Hey, what do you think for that incoming movie?

And here is the HD trailer.

I was always fan of Sherlock (books, movies, series, etc...), so I'm going on the cinema for sure, it looks great, but somehow to much action and not the topical Homes.

Yes ... I'm surprised they were allowed to use that brand for something which seems so unrelated to the actual books.

I think Sherlock Holmes is in public domain. In addition, there's no point after Jeremy Brett... Reimagining makes more sense to me. Not that I like it, mind you.

Avatar was beautiful on multiple levels. Definitely the type of movie you want to watch in the theater. Starcraft + Pocahontas.

edit: And let me tell you. After renting the headache-inducing G.I. Joe movie a few days before, it probably made Avatar seem all the more good.

Visually, romantically, and culturally.

I wasn't overly impressed with the 1st Ironman, but I'll still watch the 2nd. I never got very attached to the characters, and the villain was lame.

A new Robin Hood movie is coming out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSqL9ygBCck

Ridley Scott is a pretty good director and I really like Russell Crowe's movies, but the Robin Hood with Kevin Costner is one of my favorite movies of all time. The trailer makes me worried there will be too much mindless action.

I loved avatar as well, the setting really draws you in. The story itself may not be something unheard of but it's executed nicely and the film feels complete. For instance they could cut it short and resume in a sequel and I'm glad they didn't.

That is not to say we won't see another but at least the first one does not end in a cliffhanger.

Edit:

May want to check this while we are at it.

Yeah, the movie is performing extremely well. About $250 (domestic) so far and still going. Cameron sure does know his craft, to say the least. I watched the extended trailer afterward and the movie is every bit as good as the trailer makes it out to be:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRdxXPV9GNQ

There are plans for further Avatar movies, with Jake and Nyatari exploring the other moons of Polythemus, the gas giant. Not 100% sure there will be, but given how well it's doing, it's a big possibility.

You're aware the budget was greater than that right? So technically at the moment it's negative profit.
