Permanent Simultanious turns

Hello,

I Would like to Request a mod or Get Ask some assistance to make this mod myself. I'll start off with a back ground story and will come to the idea (wich probably will have been mentioned about a gazillion times before. later)(yes i used search but coudn't find anything)

Anyways. Me and 2 of my friends occasionaly play Homm V, but. Once the simultanious turns are over.. the game only crawls forward. Endgame this is not so big of a deal but at the beginning of one. it is.

Allright as for the idea.
Permanent Simultnious turns will only switch to turned mode if players heroes or debatingly everything a player bosseses if you are within 2-3 movement points of it. At wich point it will go into turned mode for 1 day. If by then the playes are further as 2 or 3 movement points away the game will resume simultaniously If not it will stay in turns untill Both human players are further then 2 movement points appart and the last player ended his turn for that day.

Now.
Is theire a mod that dous anything like this? i didn't find any so im posting. If theire is could Someone send me the link to it?
If theire isn't Is it possible to make one. I hope someone is interested in making a mod like this. If not. could anyone Tell me were to look to make a mod like this myself and wich problems i would have.

Kind regards

I remember some maps (like a Duel map I've downloaded) having Permanent Simultaneous turns, while others have not.

I'm not a modder, but I assume it's incorporated in the map-making itself.

I don't think it's possible at all to change the mechanics of simultaneous turns.  The best you can do is play a "speed-game" style of map where neither player ever meets the other.

Alas I don't think it is possible, that's why all recent toh maps are created to end simultaneous turns just before the end of the game.

you can't mod such a thing...
(but as Elvin says)... and all my maps  has a "counter" for early sim turn break....
(so try to play custom made maps... thats way you will be able to play sim turn till the end of the game, atleast only a few days of turn based left...)

Playing non-sim turns isn't the end of the world.  I have completed games in 1.6.

It's hell for me, I have often played people who take 20min turns. Even if the turns are 10 mins I can't spare the time, I want to finish my games as soon as possible to start new ones.

keep the screen without full-screen and do something else meanwhile, or do like I do I have a book next to my comp all the time.

OMG I gave Elvin a tip I'm doomed under a rain of penalities.

I don't think you are able to alter simolatenous turns that way, if you make a wall between two players and play, you don't see when the other player moves. he is just on anotherplace when the next round starts.

Hello Again!

I would like to thank you guys for the Great replies with, a for me somewhat Dissapointing Message. Namingly that its not possible to mod.

But Since theire are maps that counter Sim turn in a great way.
(i dont know witch maps )

Could anyone Tell me The exact things i have to keep in mind making a map that counters sim turn as long as possible? But that is fun at the same time ( i suppose that requires Ai)

And Secondly.. How do we know it is impossible to Alter how the mod system works?

Third.
If we realy cant alter the sim turn. THen how about We Make a mod that shows the radius within wich simturn gets ended.
-Say simturn gets ended when 2 players View radius's Cross. Then it should be easy.

-ps You dont have to play windowed. IF you minimize Your homm V
it will start to flash bright orange in your task bar when it is your turn or when you are attacked or something

Try the toh maps I have a list of my favourites in the questions FAQ masterpost. It's easy to keep the sim turns, just make sure that opponents cannot meet before endgame. Keep in mind that the game does not take into account border guards but it counts shortcuts like monoliths to break sim turns earlier. It also does not count neutrals that block a path unless they are strong enough.

So uhm.. what exacly dous count to break simturn.

And what are all the things that help maintain it? or a single simple thing?

if possible like riding next to eachother but something to keep simturn inbeweeen until lthe end or so?

Generally speaking, sim turns in 5 end the second when there is the possibilty of players interacting direcly with each other, ie attacking.

This is of course to prevent people from abusing the system, for example stealing ressources under the nose of their opponent who just cleared the guards.

But I can't help but think there has to be a better solution. In fact, I think I may have, but I'm not Nival.

It's rather enorced by unability to handle both player taking the same action (for example picking same pile of resources) in turn-based game. It makes just no logical sense and therefore need to be avoided.

Age of Wonders 2 has sim turns and exactly this issue. H5 might not be built to handle this, agreed, but even if it was we'd be having that problem.
