Kill the King (OOC)

“Kill the King!” Said the old man, his green eyes were shining in insanity, he stand up with the help of his old walking stick and repeated: “Kill the king of Zandaar and bring me his royal sceptre to prove it, kill him first and I’ll give you everything you need!”.


The task isn’t easy… To kill the king of Zandaar?! He is always in his Stronghold – the royal Stronghold of Zandaar – high populated city-state. Thousands of people, thousands of guards…, his defenders. Why the old magician needs the king dead? It doesn’t matter, since I know the reward – anything I want for the rest of my life!





In Kill the King RP your task is to build a character and kill the King of Zandaar in order to take your reward – anything you want for the rest of your life (sorry if this disappoints you but the reward is only in-game and I can't grand it to you for real ).

You have to choose your alignment and class:

1. Assassins – the assassins are aiming to kill the king for the reward. They are using special abilities and skills to reach and kill the target. Only one of them may take the reward of the old man – the first who manage to kill the king, so mostly they will fight for themselves, anyway they group too, but after the task is finished only one will take the prize. But don’t be so happy if you kill the king first you need to bring the royal sceptre to the old man, and no one know who can try to seal it, or to kill you, also king’s defenders will want your head on a stick The assassins are starting in the forest of Agamand – feudal lord who was once servant of the king. The forest was once region of Zandaar, but now it's ruled by Agamand – separate ruler known as the bandit king.

Not so fast you have other things to do as well, you’ll know later.

Classes:

Rogue: Rogues are melee fighters, or precise assassins. They can move imperceptibly in the shadows and strike from behind. Rogues are fast, but are able to use light weapons only – daggers or short swords, they can’t use ranged or heavy weapons. They can’t wear heavy armors too.

Weapons: daggers or short swords
Armor: Light

Sniper: Snipers are archers, they use ranged weapons (bows, crossbows…) but also melee weapons to protect themselves if the enemy manage to reach them. They have great number of escape abilities, like blinding the enemy for small amount of time or to place traps. Snipers are weak in direct melee fights.

Weapons: bows, crossbows, daggers, short swords
Armor: Light

Alchemist: An Alchemist is able to do great potions, for strength, health, invisibility. They can potion drinks or food. Alchemists are great liars, they can pretend to be your friends, but actually they will try to potion you. Alchemists can’t stand much without potions in battles, they can’t even use weapons. Also they need herbs and other materials for potions…

Weapons: none (only if we don't count all potions as weapons…)
Armor: none (just normal cloths)

Wizard: Wizards are casters, but they can’t cast hard offensive spells (example: HoMM implosion ). Simple tricks like telekinesis, weak black magic, etc. They can still kill an enemy with curses, but this require great amount of time to trigger on the target. Wizards are able to cast the curse from  huge distance, they can also see you from distance. Some of them can even fly for short amount of time.

Weapons: staffs or short swords + wands
Armor: none (just normal cloths)

2. Defenders
i“Bring me his head! The head of the damn bastard! And I’ll cover you with gold, kill Agamand, the bandit king!”, said verbeating Monag – king of Zandaar, but no one spoiled the shadow behind him.

Defenders of the king. They aim to protect the king in potential attacks and attempts. They are all around Zandaar and the royal stronghold. The defenders start in Zandaar. As defender you have to protect the king on any cost. You also have to reach the forest of Agamand and manage to catch Agamand – the bandit king, dead or alive.


Classes:

Royal Guard: Nothing more then heavy melee unit! Guards. They can wear plate mail and shields, all types of weapons. Guards are very tough and skilled in melee or ranged, but not in both (if you wish to play as guard, you have to choose between melee and marksmanship). Guards can “detect” stealthing players, but not traps or potions.

Weapons: All
Armor: All

SpellBreaker: Spellbreakers are anti-casters, they are able to detect potions and traps and to place anti-magic walls and shields (they can't be passed by stealthing players as well). They can cancel energy links made by wizards.

Weapons: All (except ranged and daggers, only long swords)
Armor: All (they can use only magical or force shields)

White Magician: Oppositive of the wizard, they can cast buffs and heal. They can also use healing spells. Very rarely they can resurrect someone (this is very strong magic, a lot of energy is needed and can be performed only on special places). They also need herbs for some actions.

Weapons: staffs or short swords + healing wands
Armor: none (just normal cloths)


And that’s not all: after one of the kings is dead, and if this does well, I promise, we’ll have second chapter




So basicly here is what you have to do:

As assassin you have to kill the king of Zandaar, but also to protect the bandits king. You can group with other players, but only one will win the reward. As defender, you have to protect the king of Zandaar and capture the bandits king.

So, what when one of the kings is dead? The game isn’t over. When an assassin kill Mokalig he has to bring the sceptre back to the old man. So the other assassins will try to steal it or to kill it’s new owner, also the defenders will want to kill them in order to avenge the king since his son is VERY bloodthirsty and he can't wait to sit on the throne  

If the bandits king is captured (or killed), the assassins have to try to save him, or to avenge him, or even to resurrect him (well only a defender can use this spell, but they can always try to kidnap a White Magician and force him to do it).

Locations (Blue – defenders, Red – assassins, Green – neutral, Black – the Dark Tower):



Zandaar – the well-known city state. Home and fortress of the kings. High populated and guarded.  Starting location of the royal guard class.

