Okay I'm definitely sold on a Batman reboot with the Joaquin Phoenix Joker.

I was a fan as well. Very good movie; one of the best(if not the best)  i've seen, portraying a mentally ill man vs society(better than taxi driver, imo). Great score/soundtrack, and a fresh take on an icon that didn't suck like an unmentionable before him. If you haven't seen it in theaters by now, you should.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014) is a great movie. I love the concept for the aliens.

Eli on Netflix - 8/10. Difficult to write much without spoilering it but good twist at the end that I didnt see coming. Also got to say that, even with her small role in the film, I do feel that the red head girl from stranger things is a really good actress with a promising future ahead

It was cool, but to my surprise it had a really good reception, and a sequel is planned because people demand it

Midway:

Hacksaw Ridge was a far better movie in overall quality, but dang the scenes with the dive bombers making their attack run were epic. VROOOOOOOOOOOM. That's how the air battles in The Last Jedi were suppose to be made.

Too Funny To Fail

Documentary about the short-lived Dana Carvey sketch show which was quite interesting. A suprising amount of now-famous people got a start in this.

Just watched Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Was good, but didn't blow my socks off or anything. Confusing at times, and propaganda that pertained to real life was too obvious. Maybe they timed it like this intentionally, i dunno. They sure seem to be desperate about lighting a fire under the populace; that's for sure.

To conclude, this sequel series is better off left forgotten for me. Actually it made me appreciate the prequels for having the balls to try something different than cashing on nostalgia for the original trilogy.

On the average, the audience seems to agree that it's a disaster of "The Last Jedi" proportions, which is easy to believe. Disney did manage to squeeze enough money out of the brand, so mission accomplished. What I still don't get is why people who are more certain that a movie is going to suck than that the Earth revolves around the Sun still go and pay to watch it.

I didn't watch it but from what I heard from other people I know (some of which are SW uber-fans) the movie is mediocre: there were things they liked and things they didn't, but at the end of the day it was so-so in their eyes. So my thinking is that the the movie was trying to douse the trashfire that was TLJ which was ultimately doomed to fail. The clownfest that was TLJ is unsalvagable.

One thing is certain: TLJ left such a disgust in me that I don't even want to go watch the last movie in sequel trilogy.

Disney tried their best to fix what they snowed up in TLJ, and how obvious that was made it worse that they realized they didn't do it right from the getgo. An enjoyable movie nonetheless, but they still screwed up. For instance, they added another force power to this one; and it just confuses. It's like a retarded magic trick that only a kid would appreciate. Still better than TLJ, imo. You can pretend TLJ was never made, and almost watch this one just fine.

@Zeno:

Simple. I don't have the willpower to not see it If the trilogy didn't suck I would have seen it more than that so they still lose money.

The whole movie has been spoiled for months and the plot seemed too lame to be true. Naturally it was and the spoilers are even more detailed than the movie. What I expected was a popcorn movie that requires that you switch off your brain but the amount of stupid is unreal. I understand that a part of the movie had to be spent correcting the plot course from last jedi which requires exposition and speeding up the events, leaving little room to breathe and process. They should have had a coherent plan from the start, build up the characters, their motivations, character progression and relationships, evaluate which force changes work, set up plot points in advance.. Jar Jar Abraams speaks about the mystery box but star wars is not a mystery series and the revelations all fell flat anyway.

In a way this reminds me of ubi's handing of heroes. After a decent game they try some radical changes and fail, then they try to play really safe and fail again. No real understanding of the series.
