As always -I need a bit help.. now with H3 map editor.

Given: this thread is about Heroes III Complete. Non-WoGed.

So, I just returned to mapmaking.. (After.. five years? IDK...) And I would appreciate some help from the more skilled creators.

1) Is there any chance to REALLY change the gender of the Hero? I mean - I can check the mark male/female, but in the combat my newly made male has still female physique. (Sorry, if this has been asked before, but "Search" function found me pages of stupid libertarian pro-gay/transgender stuff I aint gonna read...)

2) Is it possible to change heroes' specialities, e.g. via overwriting some data? (Again - I talk about H3 Complete, not WoG)

Yeah, I know (or assume) that many of such functions are in WoG, but for many reasons I dont like WoG (chieftains, moving trees, h4 icons, etc.) and moreso, I like the oldschool feeling of basic Heroes3.

I am not going to force you into WoG, but all you ask is possible only with it. And by the way, WoG can be played without any of the features you dislike. You have the options (check/uncheck) to disable commanders, to disable H4 objects and to play with standard SoD trees (no animation) which you can find them HERE

Oh really? I played WoG yeeeeeaaaaaaaaarrs ago, so I remember it not very well... So I give it a try.. shhhhhhhh!

EDIT: After careful consideration, this sucks. Got no time to learn how the bloody WoG works, I am thirty and any snow can happen even before I go to bed. I shall stay at H3 Complete.

Im not good in writing english

I diselected all wog otions but the moving trees stay;

I think to remenber me, when i played wog bevore ca 1-2 Years, there arent any moving trees?!

I hope you can help me get back the normal trees.

If you don't want animated trees, you'll have to reinstall WoG. This time, select all the boxes but do not check the Animated Trees box.

I'm trying to figure out how to make creature spawn inside a castle without having to purchase them.

The objective castle needs to slowly get stronger the longer the players take to win.

I doubt this is possible. Best thing to do is spawn purchasable units by event and give the AI bonus gold to recruit those creatures

You can script it in the map editor. Just add creatures to a Town's garrison every set time (like every week) and only have the script trigger for AI players. When the player owns the Town, the creatures aren't added.

In fact, numerous SoD maps work that way.

I think what he wanted is add creatures to existing army, so there is no need to recruit/purchase. Or this is possible only with erm.

But also is the safest way of creating huge armies, I coded it in several maps. First day create script holding specific army values, then increase those values using a time trigger. When battle occurs, you calculate the final values then create army on the fly (until there the hero has no army or conventional). Is the only way of getting more than 32xxx creatures in one stack without the game crashing or other nasty effects as negative numbers, thus having correct growing armies over time.

The way I read it, he wants to reinforce the garrison of an existing Town, so the longer the player takes to capture it, the more creatures he has to defeat to do so.

If I recall correctly, this should be possible through the standard script editor. Hm, your post has started to make me doubt, though.

If the map is supposed to be played in multiplayer then maybe you can make the goal town AI owned, set bonus creatures and gold, ban tavern and disable the win condition for AI?
