Map Challenge!
i was wondering whether anyone would like to compete in a difficult map to see how far you get before being killed off by the ai
the map is called anwyl, an old map in german on maps4heroes.com, by koellefornia
it was a hammer of fate map, but apparently is usable for toe
so whoever manages to last the longest wins
rules:
heroic difficulty
random faction
please post replays of epic battles between you and the ai

hey thanks phoenix, i was going to post this in your thread, but it's not so much a creeping challenge as it is a map challenge and i didn't want to use up your valuable time;
i would have to say that this is one of the most challenging maps i have played to date(still haven't been able to win it yet).
i haven't used my faction of last resort(dungeon) yet, but if i lose again i'm going to use them

hi strider, i downloaded the map from maps4heroes, but am not sure whether it is there anymore
i uploaded it to rapidshare though: http://rapidshare.com/files/237252018/anwyl_die_veste_des_feuers_302.zip.html
its a hammers of fate map, but still works for toe; i'm sure multiple players can play it(probably up to 4)

It's still at maps4heroes (for some strange reason, I always think it's map4heroes)
But I think people would be after the ToTE modified version that PhoenixReborn did? (speedyshare link is old)
Else orcs would be a bit weird as player/computer?
[is there English translation?]

I enjoyed the map it was quite touch and go early, I got rather lucky I randomed orc, with both havez and haggash in my tavern. I'm new to finishing maps fast, so took me ~4 months to take it all & was lvl 30. My army was never impressive (8 cyclops, 23 pokai, 56 executioners, 20 earth d, 320 centaurs & 400 gobs) because the AI had so much of the map early & and was constantly harassing me until I fought 8k sprites to take shackles but the hero was enough (even without warcries - strange bug I get sometimes). Had attack, enlight, logi (warpath/snatch), luck & leadership (aura of swift/battle elation).
I'll prolly replay it once I can sort out how to avoid the bug having (posted in bug report thread).

Well, it's an intensive map to say the least, 210 battles, lol. My only advice is get to the sea early, and get the shackles (two islands have them - guarded by 8k sprites) asap. Other than you just have to win your battles, preserve your army. I'm a sadist though, I gave the comp players easy mode heroes (ossir/deleb) also jhora & dougal, then randomed one myself - haggash  That said I won without warcries (bug) and without war machines (just for fun) and was never offered powerful blow which would have been a decent substitute for warcries :/ Snatch saved my hide on many occasions.
Anyways related screens, I could find some replays from it but the last month or so was cleanup (hence the large resource pool in screenies), the main enemy base is really painful to get to. They can leave their gold mine heavy base via a 1 way portal and to get in you have to fight through several large garrisons plus traverse for 4-5 days. Meanwhile they can harass the rest of your islands.
