Agrelius left the room. Angelito stared at the clothes. He had two choices.

One  he could run away with his clothes and leave his life's savings behind him.
Two he could stick around and lead Agrelius to a clearing and speak with him and attempt to get his money back.

He decided his money was more important.

He jumped down and followed them.

Joseph looked carefully at the vampire standing in front of him, trying to evaluate the situation. A Lasombra... and a strong one by the looks of things. That meant that Joseph's domination skills are out of the question here. Engaging in hand-to-hand combat would be suicidal, Joseph never excelled at this sort of things. He could even hide in the shadows from this one, in fact it would only make matters worse.

Joseph continued inspecting this new menace: a proud, powerful stance, confident movements, a shine in his eyes, demanding voice... wait... the shine in his eyes... there was something unusual about it, some spark... of madness! That strong, powerful vampire was not right in his head. There was some kind of obsession hiding behind that look. That was the key! Now if only he could find out more... Carefully choosing his words, Joseph Steinman finally decided to speak:

"I thank you forh yourh compliment. It is twice as prhecious when coming frhom someone as powerhful as you clearhly arhe."

As he said those words, Joseph watched carefully the reaction of Lasombra and much to his pleasure he detected a a slight, barely visible change in his aura. It was a good start, now to move to the point. He continued, weighing his every word:

"It is trhue that we do not know each otherh and yet the both of us have chosen to visit the highly rhespected prhince of this land in the same night. This is trhuly a rhemarhkable coincidence... if it is a coincidence of courhse. Afterh all, therhe is a verhy fine line between coincidence and fate. Could it not be that it is by herh will that we arhe standing herhe rhight now, talking to each otherh? Could it not be that therhe is a higherh rheason forh ourh meeting?"

Joseph gave the Lasombra a mysterious look to go well with his ambiguous words. However, inside he felt very tense. His mind had chosen a path and laid a trap that would either save him or kill him. And all he could do now was wait.

After apologizing to Sevasti and comforting her, Agrelius went back to the room to look for his old clothes so he could clean it. However, it mysteriously disappeared. The wolf was just laying on his bed, smiling and wagging its tail as if it had achieved something. Agrelius thought that maybe the wolf just got all active and within the midst of it, displaced the clothing. Agrelius just shrugged and lied down on Sevasti's bed, seeing as his own was already occupied. Later, Sevasti came to the room, and upon seeing Agrelius sleeping on her bed and the wolf on his bed, proceeded to lightly push Agrelius to one side of the bed. Then she got in the bed and slept, for the day was long, and night had already come. All the while, the wolf stayed awake, as if waiting for something happen.

"Oi! Wake up you louts!" yelled the voice of the village headsman, "Don't make me knock down this door!"
Morning has arrived, and Agrelius and Sevasti has overstayed the village's hospitality. They both woke up, to find the wolf alert and awake with it's ears perked up...

Angelito was sure that he had picked the wrong choice on staying with them and now he had proof. If he would go check who was there he would give himself way. But now he had no choice. He went to the key hole to see how many there were. There were a few men. But they did not look like peasants. He was going to risk it. And he was doing it as much for himself as much as himself.

He changed gaining a half human form that was not as horrifying as the bulky counter part that is heard in stories.

Sevanti was about to scream but Agrelius put his hand over her mouth.

"Um... we should get moving i think..." He said but they stood gaping at him.

Angelito shook his head. He jumped out the window. It was as dark as molten tar and the moon was nowhere to be seen even this cloudless night but there were torch bearers all around looking menacing. The Stables were mercifully deserted with a few of the horses steering.
He looked back up to late seeing that the fall was steep. He turned into a more powerful form and said to the two who were watching him.

"Jump now or you can rot with the Ottomans later!"

Seeing their looks he told them.

"If your worrying about your possessions i have hidden them in the brush. I picked up their scent just as the wind shifted!"

Sabastian chuckled and relaxed a little.  For some reason he liked this person.  "Perhaps.  Who knows what fate holds.  Word is that somebody is now hunting us, the hunters.  I can not allow that to continue. So, are you with us or against us?  My instincts tell me you have come for a similar reason, and will perhaps make a decent ally."

The shadows whispers grew louder to Sabastian.  They agreed that this person was not an enemy.  In fact they insisted he might be very very useful..

Following the wolf-human-thing's advice, Agrelius jumped out, but at the last second, held onto the ledge with one hand while helping Servasti down with the other. Then he hopped down, only to end end up on the ground with an aching back. All three of them ran to the stables, and quickly readied themselves for another narrow escape...

