I really enjoy horror movies, this one gots me
Although is an old movie, it's still pretty enjoyable. And if you want more of it, go watch Annabel
Well, seems like some eh... Girl-Made Horror Movie. I mean it was designed for girls
And also, there is no joke here, so I would have no problem.

I loved district nine even though almost everyone I know hated it. Never understood why...it was an awesome looking movie that turned out to have a good and suprising plot.

the villain. He's pretty one-dimensional, though i've heard that's kind of a thing with his films by this point. I don't want to watch Chappie for the villain. i want to watch it because OMG, adorable robot and "artificial life" themes! sounds awesome to me

That was kind of why I went to see Ex machina but it was no where near as good as district 9. It was cool at first but the there wasn't really a plot. It could have been much better, it was really slow getting to any action. Personally I thought it was going to be a horror movie from the trailer but it wasn't.

When I watched Chappie trailer, I got the "I, robot" and "Bicentennial Man" and "A.I" feeling altogether, but hell, I like this sort of movie.
I also like District 9. I gather the guy is still waiting the alien to return and cure him up to this day.

Boyhood seems to be one of those movies which people overrate due to some misunderstood intellectualism. There isn't anything special about it, really, and the idea itself is neither new, nor executed better than before. In the end of those looooong 150+ minutes me and my girlfriend found ourselves thinking "so what was the point?". Frankly there doesn't seem to be one - just a story which is neither incredibly original, nor particularly dramatic or whatever, told because... someone decided to make a movie out of it. The acting isn't very impressive too. The political "messages" were completely over the top. The characters - including the main one - had nothing really deep about them. So 8.1?!? Please, 6.0 at best. Maybe 7.0 if you cut 40-50 minutes that don't add anything worth watching anyway.

So, I've seen Only Lovers Left Alive, it had it moments being a film based on character study which I generally like but in the end, there was this massive problem, they were meant to sound as they were above us all but on the contrary, they sounded like wanna-be teenagers with the constant name-dropping that lead to no substance and all that "ah, damn these humans they are all zombies" talk. (You might like it, fred ) And they are supposedly lovers for centuries, yet they had to explain each other every little detail about their every act and emotion like explaining it to a 5year old for some unexplained reason. (Well, the actual reason is the film has zero trust in its audiance.)
Also saw Dr Strangelove after many years, once again and with a deeper sense of history. I must say, although we live in a very different world from the Cold War Era, the film lost none of its brilliance and humor. Even the reactions of Peter Sellers (playing a British airforce officer) while listening to the gone-mad American general who thinks the Commies brainwashed them all by poisoning the water (you might like this, too, fred ) is enough reason to watch it.
Finally, El Secreto des sus ojos was a film worth mentioning, an emotionally strong finale with a believable but surprising twist, interesting, likeable characters. The Imitation Game was also good but you have to treat it as fiction rather than actual history, so many bending of the facts and not always in a believable fashion, the code breakers were certainly not the ones deciding which targets would be saved or not, most of the time they even had no idea about the military aspects of the codes they broke.

Well, I'm happy to see the return of a comic book Batman after the whimpering conclusion of the last Batman triology. Ben Affleck is kind of a so-so actor for me. I would have preferred a Wesley Snipps Batman that uses a katana and has all of the strengths of a vampire but none of the weaknesses, and wears sunglasses instead of a bat mask.

upon first hearing of this movie, i cringed. upon hearing that ben affleck would play batman, i cringed harder. i thought to myself, that there's no way any sensible human being with a working brain, would go to see that. unless of course, it was for comedic value(like sharktopus or sharknado or something).
after watching that trailer, i see it even lacks the capability to be taken ironically.
after watching the trailer, i sincerely think everyone involved in the idea/process/making of that movie, should...
oh wait, this is a family forum. i'll spare the gruesome details, then.

first off, i hate jared leto. he's a douchebag. always has been, always will be. in real life, and on-screen. first assfleck plays buttman, and now leto is going to play the Joker?
