Ok, so should I start to think about it and write it a bit more nicely? I don't want to waste time on a question that isn't even supposed to be answered (not that I think much now, it's almost 3 AM, but probably tomorrow before I get on here).

WARNING: Big post ahead

Hmm, well it'll take a lot if I were to explain the really "epic" type of movie with factions and all that, because most definitely would require a huge franchise (possibly more than a trilogy) to make sense and not overrush things, so I'll go with something simpler (but still a bit epic). By the way, I have added a lot of tropes with links just to show you the ones I even have in mind (if you have time you can click on them to see more details ).

So we have this Crapsack world, where stuff isn't nice and it's full of nasty things. Let's say, among which are vampires or werewolves, or demons (more likely), or any combination of stuff like this -- point is, something nasty, really nasty. Vampires/Werewolves may have extra points (though unused/undecided) because of their bites (you know the type ), or maybe with undead stuff.

Anyway, point is, the world sucks and is dark (at least the part where the movie takes place). Atmosphere is like in fantasy (you know: good terrain, somewhat medieval but more eastern-oriented here -- Australia or eastern Asia type of terrain). So probably the movie is centered around this dude, which we'll call the protagonist, which has a somewhat grim mood. Obviously he has a very tragic past of sorts and he is obviously Cursed With Awesome. He's basically an Anti Hero although he still has a bit of morals based on honor left (in fact it's the only damn thing that still makes him act the way he does, because he's a freaking stoic, yes kinda extreme given his tragic backstory).

So this dude is darkish, has a tragic past, but he is not evil, and he is a damn badass, or rather a badass bookworm. Let's say, he was a former kind of martial artist and maybe went a little too far with his black magic skillz or 'studies' and now has attracted some attention. Expect some devastation to his village either by lords (humans) corrupted by Demons (guess why he was a target) or directly by demons themselves. What's done he's almost dead, but something happens. Not sure and not revealed, and this dude lives but is deprived of most of his normal body, and much of his soul (though he still keeps his honor -- the ONLY thing that keeps him from becoming a maniac ). I think you guessed by now why he is such a stoic right?

What next? Time for revenge baby. This guy is now full fury and is pissed. Since he lost most of what he had and is kinda mutilated (how he survived --> not revealed; possible reasons: someone saved him, someone scared off the demons, or whatever other stuff), not just physically but spiritually as well, first thing he does is use his damn black and sinister stuff to make 'artificial' stuff in his body. Either that or forcefully repairing what he has (forceful regeneration of sorts). Anyway the point is, on the inside (and even outside --> some scars on his limbs for example) it ain't pretty. (at least, if you consider a normal body on the inside pretty anyway). Notice that on the OUTSIDE he is pretty normal, apart from a few fingers or scars (which he'll replace with black magic stuff or forced flesh regeneration as explained). On the actual inside, the view ain't pretty (and neither his 'soul', which is kinda shattered)

As far as this dude's concerned, ANYTHING that doesn't get in his way of getting his revenge against demons (or vampires, or werewolves, or anything else that really, really pissed or pisses him off) is somebody elses problem. He doesn't care, he's a stoic remember?

Actually this guy wants to get THE demon/vampire/whatever, not just anyone, but he is so pissed he despises them all. And he is after them all; but once he laid his eyes on THE demon (that pissed him off), he is gonna forget about anything and any other demon until he kills it. (or so he thinks anyway) (by the way, he is pissed in a totally non emotional way)

Oh and by the way, he Took a level in Badass in the meantime. Now he's really good at his black magic stuff. And I mean really good (even though he has no satisfaction whatsoever). Remember also that this guy knows his martial arts stuff as well -- not as good as a super-ninja but he ain't particularly weak.

So now, to truly make this 'beginning' interesting, we need some kind of bar brawl . So let's say something like this: the guy goes into an inn to get some food and examine some people (he can 'sense' which are vampires or demons or whatever it is there, freedom is always nice to have). This isn't his first inn he goes into, obviously, but the first one on screen (so it is more justified that something "happens"). After some time, let's say some burglars bust in, some really tough dudes and let's say, demand cash or shinies the people in have. They beat up the guards (yes there are guards, just to show them how tough they are) and the people cowardly give them everything.

There's also this ninja in the corner (who will become the protagonist's sidekick) who watches it all, but doesn't want to get involved.

Then the burglars notice this particular dude who's sitting there as if nothing happened (and in some black robe/clothing of sorts, seems expensive you know?) and get on him (they practically ignore the 'ninja', btw the ninja is not the black-clothed-with-mask type, just normally dressed). This dude is obviously, the protagonist.

At first they threaten him and he tells them to stay back and just leave him alone with his glare (he tries to get out the door but they put themselves in his way). Obviously they don't, and draw their swords to his neck and threaten him one last time. The protagonist says nothing and they are suddenly pushed back due to some air force pressing on them (this guy CAN stop missiles/arrows/bullets in air because he pushes them back with air) and he starts his black magic stuff (some cool CGI effects now, mostly 'dark' and a bit transparent, and not cheesy). He kills them all (yes he KILLS them, he ain't that good of a guy, but not exactly evil...). Naturally in this process, furniture, bottles, etc... all were damaged to make it look even cooler.