Before sprinting across to the stables Angelito looked through the window of the bar. There was a man hunched down, clearly terrorized by the red figure standing in front of him.

"There was no one there! You filthy lying Greek pig!" Said the pacing figure slaping the stubby man down to the floor.

"NO-no... *sob* I tell you... *sniff* they're there *sob*.
A-A-And they have... th-thi-is wolf! Yes... He's Ye big" said the man stretching his arm to make a rough estimate of Angelito's size.

"You Arh an liah and a trait'ah I will'h reporth this to mah superiorh" said the Ottoman kicking the man's shin with his boot.

"Andh yourh wife shall spend teh nighth with meh as a punishmenth for you!" said the Ottoman taking a woman who was sitting in the shadow and, or so it seemed, to illustrate what he was going to do with his wife he kissed her grasping her tightly.

The man sobbed and begged him not to do it but the Ottoman laughed and left with the woman tightly about his arm.

Angelito Picked out all of the clothes of the couple from the bush and quickly stuffed down all the clothes down a sack and strapped them on to the horses back. The horse was restless, sensing the werewolf's rough hands. It shifted slightly, neighing quietly as the sack was strapped on him. He helped Sevati up who felt as soft as snow in his current form. Agrelius was up next who seemed weightless.

"There they are!" yelled an Ottoman and a few Ottomans armed with cross bows formed up to fire.

"Go!" said Angelito slapping the horse. He shape shifted to wolf form and went after them. He ran almost as fast as a horse but lagged behind a little.

Agrelius and Sevasti were confused by the strange turn of events. The "pet" wolf is helping them escape from Ottoman soldiers, but he is part man as well. However, now was not the time for thinking. It was a time of fleeing. The duo upon the horse, Agatha, were being closely followed by the wolf with no longer any trace of human upon him. Arrows fell around them as the Ottoman Crossbowman aimed for the escapees. Sevasti was in terror again, but Agrelius took the initiative and guided the horse to a ravine, where the Ottoman pursuers could be shaken off. The Wolf followed close behind.

Joseph smiled to himself in his mind. Once again, his sharp wit saved him from certain death and this time there was also a bonus - a powerful vampire who will prove a useful tool as long as Joseph go right about the whole deal. Off course, none of those thoughts revealed themselves in any way to his new partner, instead only awe and gratefulness were seen on the face of the old outcast.

Agony could be felt and heard like harsh winds in the nightly air. A tall, muscular man; of long, curly dark hair, held beaten and tortured by shadows in the night. Nobles... thugs... A heated iron spike approaching the eye, orange rust, hot as Hell itself, being the last thing he had ever seen... Blinded and buried alive, screaming and scratching the inner side of his coffin, his fingers bleeding under his nails, he was lowered into the darkness, never to be seen again.

Vlad opened his eyes and stared at the wall blankly. He would be breathing heavily if he was alive; tears would be flowing down his cheeks, roars of rage and anguish flowing from him.
Now, he felt nothing. Nothing but cold, calculated hatred, cold as ice yet as hot as the heated spikes his brother was blinded with and then buried alive...
So long ago...
By the very nobles he now seemingly ruled.

He remembered how he screamed for vengeance when the news reached him, while he and his younger brother Radu were still held hostage in the Turkish court. The late Mircea was the third and eldest brother, his father's right hand man, whom he hadn't even gotten to know too well before he was brutally murdered by political adversaries in his current capital of Tirgoviste.

So many memories... So much suffering... But Vlad Dracula was a man of his word, and his list of grudges was often as enjoyable as it was long. Love was a distant tale taken from him when he chose to be Embraced and leave such trivialities behind. Compassion was but a memory from his earliest childhood; irrelevant and impossible in this world he lived in. Vengeance, however, was much more real; and often brought infinitely more satisfaction.

"Sire..." A young page entered his chambers. "The boyars are awaiting."

Boyars... The treacherous petty nobility of Wallachia... Parasites of the court, good only for stabbing one in the back when he least expects it. No Count could ever rely on them; but they were all too weak to stand up to their power.
This would change.
Tonight.

"I am coming," he replied. "Serve them the first dish, let the feast start."

The page nodded and left the room, entering the large hall where the feast was held. He had never seen so many important faces in one place before. From boyars to bishops, the cream of the land was seated there, at long, well-crafted wooden tables only fit for someone of their status. He watched gleefully at their wondrous clothes of all colours and materials, at their golden chains and jewelry, signs of wealth beyond imagination of even a royal page as himself.

