The outside scenes were clearly Istanbul but they made it look more Islamic than it actually is, I guess to bring in some Orient flavor. For example, every woman except the receptionists at the hotel (which were in uniform) were in headscarves, while most neighbourhoods, that isnt so. The police cars were from the 80's (cheaper to crash and trash in chase scenes I guess), the streets they picked were always old and poor, etc...

Finally saw X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's alright, but I would have prefered if they continued solely with the cast from First Class since I like those characters better + Michael Fassbender is a really, really good and really, really hot actor.

Apart from the awesomeness of the trailer I'm disappointed with Ultrons look. Why the f did they give him a humans face? What is he: a Transfomer? What happened to this:

I really hope the face in the trailer it's his, I don't know, final form or sth. To tell you the truth Starks "new armor" in the trailer has made a better impression on me.

His voice is also a tad off. They should've give him a more robotic voice, not a human voice with a little robotic growl...

Ultron is my favorite robotic villain of all time so I'm a little stingy here...

I love his voice.  It is wonderfully menacing.  The scene where he crashes the party is absolutely perfect.

Just saw The Great Beauty (2013) aka "La grande bellezza". The cinematography is amazing, and although cynical it is not dark. Looking back at life it really makes no sense what we do on this planet. I had a blast watching it, a beauty.

I know I'm probably alone in this but I've found the 64 avengers movies (or whatever it's at now) to be tiresome. Maybe it's just comic-book-movie fatigue in general... but there's only so much cartoonish violence and 14-year-old-morality studies one can take in a year.

Dawn of the Plant of the Apes was average. Btw, a thought occured to me, new generations who see this movie first before the Charlton Heston classic will never be able to get the Cold War innuendo and the fear of mutually assured destruction in the original, now.

The new movie is the opposite. The same gene therapy virus that kills humans, magnifies apes. It's a stacked hand where one person's poison is another person's prosperity.

Gene therapy is kind of the new science fiction movie's playground. Cold War Era movie industry, weapons of mass destruction were more popular. Now it's went from macro (nukes), to micro (genes) as the mismanaged instruments of terror.

The november man :
very average movie, the story is confusing and I often had no idea what was going on. also the film feels slow. some little games of cat and mouse makes it a bit more exciting at times, but it mostly felt tedious to watch. I guess, at least it has Pierce Brosnan.

teenage mutant ninja turtles :
that one was surprisingly fun. well of course the scenario is nothing special, but that's just what you would expect from a TMNT movie. my biggest complaint is that the movie seems to revolve more around April o'neil than the turtle who actually appear for the first time kinda late into the movie. moreover April is totally inconscious and does not miss a single opportunity to stupidly put her life in danger. turtles are probably what you would expect and are fun. battle scenes, some were nice, others were confusing. still entertaining overall.

the wolf of wall street :
this one was great, it runs for 3 hours and you never feel bored (or the contrary if you can't stand all that over the top display of debauche, alcohol, drugs, sex) this gets so ridiculous, which is what makes it so fun. the main characters just think they can get away with everything and they do not shy at all, always pushing the limits. I was surprised by the ending. not that it wasn't predictable, it's rather that I expected some things that just didn't happen and might have made the movie even more interesting.

I don't like the Avengers. It's far worse than shared work with the compiled work of at least 100 + writers, it reeks of plagiarism with Thor as the god of thunder ( that take orders from humans yeah sure god ok ) with a dash of brainwashing, look kids, captain america only fights with a shield because America only defends people ( lol ) ; this dysfunctional team of heroes are only together because of their work. X men is an original creation, they have more in common because they re all mutants and they also had this Clairemont guy that wrote X men stories for 17 years straight.
