[Editor"MOD"]Heroes V Quest Editor

Hi all ! Have you never thought that in the editor of heroes V that was a bit difficult to add quests in your scenarios ? Now, it is finished ! With the Heroes V Quest Editor, you can easily add quest to your maps and this, in a friendly interface !



The design is finished, I think. Now I'm scripting the program itself to make it able to add quests the map.xdb files.
What do you think of it ? (Yes the interface is a bit condensed, but I wanted to make a little program that can be run on little resolutions).

OMG! That is a masterpiece! This is every map makers dream,. That is absoloutely my favorite mod, no doubt about that!..

Can't whait! Must have! (My only problem is that Vista doesn't allow me to open map editor at all)

You can open it in vista. You must only go to right click->Compatibility->Execute this program under->Windows XP SP2
and also in Security :
Total control by everyone.

Now I've at least finished the parameters -_- Very very annoying job !

It sounds like a few more years of modding and mapmaking Great job dude, I'm waiting for your tools. Hopefully more useful than power calculator.
Also, I'm waiting till the exam session finishes It will be very creative holidays.

Excellent project!

It will allow you to know that it exists some bugs about SeerHut in the game.

Ex: some awards don't simply work like Moral, Luck and Mana or some award icons are missing and others bugs

But this isn't finished, isn't it? Anyway, if you know how to script all kind of quests and how to make a MOD which do it for us, this application would be awesome, no doubt! The best fanmade thing, possibily. Keep that spirit!

I've just finished the scripting of parameters. Now I start awards and so on...
And still there is a problem, my streamWriter does not write \n (jump line) character...

I've already said many times that if I don't continue it at the moment, its because I change of computer, and I lost all my data on my hard disk. I will obtain it one day, before june in all cases...

Aaaa I'm enraging !I try and I try to find an algorithm I could use to set quest for specified players only, but I can't. Only primary & secondary common quests algorithms are operationnal and ready to use.
Not very useful then...

PlayerSpecific is too hard to find, to write in the good emplacement, and so on.... I'm very sorry guys
I think this tool is not very useful then :'(

What do you think ?

In RTMG, quest are for the last player which find them:

<AllowMultipleActivations>false</AllowMultipleActivations>
<AllowMultipleCompletions>false</AllowMultipleCompletions>


So, all players can go see the quest but only the last player seeing it can finish it.

and once it is done, it is done forever.

I'm far from pro in scripting or coding but first thing that came to my mind was data.pak/maps/scenario/[mission_folder] and there, mapscript.lua files. Is there any quests for player-only in campaign? If not, then this wont do much...

These scripts are used in .lua, so should it be different scripting "format", the one that's used in .xdb? Should your editor create MapScript.lua instead of xdb?

Darn... are quests and objectives the same in this case?

We can't add lua script in xdb files. And I cannot do anything in LUA because there is no such function like SetObjectiveOwner.
Damned I need an algorithm :'(

EDIT : in all cases, my soft is finished and tested if we ignore this lack for player quests. Are there some of you who are interrested if I release a BETA version ? I say BETA because we must check that no bugs stay. If we can't find any bugs, then it will be the final version (and this to the moment when someone find an unfounded bug or find a working algorithm for the player quests).

What should I do ?

I don't get it what's the problem with player-specific objectives?

In the map file you have <Objectives> then <Primary> or <Secondary>, and then <Common> and <PlayerSpecific>.

Common has the <Objectives> (with all the objective information inside) and <DieInWeekWithoutTowns>. PlayerSpecific has eight <Item> first (for each player), and each item has the same <Objectives> and <DieInWeekWithoutTowns> properties as the Common ones.

Sorry if I said something which you already knew but I don't get it what's the problem...
