you're right. that DOES sound racist. good thing that they're moving forward, right? nominating plenty of people of color merely because there was such a fervor over "racism" last year, right? and not simply because of talent? sounds like equality to me. forced, a little bit, but equality nonetheless.
and that's what's important, right? equality, and not QUALITY.

So, finally got around to watch The Revenant, it had its ups and downs but overall, it was quality cinema, especially compared to most of the stuff we see lately. One thing was extraordinary though, the CGI in the bear attack scene. For the first time in my life, I had to check up if it was CGI or an actual trained bear and had it turned out a trained bear, I then would have said they had the best trainer ever. The scene was incredibly realistic.

also got my hands on "blue velvet" last night. haven't seen it yet; it was one of the movies my dad wouldn't allow me to watch as a kid, from his collection.
aaaaand, another awaited movie: deadpool 2 (trailer)

Went to see Logan yesterday. I'm certainly not a comics books or comics movie fan but even though this movie is based on a comics, it has nothing to do with the popcorn CGI pollution which such movies typically are. Admittedly it was a bit overdone here and there but the acting was very good and the story was delivered nicely. Nothing which will be remembered after a few years anyway but yeah, go see it, it's worth it.

I thought the director filmed all of the rest of the film first and then for the final shooting he unleashed an angry grizzly bear mother on set to kill Leonardo DiCaprio.
Then I saw that it was CGI.

Watched Logan on Monday (rather emotional and violent non-pyrotechnic movie, good acting) and Kong on Tuesday (er...).
Not sure of what to expect from upcoming movies. Probably going to wait for that Life movie.

Watched "Pulp Fiction" - not my taste, I don't like depicting killings and blood, and stuff, and don't like criminals and drugs, but still it was an impressive, and even inducted some interesting thoughts in my head - well, I recomend this movie to anyone who can watch violence and stuff on the TV-box.

Lol, there is Batman Begins on TV and I just realized "the cute little kid" in the movie is Joffrey from Game of Thrones. That scene will never be the same.

I was checking a few comments on imdb about the final Resident Evil, trying to decide whether to see it or not and this guy just made me laugh:

Storm-Giant said: So I watched X-Men: Apocalypse. It was an ok movie, not as terrible as the reviews, but still with a lot of issues.
The pace was off. It goes very slow for over half of the movie, then abruptly kicks off. Only the last arc has action scenes, which is a big shame.
Too much CGI at the same time on the screen, it was distracting and...useless?
Apocalypse made for an actually threating villian (unlike say, Ultron) but the stakes were never high, you pretty much knew who was going to win. Oscar Isaac was over qualified for that role.
THe four 'horsemen' were rushed and underdeveloped with the exception of...you guessed it right, Magneto! Then he becomes a part of the background while the X-men are confronting Apocalypse. The snow?
Quicksilver had the best scene of the movie...again! Not that I complain!
There's also another great comic-esque scene, but I won't spoil whose is
Young Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Psilocke, etc...were good as characters. Action too with the exception of perhaps Jean Grey actress, whcih I found a tad wooden. However...
...there was no emotional attachment. The lack of continuity between films is killing the franchise, the storylines are encapsulated and do not feel as a part of a trilogy/on going series. This issue is going to be accentuated if the next one is set on the 90s.
The ending was abrupt and very silly. And Mangeto urghhhhh
Finally got to watch it too. While enjoyable, the above points stand. Sophie Turner wasn't bad but I didn't really warm up to the idea of her as Jean. I liked most character but 1) angel was an idiot 2) psylocke and storm didn't get enough time 3) actually the whole team needed more time to interact with each other 4) we didn't even get to see jubilee's powers
The comic book scene after the kidnapping was a nice touch but.. rather unnecessary? Also having played the game that features said scene, it could have been made better. More visceral and animalistic. Not to mention, double and triple kills!

I have watch a few minutes of those movie about "X-mans", coz' one of people that I know is liked to watch it, usually I am not looking for such nonsense. And this few minutes was truly enough - the movie itself is a brutal brainwashing propaganda (well, the quality of this dull-style propaganda is not so bad, I must to admit) with some inclusions of the satire and taunt to SU-guys (but this is ok, SU guys doing the same in their pop-culture stuff) + dark humor on topics that even frostysh don't like to joke about.
The short conclusion: The movie about X-mans, where they are in the Cold War, sux by default.