So this guy now is sarcastic and drops a line? Forget it. He's a stoic. He walks out as if nothing happened, with everyone amazed (black magic, or any magic for that matter, ain't that common in these parts you know?... ). Naturally, the "ninja" is amazed as well, and decides to stalk him. This obviously, happened during the night.

Fast-forward to morning, we see our protagonist travelling. After some travelling that may display some impressive and awesome terrain, mountains or cliffs or what-have-you, we see him going into some kind of small village. Then beats up some guards and goes into an underground building of sorts, where he stops (somewhere inside) and talks "why did you follow me" (he is aware of the ninja following him). Then he gets a bit pissed (not in the emotional sense obviously, since he's a stoic), says "go back" and then heads towards the ninja, and a bit threatening (maybe Necklifting ). But then he realizes there's no point and not a problem, so he decides to ignore the ninja and goes on with his mission. In that underground building he busts off onto some wackos (maybe vampires, maybe demons, doesn't matter), which have a big bad demon among them. Tough fight, cool effects, etc... but he kills it. Also, the ninja gets in trouble a bit but not much and the protagonist kills the demon before. Then he looks with his glare towards the ninja (they had that 'arguing' before, well the protagonist did at least), but then goes out (naturally being stalked by you-know-who ).

Then, when the protagonist rests a bit, they finally get some time to talk. Obviously the protagonist tries to avoid this. But he gets pushed and doesn't care anymore, starts to explain stuff like "what you have witnessed isn't even a fraction of what I have experienced" or babbling about Unspeakable Horrors, you know the type right? (though let's say, a good film makes it justifiable/understandable after what he's been through). So he finally decides to accept the sidekick.

After that, you can get an idea of most stuff what's happening. Fights, discussions with various 'wackos' (about demons & such) from different cities, some drama (the sidekick is after all, not completely insensitive like the protagonist, though make no mistake, is damn Badass as well).

What is interesting here, and the reason I added this 'sidekick' is two-fold. One is, to increase awareness -- and to let our protagonist talk to someone to explain his stuff, his 'pain', his agony, his whatever (and his backstory ), though by no means bragging about it (the sidekick after all, insisted on stalking him). This is to let the audience know what's happening and know his story. Second is to increase drama and have an effect on the story as well. You see, I'm going to "humanize" this protagonist because of the sidekick. There WILL be scenes in which the sidekick does most of the work and spares the protagonist from fighting off (not demons, but let's say bandits, or guards (when they want to get in somewhere), etc...), and gives him some "lessons" as to morals and stuff (the protagonist doesn't really have much, remember? so at first he tries to ignore them, but later on he starts to regain very few of his emotions back). And there will be also crucial plot regarding this.

Then sometime later, the sidekick asks the protagonist if he would like to get into the "ninja village" (whatever), where all sorts of hard training takes place to become a shinobi (ninja). Anyway the point is, obviously, the sidekick is one of them.

But then word is some overlord wants to wipe out the town. Reason? I dunno, not thought about that. Could be because he is dominated by a demon, or because he doesn't quite like Ninjas (with they having supernatural powers and all) so they pose a thread. The basic thing is, he gathered an army and is going to wash them over the face of the Earth. What to do?

Well, just as the protagonist is about to take off from this village (after learning a thing or two from ninjas ), the sidekick BEGS him (yes begs him) to defend the village (very dramatic moment, kinda hard to refuse, but we're talking about a stoic here). Anyway the point is, no matter what the sidekick does (could even cry out loud for that), the protagonist is NOT GOING TO SHOW any kind of emotion whatsoever, and just stare there listening, though you will "feel" (I mean the audience) somewhat that he thinks about this and isn't completely insensitive (he could even be given a 'beg-hug' and still not show any emotion ).

Then we see some hard dark and war music with the lord's army approaching. But what's that? There's this guy in the front of the village, standing there calmly without any movement. It isn't superman, it's the protagonist!!

Expect some awesome and deadly glare from the protagonist, some wind blowing up his robe in quietness, you know the moment... then he starts to conjure some stuff up (the army, obviously, thinks it's some kind of joke), and we end up with the first kills. Then they realize it's serious business, the dude is decided to wipe them all out, so they start. First with arrows, but that doesn't work, the protagonist blows them all with air. Then they use some siege weapons (catapults/cannons/whatever in the setting, undecided), but those are punched back as well in air. Much to their amazement, the army thinks "Who the hell does he think he is?", and start to charge towards him.

Now we're into serious business which goes to show just how badass the protagonist really is and beats the crap outta them -- with combinations of magic and martial arts. This takes some cool effects and action scenes, still stopping arrows as they are shot on him. Then The Cavalry comes (err I mean the Ninjas) and wipes out the rest of them. Guess what the protagonist does after the army is directed towards someone else? He puts his badass glare towards the cowardly lord who stays behind and watches it, probably with some theme music associated with him, and goes the slow walk towards him. Expect some epic moment of awesomeness. No need to give out details what happens to the lord, right?

