Necropolis worst enemy

I take it that the Necropolis units should not fight against the academy and dungeons because of their low initiative and somewhat bad attack and low mana. Please confirm.

You are mistaken about academy, the battles are very equal and I've had many of them in duels and full games. Their flaws are compensated by the fact that they have stronger armies and extreme defense. However that won't help much vs dungeon that can blast you with spells. In midgame necro vs dungeon is not that bad but later on dungeon gains a good advantage.

Probably the Necro is some of the worst factions in battles because the Al don't know how to use Dark Magics.About the creatures,I don't find them weak.The Vamps are the best tier 4 creature IMO,and the Ghosts are useful creatures because their 50% incorporal,but their stats aren't very excellent,so they aren't the best tier 3 creature.
Banshee seems to be a very good creature,I think much better than the Wraight.
An intresting duel can be one between the Necro and Sylvan,and I think I'll try one tommorow

Necro can beat most factions with ease, long as you can get upper hand on midgame, if you went vs sylvan or haven lategame, you are most likely gone.

I did. I nearly lost to the AI on hard but I had about 5k skelly archers and somehow won.

A normal multiplayer game lasts 4-6 weeks at most and armies never reach such numbers. Necro requires more skill to play effectively than sylvan but if you play someone on the same level around midgame it should be pretty equal.

I think, from what he said in the other thread, that he played with the Skelies dominance Necromancy racial

Still 5k sounds like a hell lot even for that.

4-6 weeks???

I played for about 10 months.. (40 weeks)...
does that mean Im bad or something else?

That depends on how fast you can actually play and how long the map is I don't know any maps that can take over 7 weeks them being large with underground. Of course playing multiplayer and playing single are a totally different thing but if you only have single player experience then you cannot compete online before you get some losses to get the hang of it. For instance leveling rate is usually lvl 8-12 week 1, lvl 15+ week 2 but this is not possible in every map.

From my experiences, I've found Fortress a Real pain to Play against (Runes and Destructive - BLEH!) - Dungeon is really hard too (Luck or Empowered Fireball + Cape?), and even Haven can be really annoying sometimes (especially with Eternal Light, Ressurrection and/or Regeneration. WoL is nothing more that a mild Nuissance)/ Late Game Sylvan is hard to beat as well; either they have Powerfull Light or Strong Destructive, with Almost infinite mana AND high Spellpower.

Stronghold should be possible with Summoning/destructive and Dark. Make sure you have Frenzy.
Academy is, imo, quite Evenly matched to Necro
Haven is, unless with Ressurrection, Regeneration and/or Eternal Light, not much of a Trouble (beware of Divine Guidance tho)

I do not consider Inferno as a thread at all, though you MUST DESTROY their Hounds and Familiars before they can do you any harm. With Frenzy, Mass Slow or even Blade Barrier, this is quite easy imo.

Also: Multiplayer game indeed do not tend to last long - There's usually is NO AI, and quite Frankly, destroying Neutrals is not the most interesting of Occupation H5 has to offer So, yes, battles follow as soon as both Players have assembled a strong enough army/build. (which is mostly around week 6)

Well, I've made some Necro Skill wheels (on my own PC, I'm on my fathers atm), and yes, Boneward is very nice. Protection requires defence, which is   . Necro has better Skills to pick imo.

Lex, Defense is a pretty good skill for Necro. In most cases it is better than Attack (although Enlightenment and Sorcery are still very important - not mentioning the magic skills ofc)

I think Defense is the 3rd most important skill for Necro behind Dark/Summoning and then Enlightenment. I put dark and summoning together because I rarely get both of them. I just throw all my eggs in one basket, because having both enlightenment/sorcery or enlightenment/defense is too juicy to pass up. Having all 4 can be difficult though before the game is over.

Well i usually play Naadir, so i start with Dark and Summoning, so that leaves me with only 3 slots for skills, and therefore i always try to pick Enlightment and defense (this is Essential) and the final slot i usually want use for sorcery or luck.

I'm ambivalent about enlightenment...I suppose it's useful if you get it early to get all the bonus EXP as you're creeping to build your army through necromancery. But sorcery and dark magic are mandatory. Everything else is determined by taste, though if you're fighting Dungeon, protection and boneward are mandatory, so you'll need defense. I like to get attack and luck if I can to boost damage. There's no use in trying to preserve the low HP necro army, and because you don't get morale bonuses, you have to be able to hit fast and hard before you get overwhelmed with your low initiative and neutral morale.

Enlightenment is easily the best skill in the game, for any faction. The bonus it provides at Expert Level is simply better than any other skill (maybe except magic schools for magic users)

Sure the enlightenment perks aren't great for a might faction, but Intelligence is another overpowered perk (compared to Sorcery perks like Arcane Training) for magic factions

But if I'm getting arcane training, I don't have a use for intelligence. If I'm going to take a secondary skill, it's tertiary tree should look appealing too, and enlightenment does not do that. More spellpower? More knowledge? Yawn.