"The Count has ordered for the feast to commence," he said, followed by a chorus of nodding and affirmative mutterings from the hundreds present. "He shall join us shortly."

"About time," an overweight noble stated, grabbing a smoking hot mutton leg and putting it on his plate.

Several moments later, the door leading to the Count's chambers opened and he passed through them. The nobles didn't like his appearance, too unruly, too authoritarian. Too sure of himself. This was not a Count they wanted, one that suited them. They would have to deal with that soon enough.

Nodding at everyone present, Vlad Dracula took his seat at the head of the largest of the tables. He watched the cunning, plotting faces around him; the faces among whom, he knew, hid the murderers of his brother, and his father before him.

"Greetings to you, oh the noblest of boyars and the most magnificent of bishops in the land. I am honoured to have you by my side at this celebration tonight," he said royally, his eyes flying from one noble to another.

A general greeting was murmured among the invitees. As it lowered, Vlad continued.

"Before we continue with the meal, I have but one thing to ask of you."

He could feel hundreds of ears directed toward him in expectation.

"Tell me, my faithful servants, how many rulers have you outlived during your lifetimes?"

There was some smirking among those present, and then an uncomfortable, but short silence.

"Seven, my lord," one of them replied.

"Myself," another one stated, "I have survived over two dozen."

"After your grandfather," a fat, bragging man responded, "there was no less than twenty counts, sire, and I have outlasted all of them!"

In such an almost humorous way, Dracula could feel that every boyar in the chamber admitted, even boasted, to having outlived countless rulers; almost all of whom, Vlad knew, were put into place and taken down by themselves. Wallachia was a bastion of chaos and lawlessness; its rulers weak, and its subordinates unruly as ever. Finally, a chilling fury climbed up his spine and embraced his mind. It was time.

"Guards!"

Dozens of armed guards - all faithful ghouls - apparently just waiting for the order, surrounded the room.
Yells of surprise and confusion came from the nobles.

"What is this travesty?!" several of them demanded.

"Take half of them to the stakes," the Count hissed. "The other half shall be taken to work for the first time in their lives... They shall toil to rebuild the castles and bastions of the land until their fancy clothes are ripped to shreds and they fall stricken by the harshness of the sun."

As the screaming children were taken away from the boyar wives and they were taken out to the looming courtyard filled with sharp wooden stakes, or to slavery among the remote fortresses in the mountains, Dracula stood and watched, his eyes gleaming, his mouth formed in a diabolical smirk dancing across his lips.

"Let all other lords in the land know that a new age is coming. An age of law, order, and power in Wallachia. An age in which they shall join me, or share the fate of their colleagues."

He glanced through the crimson skies through one of the iron-grated windows; toward the moon-lit hills where he knew the Tzimisce still beckoned in refuge, cold, ruthless and thirsty for revenge much more than he ever was.

"Though I feel that we are not fortunate enough for this to be the greatest evil that shall come to these forsaken lands..."

He turned around, his cape floating behind him like wings of a giant bat, beside the fear-stricken page standing motionless, his back facing the wall lit with torches.

"There is no place for fear. The true horrors are yet to arrive. And we shall be prepared."

He could see his brother's face in front of him. Buried, eyeless, beaten, bleeding... and smiling.

Agrelius, Sevasti and the Wolf-man stopped in a clearing once they had shaken off the Ottoman riders. The place was surrounded by trees and tall grasses. A small stream enclosed by mossy boulders lay near. Agatha, the horse, was hitched to a tree and given some oats from Agrelius. Then Agrelius pulled out a sword that he had stolen from an Ottoman soldier and putt it to the wolf-man's neck saying, "Who are you!? No...What are you!?! Speak, or I shall end your life now!"
"No!" screamed Sevasti, "He saved our lives! This is not how we should repay him!"
"Then we shall repay him with our flesh, Sevasti!" replied Agrelius harshly.
Suddenly, the wolf-man's fur shredded off of him and his physique changed, revealing a mere boy.
"No..." Agrelius said as he edged away from the boy in shock and slumped by a tree. This was not the monster he had expected...