The Royal River –  the biggest river near Zandaar. Every time when new emperor is born the priests baptize him here. No one can cross the river, a lot of archer guards are waiting there all the time…

Camp Stonetorn – far defensive post near the road. It's leader is Landlord Alud. That's why all royal guards in the are are getting bonus.

The Sun Altar – a place full of holy energy. It’s where all SpellBreakers and Magicians have greatest and strongest energy (you don't wanna meet them there!) They also start there. It's the only place where resurrection spell can be casted.

Fort Moonfog – fort near the borders, full of soldiers. The fort is always in a fog and it's very hard to see it, but the royal archers on it's towers are watching!

Goldrush village – small village known thanks to his alchemist and mushroom gathers. Once was part of the Zandaar kingdom. Now the village support Agamand.

Akula post – pirate harbour. Some exotic goods can be bought here on solid cost. Also you can take a boat to Nearland island.

Nearland Island – pirate island, also known with it’s treasures. Agamand like it very much because of it's coconuts (his most favourite delicacy) and because this is where he was born . All assassins are getting bonus here.

Alastor’s glades – group of islands. Once they were ruled by Alastor – herbalist. However he disappeared very mysterious (a hearing says that he is immortal and now he is hidding somewhere in the mountains for unknown reason). The islands are very rich on rare herbs. BUT – it's very close to the dark towers circle.

Bloodscale island – ancient beasts are leaving there, protecting very powerful artifacts, treasures and knowledge.

Mirror lake – home of the many forest creatures (some of them very dangerous), like spirits and the green mages – protectors of the forest.

The Dark Tower – ruled by Murdar’klan – evil mage who don’t like you. Once he was nice guy but when he lost his beloved duchess Giovanna few hundred years ago, he went crazy and turned into this ultimate evil... master of the dark/black magic. Crossing his area is VERY dangerous! (the black circle).

Can you give some more information how this is played, do you have stats and stuff? Do you have a sort of "free-form" where you tell us when we overdoing it?? Do you handle the battles?

3. Equipment: Out-of-fashion ballroom outfit, alchemical reagents, smoking pipe, pouch of tobacco and marijuana, soft wooden cane.

Hanz was a former jester for the King, and is now an embittered x-employee after loosing his job to a younger man. He is weak in his older years with almost no fighting capabilities, however he has acquired a great wealth of knowledge and diplomatic savvy over the years.

i realized that this must be fantasy cuz of wizards

Description- A brown robe and a staff that has silver spikes attached at the end. A white thin straggly beard. No hat.
Gender- Male

Plan of attack- Genwulf has noticed that the only place where patrols do not go around the back of the palace. But the great cliffs prevent anyone from an assault that way. There is a way to climb them however. There is a cave of Alastor glades and a secret stairway lead under the sea and up the cliff. It was originally designed for the kings escape but has been never been used and the king could care less about it.

Bio: Varn is one of the newer recruits of zandaar's defenders.
He always felt strong magic connections but never felt that it was a good idea to try magic. Eventually he was taught to be a spellbreaker. one who breaks magic.
Description: 167 cm. Varn has a good temperment and keeps his cool under dangerous situations. He is of average weight for a spellbreaker. His dark brown hair is quite noticeable as he has lots of it.

Sorry guys, I wasn't able to work on the RP thanks to problems with my internet connection. But I'm here and ready to answer your questions.

At first, ya thats fantasy, just there is only one race - human and it's... let's say "derivative" races (like undeads).

In this world magic isn't powerful, it has nothing to do with powerful deastructive spells. A wizzard/mage may use blesses, curses, to call the nature powers, to summon animals, some of them are using telekinesis or fly and etc...

About the battles I asked Mysty for an advice few weeks ago, and she said that GM seems like good idea for this RP since there should be a lot of clashes between the players.

So I will have the role of a GM (I won't overdo it, don't worry about it ) As a GM I will:

Keep the order
Not leting someone to become tooooo powerful
Giving you hints for the worlds secrets

I'll think to join as normal player too (if it's needed for the balance).

Thats all for now, I'll wait for a bit more to join and will (probably) start it the comming Monday.

Till that day I may add some more info for the world

Aphasia Wye, male, somewhere between 20 and 40.
Using twin long daggers, carrying 6 with him at all times. Used in close combat and as short range weapon. Wearing no armor, only black silk pants, a black silk highlander shirt and a dark green traveling cloak he is very vulnerable to any kind of blows. Main skill is speed and stealth, not focusing on strenght and rather depending on skill.
His parents were killed by the Kings royal guards while they tried to help rebels escaping the city when he were only four. He were taken in by a woodsman and thought in the art of knife and hand combat. When the old man were killed by a bear when out hunting, Aphasia decided he didn't like the company of people, and chose kill for money. He made it his art, and enjoyed the feeling of power when victims died by his hand. He were born with unnaturally good nightsight, but it makes him almost blind in bright direct light.

52 years old, a former renowned crossbowman, now the town drunk of Goldrush village. When he heard of the old man's offer, he set out to kill the king because he was drunk and bored with his time. Though he is a trained professional marksman, he is ridiculously clumsy and tends to attract unwanted attention. This is quickly resolved with a whiskey bottle hitting his opponent's head.

From what I understood there's no "turn", there's just .. posting, Voki would post events for the assassins and defenders .. I really doubt you must actually wait.
