Wasn't he acting in "Meet the Parents" or some movie like that? That's a comedy. And there was a sequel to that movie too, if I remember correctly - or better said, two sequels.

Actually where else have you seen him like that?
i don't understand the question. are you asking me where else has he played a serious, moody, and dangerous character? because that was kind of his trademark until he started doing mostly lame comedies(like "analyze this/that", which i snowing hated).

I don't understand the question either, just look at the 20 years or so he did movies in his past.... There are dozens. That was his trademark indeed.

Well, rather than the genre, it's the quality of the movies that dropped down in these recent years. De Niro had been doing comedies since the 80's, Midnight Run was so good and so underrated, We're No Angels with Sean Penn was also okay, there was this one with Bill Murray, where Murray was the gangster who gave Uma Thurman as a gift to him... Even the first Analyze This is not so bad in my opinion, he was making fun of himself but the sequel was the worst kind of overkill.
But in the 2010's, I have seen so many De Niro movies that I don't even remember properly.

While I was searching about some tactic in a Star Wars game forum, I learned that the guy playing Wedge Antilles in the original film back in '77 was Ewan McGregor's uncle. I'm betting that's why McGregor decided to be an actor, watching your uncle fly an X-Wing on the big screen while you're six, that will do it.

Supposedly new D&D movie. I don't recall much about the previous movie, but I do seem to recall a lot of people stated how bad it was. We'll see what this one will do.

Would have been nice if they explored the dynamics of a team both in terms of skills and character, when faced with challenges they are unprepared for. In party-based rpgs all the fun lies in team banter and intelligent cooperative play. And boss encounters ofc ^^

And yes, it's good. Impressively imaginative settings and action. No one pretends it's any serious, either.
The Led Zeppelin song is the best part.

ragnarok does look fun. i don't particularly care for the way they used a popular zepplin song to build hype for it, though. the last time they used a popular older song like that to push a movie, it was a really, REALLY snowty movie... *cough cough suicide squad cough cough*

So, finally seen Rogue One, I think it was better, much better than both the prequel trilogy and the Force Awakens. A satisfying SW movie since so many years. One thing though, why is Darth Vader residing in some volcanic wasteland, because it looks evil? He is the right hand man of the emperor, the second most powerful man through out countless solar systems... Why colonize the enitre galaxy if you're gonna live on a frigging rock? Meanwhile, tropical moons with the whole beach and the wonderful climate are used as outposts and radar stations! Somebody got to use this in a stand up show soon.

Well I either consider them equal or (depending on the mood lol) like Rogue One slightly more, because it brought a bit realism to what it is like to be a rebel fighting an empire... it is actually no fun and games. No more only good vs evil setting either - shades of gray are incorporated. It is like a "heist" movie in a sense - but set in Star Wars universe. Love it. However, one clear point goes to Force Awakens if we are to compare - Rey is more fleshed out of a character than Jyn is. Other characters are more memorable in Force Awakens too. Good movies both ;P

It's for ambiance, ofc. Lol, Vader sitting on a lounge chair at the beach, sipping a pina colada.
That was @ artu, btw.

Perhaps it's because of the history of the place? While it's not mentioned in the movie explicitely (one of the few places the movie takes place that's not mentioned by name), it shows all signs of being Mustafar - the very planet where Anakin Skywalker finally turned into Darth Vader.

Vader and the Emperor both live in **** housing unit for being rulers of the galaxy. The Emperor's throne room looks like a vacant junior high school cafeteria that got coated in black & gray spray-paint. It's part of the light-dark Zoroastrianism of Star Wars. Sith don't party. Sith get their high off of power.