Wulfstan stood up. Blood was dripping from his lips. He felt the renewed and full of strenght. He looked at the corpses again. Who knows how many lives their marauding rampage ruined. But frankly, Wulfstan didn't really cared. He remembered his life in Japan. The samurai treated the peasantry like slaves. In fact, worse than that. Samurai were the only caste that had names. True names. He always disgraced this behavior.
He pulled himself together. He's now a vampire. Although a clanless renegade, but a vampire non the less.
A wolf howled nearby.
Wulfstan tied the two corpses to nearby pines. The heads were mounted on a roadsign. This should be a nice warning to other honorless dogs. Being happy with his handwork, Wulfstan returned to the carriage.

Angelito was pinned down in wolf form. Without the use of his limbs he was prety much helpless so he changed into human form. Agrelius seemed to deflate and sank on a stone apparently to shocked to do much. Sevati seemed to be speechless untill she said.

"B-b-but you-rr-re just a-a-a little boy!"

The unreality started to sink in and by that time Angelito had dressed himself up.

"Who did this to you?" asked Sevanti in amazement.
"No one. I was like this since i was born." Said Angelito plainly.
There was more to happen he was certain.

A hunting horn was sounded, far off in the distance. It was getting lighter and by the sound of it the nobles have gone for a bit of entertainment. The hunt was on and they were in the way.

He smelled the ottomans before they came into the clearing. As Agrelius and Sevanti were packing he turned into a slender manlike form(but that had 10 times more hair than a human)and climbed the tree. As the arrow was fired on Agrelius Angelito jumped down on the horses hindquarters and startled it into rising on its two hind legs throwing the noble off while Angelito jumped into another noble who rode away. Most nobles were scared senseless and one particularly brave ottoman released his hunting hounds on Angelito.

They barked madly, growling like it was a death threat.

Angelito contracted his diaphragm and barked so hard the dogs fell silent, and ran with their tail between their legs.

"Ahem. Lets get out of here before they come to theyre senses and realize they havent gone mad.

"Yes, come my brother. May your mind race and your passions boil with rage!"

The lone wolf stood hidden within the mountainous forest thinking to himself. Darkness had fallen and with it brought the embrace of night, her clouds ushering in the promise of even more rain. However, tonight they acted as a backdrop to the macabre sceen about to take place. As if to punctuate his own thoughts...

Exploding from the mouth of the cave came a seething mass of muscle and fury. Even from this distance, the dark wolf could clearly see the murderous intent in his brother's eyes. "Amazing!" he thought to himself. "He doesn't even know to fear the fire. Come my brother, tarry not with these mortals..." His own thoughts trailed off as he realized that it would do no good to think such things.

The seasoned veteran guards were prepared for the impending onslaught. The growling wind was enough to warn them to act or die, and they had done so. Bellowing forth the order to brace, the senior officer was far quicker than his subordinate. His pike braced and readed just at the last moment as they turned to face the entrance, the wolf creature erupted out of the cave. Gaping maw set and focused towards the slower of the two, the glistening teeth tore threw the protective armor covering his neck. Saliva splattered all over the men as the wolf's teeth broke skin. A major artery must have been severed, blood gushed forth from the doomed man in gouts. His vision was blurring quickly as he fell to his knees in a clatter trying desperately to grab at his throat....

Simultaneously, the quicker Officers metal shaft met the wolf's charge. Piercing staight through the creatures upper right shoulder, his momentum pushing the haft half way through his body. A blood curtling howl raged forth from the wolf as the pike was torn out of the officer's hands. The shear force alone sending both rolling to the ground. The wolf being ripped from the throat of the the other, sending up a spray of more blood, sweat and spit. The pike having shredded the shoulder, tearing muscle and tendons. Sickening pops could be heared despite the sudden carnage.

Torrents of screams from the men and howling barks from the wolf cracked the night's calm like lightning strikes. Instinctually, both the remaining combatants rolled out of the fall. The grizzled veteran despite his bulky armor moved with a stunning grace. The creature didn't even seem to be phased by the huge steel pike portruding from his body over three feet in either direction. But his arm, his leg, whatever it was hung limp at his side. The officer lunged and grabbed at the handle of the weapon. The wolf, far quicker yet jumped away back towards the mouth of the cave. Biting down with blood stained and dripping jaws, he bit through the handle and snapped it in two. The officer having drawn a sword, readied himself closer to one of the blazing fires. His doomed companion lay twitching in the dirt, a pool of blood slowly expanding around him, eyes frozen open staring in terror into the great unknown.

A howl from the forrest raised the hackles on the back of both the wolf's and the man's necks. The sudden and violent sceen coming into better focus durring the quick lull.

