?", a boy asked.

"Heh, I guess they are still mad at me because I didn't wait for them... But the truth is, I needed only two days to jump right into the beasts' lair. Besides, there was nothing they could do to help me, so they would needlessly risk their lives... Keep in mind they had already done a great job of keeping our enemies at bay, for neither the bearers of the blue flag nor the demons of the purple duchy got a chance to attack me on my quest...

So... I ordered Malekith to bring the reinforcements from our northermost outpost to Jaeger, who was waiting on a ship docked at the Tatalian coast. Then he sailed southward, to the Island of Death, where we were to meet at dawn. Meanwhile, Krellion took a boat and cleared the fog of war in the west, so that I could use Dimension Door...

I made a slight detour to the Island of Fire, in order to pick the Sentinel's Shield... Then with another wave of the hand, I found myself in the evil mist, from where I was able to teleport my troops to our final destination. Keep in mind the battle was to take place on the Cursed Ground, which means I couldn't use Dimension Door once I entered that mountain pass."

The children had to wait a few moments for their grandfather to take a few more puffs, which seemed like eternity to them.

"I was more lucky than I was smart, mind you", Tazar smiled, "No less than twenty Hydras wanted to join me then and there in that canyon. I don't know if they took the opportunity to end the Behemoths' rule or just afraid for their lives... Frankly, I couldn't care less. I welcomed them to my army and for all I know, they just might have secured my victory.

Then came the earthquake, and the thunder followed. Only it was no earthquake and it was no thunder - it was the swarm of three hundred Ancient Behemoths, rumbling down the hills.

And we fought, in the mud and smoke and blood, till the night fell and there were no more beasts standing. I don't remember much of the combat itself, aside from the fact that I managed to cast Expert Slow before battle frenzy took me.

I couldn't count on Blind or even Force Field, let alone Resurrection... The worst thing is I couldn't count on my Basilisks' Petrifying Attack or Dragon Flies' Weakness either... But I must admit Bless, Poison, Death Blow and above all Fear served me well."

"Fear, Grandpa?"

"Yes, my little one. My commander Gageteer was a most fearsome warrior, able to withstand the attack of twenty Ancient Behemoths and kill one in return."

"What happened to Gageteer, Grandpa?"

The old man sighed. "I don't know, child. I guess he perished with countless others in the Reckoning. He was the finest warrior, that funny Gnoll."

"Was he the greatest Gnoll in Axeoth?"

"It was back on Colony... But you are too young to remember. Gageteer would love Axeoth... He lived for the heat of the battle and would never stand aside, commanding the troops or casting his spells."

"What about your allies, Grandpa? What happened to Orrin and Zydar?"

"Sadly, the only thing I know is they were promoted to Arch Mages by the grateful people of the land, shortly after we defeated the beasts..."

"Who knows what happened to them...? I would love to know myself!"

You found Dimension Door?
That's how you won without me clearing the garrison. I guess we were too slow in building up our heroes and killing the enemy. Oh well, we still won, and I got my name in your hall of Fame.
EDIT:
Vlaad, for some reason, My WoG doesn't have the Hall of Fame Background, Head Chop Video, etc. Can you help me?
