The main problem I saw with the latest few DC films are the asshats producing them. They try it too hard to make it avengers like, and it comes up only as bargain bin avengers. Should've been it's own thing. They should get the producers that are in charge of DCs animated films, the result would be vastly different.

Of course, it is. Still, when in doubt if the site is satire in the form of fake news, check the other headlines, one is  “Keith Richards accidentally smokes Johnny Deep.”

i think dc would do a lot better in a grittier vein; something akin to the vibes in "watchmen" or "sin city".

If only the Suicide Squad movie had been half as good as the animated movie Assault on Arkham... Heck they could have just copied the plot minus Batman and it would have worked.

Meanwhile, someone posted The Spirit(2008) in a fb group about bad movies and.. plenty of people disagreed. Some even said it was special like sin city :/

A movie where an evil Samuel Jackson cartoonishly emerges from inside the swamp behind the protagonist, smashes a toilet on his head and says that toilets are always funny. I'll often watch a movie that is so bad it's good but this one is just bad. Not even Samuel Jackson and his hotties could save the movie.

I partially read some (fairly stupid) review of "Sicario: Day of the Soldado" and this way I found that this is actually a sequel to... take a guess. Just finished watching the thing from the link.
The general impression is about a very-well-shot-above-average-action-thriller which for some reason reminds me of "Heat", maybe because of its relative slowness which nevertheless never becomes boring (the two movies don't really have much in common otherwise). It's very watchable, despite it's rather uneasy and sometimes gritty presentation - I barely noticed when two hours flew away. Still, its deliberate simplicity in some areas devolves into shallowness or even stupidity. Emily Blunt's character feels like a placeholder, and not because she doesn't try. Benicio Del Toro mostly does well but never completely convinced me that he is what he is supposed to be in the movie. Josh Brolin delivers the best performance, even though his character is fairly stereotypical. The rest - good plays overall but nobody shines. Maybe that's the biggest flaw of the movie - it does well in many areas but still fails to make a complete impression that you're watching a believable story rather than something "made up", sometimes with way too convenient instruments.

Michael Bay appreciation time! well not really.

Seen two films of his, The Island (2005) and the lastest Transformers.
Bit of spoilery

The first film is starring young Obi Van(Ewan McGregor), but for some reason I thought that the main protagonist was played bu Jude Law, since I've seen the film about 7 years ago.
For the first time viewer it may seem as a post apoc film for the first few minutes, until the big twist - the majority of the inhabitants are DUN DUN DUN... clones of the rich and powerful. and are used as organ donors and surrogate mothers. the main character sees this, and of course action and explosions ensue. it's not a masterpiece, but it's watchable.

Now, the latest transformers are the same as the rest of the series. not enough focus on the bots themselves, and now it has some sort of crappy alt history thing to it. meh.

The island has an interesting premise but quickly becomes a hollow action flick. I was surprised at how stupid some characters initially seemed until we learn about their mental age. I also remember some silly attempts at humour that made me groan.

The Island was a Michael Bay film? Wow. It was actually decent.

The Transformer movies are trash. Even if you ignore human characters who are always the weak point of any Transformers feature, the movies were simply bad because of the tiring dialouges (stream of words) and of how those made Autobots into brutish, single-minded and unlikable characters. Plus every movie started with humans hunting them because why not...

You might want to make fun of people who glorify the cartoons etc, but imo not until you see the animated series Transfomrmers Prime. The tv series were great and showed how much depth you can bring up in the franchise... I fullheartly recommend it.

I finally got to watch Black Panther, and, oh my God, what an idiotic and stupid film! I genuinely felt like I wasted time with that one

On the bright side, I watched the new Blade Runner, and I loved it. It is the best film that came out in recent years, in my opinion. Film lasts over 2 hours and I never felt bored, and ended up wanting more.

Well, black panther is about an off-the-grid uber advanced African country that nobody knows about. There are a few parts where you need an operational Disbelief Suspender™.