The path down the mountain side lay very close to the wolf's side, well away from the officer. Whether out of instinct or injury, the creature backed slowly away and turned to run down the trail and into the night as best he could on three limbs.................

"No!" his brother howled and exclaimed as he saw his kin get impaled. Fury has no better description than if one could witness the beauty and grace at which this creature hurled himself through the forest towards the battle....

"And where do you think your going dog!?" The officer yelled and stepped forward. But already the injured creature was padding away down the trail. "I don't think you heard me, imputant welp!" The man roared as he followed quickly down the trail, bloody boot prints falling in his wake, having stepped through his own soldier's pool of ichor. Sheathing his sword he pulled a dagger to throw. With uncommon dexterity the blade flew quick and true...

Thunder erupted from the trees just off the path. Wood splinters flying everywhere as a bushes and trees that were unwilling to move did so anyway under the force of the other's arival. The injured creature instinctually sprawled flat as the overwhelmingly huge mass hurled directly over him directly toward the suprised officer. Eyes popping wide as he witnessed the wolf catch the dagger in mid flight between his teeth and snap it like a twig, the man quickly reached for his sword.

Despite his years of service, he was no match for what loomed up before him. The giant creature landed swiftly on top of the officer, fulling enclosing his armored head within his jaws. With a crumpling pop the man's head caved under the powerful force. Metal, bone fragments, eyes, blood, grey matter and ichor of all type gushed forth from the maw of the huge beast. With a poetic and fitting slump, the warrior slumped to his knees and fell over dead just as his own soldier had, but without his head.

The injured creature turned to witness the sceen unfold. Suprised by this new wolfs arival and what he had just seen. The other systematically spewed out the remnants of the man's head and turned to face his brother. The form of wolf changing mid stride into a man as he walked towards him. "Fear not Anastas, it is I, Aric. You have been gone too long from home dear brother and much has changed."

Standing back up, this time on two legs instead of four, Anastas searches quickly for the right words. "Brother? But how..what, where..?" he began to stammer. "You need not worry yourself for now Anastas, we must move away from this place quickly. We are not safe here." Aric replied. "Yes, your are correct about that. I desire to get as far away from here as possible..br..brother" Anastas let the word out as if foreign to him. He then quickly started towards the trees...

"Umm, brother" Aric called softly..and Anastas turned in annoyed response..."what? I wan't to...".."Brother, you have half of a pike sticking out your back and your stark naked"

"OH! Yes. of course." Anastas responded and with unceremonious grace he pulled the broken pike out of his back without so much as a flinch. Dropped in on the ground and turned back towards the forest. Aric stood there momentarily stunned, shook his head, smiled and darted into the trees after his brother..........

A lonely rider in a brown cape made his way across the forest. The bright moon in the sky filled the road with long shadows cast by ancient trees. Nothing but hooting of owls and an occasional wolf howl disturbed the traveler's ride. A brown hood covered his face as his head was resting on his chest. It looked almost as if he was sleeping. Maybe it was this drowsy state that prevented him from noticing a couple of figures move through the forest around him. There was no noise, no warning, but a few seconds later the rider known to some as Joseph Steinman was surrounded by a group of men with dangerous looking crossbows and swords. One of them said with a grin on his face:

"This is the end of the road for you, traveler."

"What is the meaning of this?", Joseph asked in confusion. "Is this a rhobberhy?!"

"Don't play dumb!" shouted another one of the men "If it was up to us, you'd already be dead. Lucky for you, there's someone who would like to have a word with you, vampire."

"Vampirhe? Me? I... I don't underhstand... this must be some mistake, I'm no..."

"SILENCE!", a man wielding a crossbow interrupted him, "We are vampire hunters, we know how to find your kind! Now, get off that horse, before I impale your heart with my bolt."

Joseph sighed and dismounted. The look of confusion on his face changed into that of submission.

"Alrhight, alrhight, you got me. Therhe's no rheason to continue this charhade any longerh. Heh, I wonderh though, which one of you, mighty hunterhs will get the crhedit forh catching me?"

A couple of the younger looking hunters looked somewhere behind and to the left of Joseph. After a moment of silence his answer came from that direction.

"What it is to you, vampire?"

Joseph slowly turned his head to face that man.

"Oh, nothing, nothing... it's just that, if you arhe the leaderh, then we don't need anyone else..."

Joseph face changed once again, this time showing the satisfactory grin of a predator. He raised his head revealing his deep, ancient eyes that pierced right through the leader soul and uttered but one word to him:

"Frheeze."