Then it's some more stuff but this post is big enough already. This doesn't mean that the village assault is the ending though.

No, I do not expect to make this movie end with "the killing of the big bad demon that haunts the protagonists' dreams", that's too cliche and classic. I end with an open ending, with "unfinished business" (possibly for a sequel), but with a more "humanized" protagonist (due to the sidekick & the experiences during their partnership, including the village stuff).

No idea for the cast. Maybe Keanu Reeves for the protagonist, but he could feel a bit out of place. It depends. (I just gave the 'style' how he's supposed to look, not a muscular badass but a serious-looking bookworm type of badass (or like you see from most martial arts movies).

Question to Dagoth: What are your hobbies?

My official hobbies:
I take speech classes. Wow, what a hobby, but since I have near-perfect pronunciation (except for my 'r' which I should consult a logopedist for, but what the hey) I actually take drama lessons as in the monologue. Every six months or so, I get to stand in a big room reciting some texts by some Dutch playwrights, while in the meantime, memorising lines and practicing it with a drama teacher. I'm really amateuristic, but I can pull it off to near-believable levels.

I also go to a youth movement organisation, called 'pink plus', which is like the scouts, except that it's more indoors. We discuss recent issues and play with the younger members (so we learn how to become guides ourselves and carry on the organisation). It's also religious by nature, but my organisation is the exception. (all o them are either atheist, don't think about it and one of them is into the rastafari philosophy, so that sucks)

on the side I do:

I take guitar lessons... The easy way, so chords instead of notes

I read literature (preferably English) (and I like to read the theoretical approach to them, mostly I study/ read fantasy or gothic stuff).

So those are my hobbies... More or less, unless having a girlfriend and having mood swings over it counts as a hobby.

Wait a moment for me to think of a question.
In the meantime:

That's the 'berserk' protagonist who reminds me a lot of your protagonist (spoilers about berserk storyline):
- He had a dark past
- He doesn't respect life, but he does adhere to some sort of honor code
- He's an anti-hero (a byronic one sometimes)
- He lives in a dystopian world
- He faces demons ALL THE TIME
- He's actually been to hell and back (he really had a dark past)
- Oh, and he's also a stoic. With usually onefacial expression ==>

Now... Time to think of a question

a hard question indeed... the value of humane life is the highest value posible. life as a life are scared. though art shall not kill.
as a last resort one must thing twice, however,in our times there is no black nor white, but shades of gray, and many shades of gray. it's not seldomly that there is a reason to use self defense and by mistake kill the perpetrator by use of excessive force. Wars.
"A bad peace is not better then war" Gaius Julius Ceaser.
a smart saying, but in war casualty's are inhabitable.
there are no winners in war, only those who lose and those who lose some more. it's scared the value of life, but many times, reason are found to counterdict it,and one becaumes a target for brutal murder, something he's crimes might deserve.

Change name to...erm, I guess Belewein, its a name I used in a RolePlay quite some time ago

Avatar change to....the one I first used at Heroes Community - I can't find the picture, but she was another blue chick.

My question is to MightyMage:

Is there anyone at HC that you truly dislike? As in to the extent that if you were told they'd be in town and you were asked to go for a visit - you would pass on a meeting just because you don't want to see them?

If the answer is yes, try to tell us what it is that you dislike - and whether or not this person is aware of it, or if you hide it because of course mods have to be neutral blablabla...

Naturally I don't expect you to name anyone - or give obvious examples of why you dislike them so that people might figure it out.

I will be completely honest here.

I HATE

no one here.  Sorry if you were looking for my long and thought out letter of evil and in-kind words but I've never hated anyone here.  I have been annoyed by people though and I don't mind sharing names because most of you know who you are.

William:  Back when Willy was a new member, he annoyed the HELL out of me.  In fact, he annoyed most of the moderators and he knows that.  He's come a long way from how he used to be.  I don't have him blocked on AIM any more either.

Trogdor:  I used to get annoyed with this guy when he started his string of QP begging then hate threads after I denied him the QPs.  However, the annoyance lasted maybe a day.  Now I find it kind of funny and laugh every time I think about it.  Good times.

RSF:  What can I say about good old RedSoxFan?  Well, him and I go way back.  He was one of the first mods for the Bard's Glade Pyre and used to give out QPs like candy on Halloween.  Some of them were deserved but when I took his place as BGP Mod with Asmodean, he expected me to be the same way.  I was a pretty stingy with QPs when I started out and boy did Sox get on my case.

Aculias:  Before I really knew him, Pecu's tosses used to really annoy me....until I tossed him back.  Now that Mexican pretty boy wannabe is cool in my book.

Lith:  When I was younger and a regular member, I used to think Lith had a stick permanently shoved up his ass.  Once I got to know him however, I found out he wasn't that bad, and actually had two sticks permanently shoved up his ass.

Namus:  I am annoyed at this member and it isn't even his fault.  If his few retarded spam posts hadn't been kind of funny, the 20+ Namus accounts that followed would have never been created and I would be a much happier person.

That's all I can think of for now.

I'm looking at the player list and there's nothing I really want to ask you guys (and girls) right now.  I'll have to think of something so give me some time.
