Enhanced Henchmen

Hello there !

From game to game, I've seen AI henchmen that sometimes have high level AND stack experience. I mean that when I had made a right click on it, it got the two golden sword proving that it is an ace henchman. And fighting a ace war zealot henchman lvl 12 can't be called a joke.

I was wondering if this is a bug, if we, human players, can have ace henchman or not else if we can have them with a script.

Thanks,

This enhancement is due to a script, try to find it in the events panel in the editor.
I love this feature too, which renders the henchman much more interesting, but overpowered too

What event panel

No, for having ace henchmen, you must play at least as well as the AI.

Paulemile told me about an event panel in the editor.

If i understand well what you mean is that I don't need any special script to have ace henchman ? I thought the stack experience (like enchanters learning spell immunity) was disabled for henchman

With stack experience enabled, the Henchman will gain very slow experience, but will gain it. Now:

If you choose a low level creature as henchmen, it will have faster ace level, but be weak.
if you choose high level creature, it will gain slowly but will be strong.

The AI has alwyas ACE henchemn because he choose from the first day, so he use some crap low level creature.

I had already fought an ace hell stead. And even using a master gremlin, i don't remember having seen it gaining stack XP, that's why I asked.

Thanks. I'm going to test it in a crazy way.

I never played with henchmen but should act as any creature. It is also possible that when you choose an ace creature as henchmen, it keeps its actual experience level. Try it.

I just checked and it is exactly as I said in first post. If your henchmen is not experienced, that means you don't fight enough.

When I read this, I understand that henchmen earn their own experience.
But they do not learn the bonuses they can gain like stacks do.

I mean, open the editor and press ctrl+enter and go to the events section, where the erm scritps are put.
Henchmen have their own progression system, but you can add the regular stack experience to it too.

Check out a screen of this map called the dragon slaughter where you can find these improved henchmen.
