I have a few films recently - "Virus" (about Akademik Vladislav Volkov  - SU naval vessel), "The Abyss" (about deep water diving) - not so bad as I thought, but still not so good.
Suddenly my attempts to obtain more films to my collection has been failed, at least for now.

About "Star Wars: Rouge One" - I have not watched it yet, but I think this movie sux hard, this is typo a hollywood braindamaging stuff, but I hope that I am mistaking ;/.

The best movie from the Star Wars series, and one which I have remembered most, this is "Phantom Menace"

A poor Obi Wan, and his master the name of which I cannot remember, a very good example when the human with the honest thoughts can easily make a wrong decision, or can be tricked off, and this leads to a horrific results. Me is too sentimental about this good story.

I think I'll actually need to rewatch it to have a better opinion. I was in semi daydream mode for the first half of the movie for some reason.

This Star Wars felt much more like a war movie than other ones, which isn't really good or bad, but just different. I enjoyed the new terrain. The atmosphere and combat were a treat. The actors were solid. I dropped a tear at one point in the movie. Will not specify.

I didn't like it as much as Force Awakens, I think mostly because I'm tired of dwelling in the past in the saga. Seeing Darth Vader didn't do anything for me. I want the fresh material and the new characters instead of dwelling on ghosts of 20th century film.  After all, you already know what happens. You're just seeing the details fill in.

I'm still sad that they missed the opportunity for a complete reboot. Or not going old republic. Seriously now..

That does not compute, Force Awakens is copy-pasted A New Hope, only much worse. Or... or maybe you don't like well-made Star Wars movies, that would actually inject some logic into the statement above.

Yeah, not that it's only a superficial A New Hope/Return of the Jedi remake and even steals something like the death of Han Solo from the OBi Wan scene, it's also very bad at doing that. Ben sacrificing himself made sense, Han didn't, Luke had to learn the ways of the force in his spiritual journey, Rey reduced it into psychic powers, Vader was cool, Kylo Ren is teenage angst... It was obvious the movie was priorly targeting  kids and teenagers with the regular "toy commercial" mentality, that's where the actual money is now.

I think you're hitting the mark there with why I liked Rogue One better than The Force Awakens; it's more mature.

And Rogue One being a war movie? What part in "Star Wars" would deny these movies being war movies?

Star Wars movies have an "adventure" vibe, a little bit like Indiana Jones. Rogue One was more of a war movie: a band of brothers, lots of characters dying, a focus on conflict/politics within the chain of command, power struggles. It had a similar feeling to many 20th century war movies. Less graphic of course.

It won't sell quite as well because it has a narrower audience: despite the female main character it leans more masculine than other movies. Fewer women and children and senior citizens will go to see it.

Old Republic wouldnt be bad. If you go super far in the past, it becomes new. But I didn't have a ton of interest being in the immediate past.

Im just as happy with the current new saga though. Lots of fresh and fun characters. Kylo Ren is extemely well done and a refreshing break from the "make the new guy bigger and badder". It's too early to say until all the movies are done, but so far I like him more than Vader. Vader of course is great, as he is the most famous villain in the history of movies, but he's more like a villain in an epic poem than a villain in real life. Vader was also quite the badass in Empire Strikes Back, which is the best movie ever. Kylo's personality/mannerisms are very realistic with other young dictators/war lords coming to power. Hell, he reminds me a little bit of the new Filipino president, except that guy is actually (comparitvely) calm compared to his youth. And it will be fun to see Mark Hamill on screen: unlike Darth Vader, who is dead, Luke Skywalker still has an active role in the world, except this time he'll be the sage master. It's unlikely to be his job to slay the dragon since Rey is our new ass kicker.

Yeah, Kylo Ren is somewhat the same as Prequels Anakin/Vader but combared to original Darth Vader, his no where near as interesting.. but these are again mather of opinions..

Loved the Rogue One scene with Vader on the ship at the end... Oh, my.. Wife strugged my hand so tight and I could not beliave this was happening, baddest of the bad in action, that alone was moneys worth for me. Good stuff

Okey-dokey. Anyway, I cannot get it for now.

I will be able, to obtain some films in the near future, I want to not waste this attempt, I need films something like a classics of the cinematography, or at least a good movie, but not a hollywood nonsense, or braindamaging propaganda.
Is there any good advice?
