I'm going to France

For a school trip. Originally, we were going to England, but then not enough people signed up, so the tour company put us on a trip to France instead. So, in mid-March, 5 other people and I are going to France. We're visiting Paris (Louvre, Versailles, the Eiffel Tower), then we're taking a TGV to Provence, and going to Nice.

Any advice? I know next to no French.

Is is a school trip. No need to learn French for crying out loud. Except that when you eat somewhere, I like to try to order in the language of the place. Just because it is hilarious, when they don't understand

The only advice is that enjoy Louvre.. amazing place. If you enjoy history or art. I'd take you are one of those that do.

And the (young) people are friendly, and they do speak English. Just get used to their accent And if they don't, you'll experience something extremely fun. Trying to communicate without a common language

My advice is to have a great time. I personally think France is very beautiful, especially the countryside.

L'académie is a big influence in that. the french love their culture (and rightfully so, I might add) a lot and don't move away from ot. Voice actors are very much needed every time an american movie comes out that the public wants to see. And the french still learn english like we do, except that they don't learn it from WoW. (and at the fifth year, this won't abate you in english class anyway, since you'll start with your literature studies, then)[/spite xerox]

is it paid by the school or by you? I'm not sure how it is there, but here we had to pay all of them -- never wasted money on such thing myself.

also my dad used to say french are stubborn and arrogant (stereotypes ofc, like romanian=thief)

France is overrated btw.