Everything was going exactly as they had anticipated.  A few small 'mistakes' around town, and they had known that the hunters would be looking for them.  They only needed one alive, and it was time to teach these 'hunters' who really was the hunted.  Watching blended into the shadows Sabastian knew the location of each and every one of the ambushers.

He could not be everywhere at once, but he did not have to be.  His blood pulsed with a fire from the vial of blood he had drank so long ago.  Around him the shadows seemed to shudder in anticipation, and then they closed in on the unsuspecting hunters.  Almost as if he teleported he was beside one of them, a dark gleem in his eye.  Using these unusual gifts made his sooo thirsty.  Grabbing the man by the throat he drank long and deep.

Around his new ally, short screams of pain could be heard, then silence.  Total silence.  Then Sabastian stepped closer to the lone living man.  "I've left one or two of the others alive, just in case.  They are not in the best condition, but I felt we might need a backup in case this one fails to give us what we need.  Besides..I can't take all the fun, these are way too easy."

"My lord Mihnea," the rider reported. The tavern around has been silent in the night; a silence undoubtedly caused by the fate that fell upon the residents. Blood was splattered on the walls, and gruesome remains of men, women and horses adorned the dining hall in piles. Lord Mihnea wasn't the most artistically talented of Tzimisce, but he certainly treasured a homely atmosphere. "We have just found a horse carrying an unlikely visitor down the road."

Mihnea glanced across his cup. He was sitting at a large table, in the most comfortable chair that could be found at the place, and dining. He needed a good meal and rest if he was to gather the remnants of the Sabbat effectively in the midst of enemy territory.

"Bring him in."

Two young vampires from Mihnea's retinue brought in a bloodied body of a Turk, his clothes worn and dusty but seemingly rather expensive, several iron spikes protruding from his turban.

"Is he alive?"

"Yes, my lord. But he is gravely wounded and cannot speak. His horse was frightened but unharmed."

"Feed him."

The vampire gave Mihnea a slightly confused look.

"My lord?"

"I will not repeat myself."

Mihnea's servant reluctantly cut his wrist and let the blood drip into the Turk's mouth for several seconds. Miraculously, he opened his eyes, and even whispered several words in his language.

"The innkeeper speaks his heathen tongue. Bring him."

The terrorized innkeeper, him and his daughters left alive for now, was quickly brought from the back room where they were thrown and chained. His recently scarred and beaten face nodded in frightened acceptance as Mihnea ordered him to translate to the Turk.

"Ask him who he is."

"H... he says he is an... an emissary, m'lord. Fr... from the Ottoman lands."

"Tell this Ottoman to reveal us his undoubtedly exciting tale."

And the emissary started speaking, apparently no less frightened than the innkeeper. From one hell into another he went, and none by his own will.

"He was part of a diplomatic expedition," the innkeeper started, a little calmed down by the fact that he was still alive. "Sent into Wallachia to... to collect tribute from the Kaziklu Bey - th... that's Turkish for Impaler Prince, or lord Dracula-"

"He is no lord," Mihnea hissed. The human cowered, but saw no immediate retribution. "Continue."

"...the... the tribute was supposed to be comprised of gold and children for the janissaries, and is custom among all lands that accept the Sultan's rule. But lor... but Dracula instead asked them why wouldn't they... take off their headgear, as all emissaries do, showing respect for the ruler. They... they answered that their faith and custom do not allow them to remove the turbans from their heads, to which he remarked that their faith is commendable but that the Sultan and his Turks should not force their customs on courts and lands in which they weren't wanted. Then he... ordered the turbans nailed to their heads... with iron spikes."

Mihnea took another glimpse at the spikes protruding from the turban. He grinned diabolically, these apparently being good news.

"Send him on his way, he needs to get this message across to his superiors. The fool has, in his arrogance, gone to war with the entire Ottoman Empire!" He laughed. "I know this madman. Cunning as he is, he is still a berserker and a glory hound... He shall charge ahead of his armies, drunken with fury and power, straight on the Turkish legions... and even if he should somehow survive the battles against some of the most powerful armies in the world, he shall return to find us waiting. Rest well, for we move to Transylvania the next evening. We have an army to summon."

The retinue cheered loudly, their yells carrying echoes of their dark, bloodthirsty souls.

"And what of the innkeeper and the barmaids, my lord?"

"Who? Ah... well... after these news, I believe a feast is in order."
