I find being judged as a conspiracy lunatic just because I post a video that so happens to contain a large amount of that crap even though that's not even the POINT why I post it, to be insulting as well

@ Lexxan: Touché.

If not propaganda, then what do you call that video?

It doesn't TELL you to believe whatever is said in it, it tells you to do your own research.

But I don't know how many times I need to repeat that isn't the point I posted it. Nor does it matter either, I still get judged for the rest.

A lot of conspiracy theorists are also left-wingers of various stripes, so I have to ask them: why would the capitalists want a "New World Order" when the current one is suiting their exploitative desires just fine?

As for Obama - of course he's nothing special. Yes, if the capitalist influence doesn't prove too strong, he might try to rein in some of the system's most flagrant excesses (executive pay, etc.). But he will keep the system largely intact.

Greed is fostered by the capitalist system. The only way to solve it is at its root - at the abolition of capitalism. And, unless it's to be replaced by mercantilism, the abolition of capitalism means socialism - so left-wing.

If you had opened a topic about the promises that Obama has broken, it would have been way more interesting. Teh "documentary" is rather poorly filmed, and the main dude is paranoid. "someone is tailing us" and they go on and film a car following them to the supermarket. So? The freaking dude was going to the supermarket, and they conclude he is tailing them. Seriously...

Am I the only one that thinks he has a point? It's one thing to disagree with him but an entirely different to ridicule him. I think we should go back to just to disagree...

Not Obama

But not for the reasons you or your video have poorly attempted to illustrate. I see him more as a "celebrity public office holder" rather than a truly historic and remarkable individual. I see nothing remarkable about him.

My President

I don't agree with Peacemaker. I don't agree with The_Gootch. I don't agree with Dkolb. I don't agree with Mvassilev. I would not agree with Wolfman if he were here. (this was his first election to participate in) And I don't think anyone here agrees with me and my choice for President.

But.....

There is something all these people have in common with me. Within all of these people one can find no small amount of reason, logic, compassion, and genuine concern for the state of affairs within this great nation we call home. Each and every one of them has carefully taken great pains to look into the issues that are important to them. It's a matter of having the benefits of the history of the Age of Reason and of the Age of Enlightenment inherent in their persons. Some were taught it and others learned it but all of them most certainly have it. Here in this most unlikely place we find persons of the most commonplace settings taking up some of the most noble causes.

In here we often see someone spring into existence and blurt out a passing shallow comment having given absolutely no critical thinking toward what is being said. For them there is no due process. For them there is only what feels good right now and how it affects them directly. And to these persons we have given the name 'spammer'. And why? Well because it almost always seems like they don't really care what other people think at all. No consideration given for the good of others? How can this be you might ask? Well, actually, no one is asking and with good reason. Both they and their comments are dismissed as soon as they're posted, and in some cases their comments are hauled off (entirely) to that lovely void in the Wastelands. My point is no one cares when someone is shallow and ignorant in this place, nor should they. But what if you began to experience real people behaving like spammers? And what if those real people were persons of no small significance to your own identity and sensibilities? Well if you're me then you would do as I did, stand there in shock, telling yourself it can't possibly be that real people whom you place a great deal of intellectual and moral stock in....have suddenly become emphatuated with their presidential candidate. These people have chosen to make a mockery of due process. They don't need to look at the candidate's history or qualifications or otherwise because they've met the person, well maybe not met but they were within audible distance!

And where am I in all this? Am I to look at them and simply dismiss them as we would a spammer? Not in my travels, not after all I've seen and all the people I've met. I've seen more people like this than not. We're talking about people who have a job more or less, will never be politicians, yet whom pass down to their children the greatness of a little known nation selfishly called America. Where is the logic? Where is the wisdom of our founding fathers? Where is the wisdom of the civil rights movement's infrastructure and organization, it's educated approach to combatting the 'accursed thing's' grandchild: segregation? Where is my God that he should let my people betray their most highest office through groupie behavior? When power corrupts as it always does, who will they blame? Will it be that office occupant? Was it really entirely Bush's fault for his illegitimate war, or are We The People of a democratic society to share some of the blame and responsibility?

No, I won't stand by and let persons make a mockery of logic and reason. Rather than let some candidate slip in under the auspices of today's appropriately named *~celebrity status~*. I will fight any president I fear of being a possible godhead for fame and glamour. It just so happens to be Obama at the moment. I don't buy into the notion that he will somehow be the figurehead for civil rights that many people expect he would become. I won't be going to any of his concerts and I certainly won't be asking the man for his autograph. I require substance over sufficient.

Well unlike you, I don't believe we live in a fantasy cute little world where everything is perfect and your leaders really try to give their best for your benefit.

If you want it more details:

I don't believe America or many european countries are democracies at all, but it best shows in America. I do believe it is only a handful of very wealthy and powerful individuals that get to determine what presidential candidates you get to vote for, through campaign sponsoring and media attention. And you can bet your ass the only candidates that end up left for you to vote for are nothing more but puppets.

That's what I believe. It's not a democracy at all, it's an aristocracy that pretends to be a democracy, and I find it more dangerous than an in-your-face dictatorship.

There is nothing weird about this theory, it is very logical and reasonable. And the more I get called a conspiracy retard for it, or see patriots spewing their garbage, or people who believe the world is very green and pretty, the more I'm like "Forget it, I'm not going to bother trying anymore".

And that's why I love Hicks. Again I quote:

Quote:
"I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here: I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs. I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking. Hey wait a minute, there's one guy holding up both puppets! Shut up! Go back to bed America, your government is in control. Here's Love Connection, watch this and get fat and stupid. By the way, keep drinking beer, you ****ing morons."

Because it completely sums it, perfectly.

I remember back in 92' when Ross Perot could have won the presidency. And then he started talking about the Black Press.

If there isn't a conspiracy, I'd say I'm still bothered by some of the things that were in that video.

The fact that Obama is going to start a citizens army, which will be run by the president makes me the most worried. All of the bailouts that they are doing and the banks are just hoarding the money rather than loaning it out.

Also the fact that the Federal Reserve is a private institution.

All of these things are not good regardless of whether or not there is a conspiracy.
