this "Maltese Falcon" looks like a typo criminal movie from the poster, well, it is not so interesting for myself.
Perhaps it worth to watch this movie for once, but still. . .

Well "The Big Sleep" looks not so very promising too . . .
I fear the both of this movies sux. I think there is nothing even close to the cool movies such as "Dr Strangelove . . ." and even "Casablanca".

But anyway I think, perhaps this films is worth to watch, at least they can be better than a modern mainstream nonsense.

P.S.My English looks little bit better comparing to the past

There are some very curious standards for what qualify as racism in movies: if following a common conception automatically denotes racism, then it means that on the silver screen: black men aren't allowed to like fried chicken, women can't be elementary school teachers, and Dr Strange isn't allowed to visit the Himalayas. You could add a thousand other things to the list of censorship.

Once again the point is maintained that those on the far left and those on the far right are actually cut from the same cloth of dehumanizing human beings. They both seem incapable of thinking of sapient human beings outside of the context of artificially categorized groups.

Either that or they have a low vocabulary. Dr Strange went to the East to be enlightened. The correct word to be used here is 'unoriginal' not 'racist'. Buy a thesaurus.

1) Racism is the invariant definition, regardless in which place on Earth its happens. Even regardless if it is a real life or a movie.

2) Censorship in the democratic societies, have no direct aim to the racism itself, but they have aim to the propaganda of racism. In short - do not apply a propaganda of racism in the movies, this will cause a pity results in the society, and in general can cause a serious weakness of the state, in the worst case, it can cause even a, in long terms, collapse of the state.

3)  "Dr Strangelove . . . " have no propaganda of racism, even more, this movie is highlighting a very important reason why the US and SU so overpowered, you will find it in the speech of the Major, after he confirmed a direct order from the airbase command. .

So Valerian and Laureline is getting a movie, curious how it will turn out. I used to love the comics but not all were translated to English at the time, those I could find anyway. A good opportunity to check the series afresh

I just went to see the new Star Wars movie, Rogue One.

Wow! That's about the only reaction I had during and after the movie. Yes, it had a lot of special effects, shoot-outs with Storm Troopers and explosions, but the story felt mature and made sense. The characters were fleshed out better than those in The Force Awakens last year and the humor that was inserted into it was of a higher quality than from The Force Awakens (or any of the other Star Wars movies - the former imperial droid K-2SO is awesome in that respect).

The expected hooks towards A New Hope were also implemented pretty good and really connect the two movies. Basically, you should see them as a 2-parter, although in comparison, A New Hope might feel a bit more bland than Rogue One. Still, Rogue One conveyed the gritty feel of A New Hope quite well. The concluding scene in my opinion superseded the one at the end of A New Hope quite a bit and - disregarding the lightsaber duel between Luke and Darth Vader - even the battle over Endor at the end of Return of the Jedi.

If you have even remotely warm feelings towards Star Wars and its universe, this one is a must-see! I know that I will be heading back to the cinema sometime in the coming few weeks to see it again!

I'm on with Maurice on this one

Did not really know what to expect from this movie. Is it a Star Wars or not, could it be any interesting without the good/bad the light and the dark side of the force kinda aproach, yes it can!

In short, it's a fun ride. Characters and the plot sits nicely and it has enough Star Wars feeling in it, deffinetly you get your moneys worth.

The force is with me and aim one with the force...

It's a trap!

No really, this one isn't. The story is pretty solid and the characters feel more "real" than those in TFA, in my opinion. I recommend it.

Darth Vader has a role in the movie, but it's relatively small. After all, the movie doesn't focus on the Dark Lord of the Sith, but rather on the band of Rebels who steal the plans. It's not just trailer bait, in any case.

If I were to compare it to scenes from other movies, let's say that his screentime is about limited to the screentime he had from the start of A New Hope up until just before his meeting with Obi Wan Kenobi.

Alright Maurice, alright. Since I see you so willing to put your word on the line here, I'll give it a try just because of you. However, if I end up disliking it as much as TFA, then prepare yourself to shoulder some blame for my wasted time and money (which I expect you to repay in QPs).
