Oh, I hate Breeding, but it's something that i must do in order to get pokémon that can match up to the things you find in link battles and competetive play. I don't want to rely on overpowered pokémon too much, because they aren't my favourite ones anyway (with a few exceptions. I love Aegislash and Exadrill, for instance, but HATE Garchomp and Blaziken and everyone who uses them.)
Breeding is easy from the moment you get a male with great IVs. Once you get past that stage, it's a piece of cake. I have JUST hatched a male Vulpix with every IV except for special attack maxed out, so i'm going to have him breed with my female Piplup, untill i have what I need (a piplup with perfect IVs in HP, Def, Sp. Def, Speed and either Sp. Atk or Atk or both.) After that, another male Piplup with 5 IVs that I'm bound to hatch will breed with the female pokémon from the water 1 egg group that i've caught, while i'll have the Vulpix breed with other field group pokes that I have such as Mincchino. rinse and repeat.
It's very time consuming and tedious, but generally you only breed the species that you're planning on using as either squadmates or trade fodder.

So needlessly complicated and time consuming and adds nothing positive to the gameplay and those who wish to play a little more relaxed have to pay for it with their imperfect and disadvantaged pokemon. Different natures is were the line should be drawn as that allows different play styles for pokemon while not requiring too much extra effort to get.
That's why I play the games for storyline, using pokemon I like, adventure, and fun having, and simulators for competitive battling. Showdown is fun with all the interesting metagames, like OU Monotype.

I also eventually caught Articuno, but I wasted a fair few dusk balls as a result.
UPDATE: I have finally evolved an Eevee into a Glaceon.

Hey Lexxan!(or anyone else with the ability and will to help me)
You would not happen to be able to get me a Drill Run Beedrill from BW1/2? I need it for my future Escavalier and I would appreciate it a lot. 
I also got 4 new trained killers ready for DEATH-BATTLE as soon as they level up more and learn all their killing techniques.

i played white on an emulator, so no dice from me, sorry. (I assume you mean Karrablast because Beedril doesn't evolve into Escavalier)

That is a pity, I guess you got those non-XY ones from trade then like most others. I bet it will be hard to get my hands on a Beedrill with that move through Global Trade. 
If anyone else can do this, plz let me know.

You are in luck. I just caught a Spritzee today on a whim and I got a PokeRus Skrelp with waterfall that can easily be replaced. I shall go online right now and you do not have to worry much about trading something in return.

HA Vulpix? Awesome! And I had yet to get a HA Frokie from my friend so that saves some time. 
Vulpix was more orange than I remember so maybe I should name it BabyManticore.

you cannot rename pokémon obtained through trade though.
I have an entire box full of Drought Vulpixes. I got this one on wonder trade, but I didn't need her, as I have many with three IVs.
most of my protean froakies are bad IV-wise BUT Greninja sucks outside of its hidden ability, so it has uses.

What about emulators on these games? I remember I used to play Gold/Silver versions on some, but how about today? Is it even worth it?
before you ask, I'm the guy that can't waste his budget on handheld consoles or whatever the hell they're called these days.

Use DeSmuMEfor any GEN 4-5 Rom (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/White/Black/White2/Black2/HeartGold/SoulSilver) and Visual Boy Advance for Gen 3 (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen). Google both and you'll instantly find them.
Finding actual roms is a bit tricky though. Mine were given to me by someone else, so I never actually dowloaded them from the internet, whoops.

I switched away Blaziken (could have murdered your Keys)to Archeops just so that he would die and I could show off my Cloyster. Sadly, realizing after the battle, I confused Foul Play with a fairy move but Foul Play got BEASTLY against my Shell Smashed Cloyster and almost two hit killed him. I think a second Razor Shell would have killed off Klefki but I wanted to try turning you into an icicle pin-cushion.
I got nervous when the forgotten Goodra showed up and took down Magnezone but Blaziken had already secured victory before switching out.
I appreciated that you left out Aegislash as I think he could have pwned everyone of mine and that you removed thunder wave from Klefki. I also hope that you FEARED my new comrades in death dealing.
Generally I felt things went my way (like that time I switched to Miltank, only to almost get hit by a FOCUS BLAST). Two memorable mistakes of mine were though when I first let Carbink stay in despite suspecting a bullet seed and the other were when I expected your nintales to switch out against my Archeops again so I made a U-turn, only to be outsped to Defeatist status(effectively loosing Archeops) and failing to kill of your dying fox.
So it was another great match, well played. 
(Carbink and Cloyster will spend a week in the Pit of Horror though for humiliating me)

****! I humiliated my self!
I played a mock battle against your team(AI controlled) and got virtually raped. I only killed 2(almost 3) of yours and the AI did not even switched...
Damn your white fur ball for secretly knowing rock blast! And is it pure speed? It outsped both Blaziken and Archeops...

However, do not expect too much as my Double/Triple gladiators are not super trained(high leveled though).

Very interesting battle! All of mine came back with their shields rather than upon them.
However, Everyone of mine except Venusaur(have not named it Sylanna yet) were crippled with statuses and for them await a glorious but miserably future. It was painful watching my brave warriors slowly burning away and twitching in agony.
And what was up with that Clefable?! It simply refused to take any damage...
Could it be that you had a healing move on it? That could have been crazy alongside bulky attackers...
